Love this little lens for doing quick out and about shots. Remember that the focal equivalent on a 35mm puts this in the low 20s, so if your looking for a super wide angle either look elsewhere or pick up the high-def adapter that Sony makes for this lens. For quick and dirty wide angles, this works well in panoramic mode on my NEX-6. It doesn't feel as solid is some of Sony's other prime E-Mount lenses, but it doesn't feel as cheap as the Sigma lenses that are also popular for the NEX series. Significantly faster than the kit lenses too. All in all a great, relatively low priced lens that's always in my camera bag.

Great build quality, the image of the lens is very nice. Practical and secure caps. Buy an UV/Skylight filter to protect from scratches and enhance daylight photos. Fits perfectly on Sony Soft Carrying case with a Nex5r with 18-55mm lens, including flash and charger.

used it to get wide shots on A7rii. As long as you have the proper lighting situation you'll be good to go. The lense will not be as crisp as a full frame lense. But will still get you great ulta wide shots

I made this purchase because of the value, easy use and overall quality when taking photos of large rooms, landscapes and large open areas. The Sony E-mount lenses are quick to swap and add adapters with minimal effort. This lens also works great with all types of lighting indoors or outdoors or with added light sources.

If you want something minimalistic that doesn't draw attention when you're out and about this is the lens! It's a 16mm (24mm on APS-C) so you get a nice wide field of view, this paired with the A6300 fits nicely inside my jacket so I can skip the bag entirely. F2.8 aperture means you can do low light/night photography without any major issues. Definitely worth the money.

I bought this lens to use while on vacation. It works great for pictures of buildings and landscapes. You can get a lot more into the frame and still see people well. I do wish the aperture was a bit lower as it is difficult to get a blurred background. That said it’s a great lens to take on vacation.

This is a very respectable lens when it comes to picture quality and can even compete with some higher end "sony" lenses in that department, however I think I may be returning it. The other night, I was noticing some really bad inconsistencies with AF and this was happening with more than enough light, correct exposure settings, focus speed tested on normal and responsive which is the highest it can go on my camera. I even swapped cameras. Still happened. I swapped to the 18-135 zoom lens that came with my A6400, and it performed just fine, with no AF issues whatsoever. Very very odd. I'm guessing this could be why this lens is so cheap and why many people like it but for me the longevity is worrisome, now I am paranoid about how long of a shelf life this thing actually has. Its probably not very long. It also feels VERY cheap and I noticed you really have to force that mount if you want to hear it click into the cam body. Not a good sound or feeling, so i've just rarely taken it off unless absolutely necessary. Maybe skip this lens and go for a (cheapish) wide from sigma, samyang or tamron. I've never had any issues with any of their budget friendly lenses and they are backed by pretty good warranties. If I had to go for only one wide prime, I am replacing this with the sigma 16mm f1.4 contemporary. Its bigger and undoubtedly heavier but better quality than this for sure and ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES WITH AF. That can be so frustrating to shoot a whole session only to find out after, you have to go and do it over because the lens isn't behaving as it should. If this is all you can afford, go ahead and roll the dice. Its a good looking lens and sharp, but the quality and longevity may not be there with this offering from sony.

We have a 50mm and a 35mm prime lens. We needed a lens for landscapes and interiors so this is where this lens comes into play. The edges do appear a little warped but everything else is sharp. Not a bad lens for your average amateur but pros should consider the pricier options.

We recently purchased this for a trip to Colorado so we could get some "artsy" photos of the mountains snd terrain. It made for some great photos. The detail of the shots were excellent. We were able to adjust thr settings on the camera for optimal picture clarity. I would post a few but do not have them on this computer.
