Not bad sound for the price but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has a decent sound for something so small and in that price range but doesn't support ARC which means you kind of have to use optical. So no auto power on/off no single remote for volume and mute...you may be able to use an all in one like a harmony remote but i didnt want to replace my remote just for the sound bar. The features are not great but it definitely sounds better than TV speakers and has some presets for audio styles and listening preferences. The sub is surprisingly punchy for its size but won't be shaking the floor during movies by any means.

It’s OK
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Generally it’s good quality product, very compact and powerful with very clear sound! However subwoofer is not as good as I expected and sometimes you feel it’s switched off while actually it’s on. Another disappointing issue for Sony the voltage for Amplifier has dual voltage capability 110V/220V with 50Hz/60Hz, but subwoofer is only designed to work with 120V and 60 Hz. That is strange why the same system should have such discrepancy.

Great value at the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds really well. Small so it fits easily. Love that it has a few different sound modes and NFC and Bluetooth connections so we can play audio from our phones and tablets. Gets surprisingly loud. I have had it for about a month and I don't think I've maxed out the volume yet.

Great first sound bar.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a great buy, easy setup. Everything connected easy. Device uses a optical connection . Sound is clear and on point For a starter sound bar. And for the price. Sub can fit under the couch easy and there is a setting for that also. I'm very happy with this unit.

Powerful sound out of this little thing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pretty impressed with the sound that came out of such a small system. It’s great for tight spaces. Only thing I dislike about it is that the remote literally has to point directly at the sound bar because it’s not very sensitive. If the subwoofer isn’t turned all the way up, you pretty much have a boom box ha ha ha. For the price I paid though...its worth it

Big Sound in a little bar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Bought while on sale so the cost was great, easy setup and the sound bar itself is amazing (i.e. if explosions or glass is breaking, somehow this little bar will project these sound behind you ... my jaw dropped when i heard it the first time) 4/5 stars Cons: the sub woofer ... just does not perform ... 2/5 stars. Also Sony's App (SongPal) is ok, connects via bluetooth to the product just fine, but the app bugs get in the way of enjoyment of use. This product would have got 5/5 stars, but bass output from the sub is what disappoints me. Still, for the price and the soundbar itself this would make a great first soundbar for people who are shopping around.

Sony soundbar nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a soundbar that was not big but small enough for a bedroom. This soundbar was perfect since it is small with good sound and bass which checks my requirements. The Bass unit is small and not big but still gives a good bass sound.

Great Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife purchased this for my Bday because of space limitations.. It is much smaller compared to the standard soundbar. However, the size does not take away from the clarity of the product. Sound and subwoofer are GREAT . Would highly recommend.

Good quality, compact footprint.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you can get this for sub $150, you will not find a better soundbar system. It is compact and clear. High-highs and punch lows. Only drawback is no HDMI-ARC controls. Purchasing the One For All universal Roku remote is highly recommended to be able to control this device and a TCL Roku TV from one remote.

Good sound, but awkward having to use two remotes.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Samsung television and a Samsung sound bar, but found the sound bar would not fit in my available space. Therefore, I purchased this Sony sound bar, which does fit, but results in my having to use a separate remote to adjust the volume when the sound bar is turned on...not a big deal, but somewhat annoying. Otherwise, the sound bar does create more of a theater-like sound, especially when watching movies, which is when I usually turn it on. I purchased this as an "open box" item and it was additionally reduced, so I got a very good price and am happy with the purchase.

Excellent for a small room/area
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony system is very compact but still gives a decent amount of sound/ impact while watching movies. Regular tv the voices are distinct and clear. Remember your looking at a compact system so your not getting the $1,000 sound here but it’s definitely enough for a small room. I give 4 stars because of the lack of finer adjustments on the remote.

Nice speaker bar.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice speaker bar, small, low profile, great sound! Very easy set up. Virtually plug & play. Sony products rarely disappoint. I would have given it a 5 if I had more control of the bass level. Sometimes I really want that bass to BUMP. Like when I play certain songs. Overall, worth buying & a fair price.

Sounds good.

Great form and crisp audio
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony usually goes for function over form but that is not the case with the HTMT300/B. It is sleek, small, and delivers for the price tag. It is made for smaller rooms and is great for a apartment or a small family room. The sub is perfect to fit behind a couch. I disagree with some reviews that it sounds small when paired with a large TV. I really like it's minimalist footprint and straight forward remote. If you prefer to have your music on a flash or external hard drive there is a USB port on the soundbar. Any Bluetooth device is compatible. Keep the manual handy because there are some cool functions that take a few references before they can be memorized.

Decent soundbar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been following this Sony and 2 other soundbars for a while, because I could not decide which one to buy. Ultimately got a good deal with the open box for this one. It was really in like new condition, relatively easy setup, although I was a bit confused about pairing it with a wireless sub. There is a button to push to do so, but it did not pair right away. Not sure what it was but eventually I did it. Most important part of the review: Sound is good, BUT, it's not 5 times better as the Logitech computer speakers I bought for $40 (I got this sound bar for $180). To clarify, I took this soundbar to use it instead of those PC speakers, as I like music and while working on the computer, I always have music in the background. The long term plan is to eventually use this sound bar with a TV. ( Another negative point, which I was aware before: no HDMI, just optical cable connection available if you want to connect with TV. Summary: It's a solid soundbar IF: 1) you are ok with not having HDMI and 2) you get it for $200 or less. The MSRP price of $350 is simply ridiculous. Don't pay this much. Not worth it.

Nice compact size but lacks bass and mids
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The construction quality is what you would expect from Sony - very nice. The compact size is fantastic for a smaller setup. Unfortunately, the sound bar itself doesn't have a display showing volume and inputs other than the LED lights on the top of the unit. The LEDs can be difficult to see when you are seated on a couch watching TV which makes it difficult to determine which sound mode you are in. When watching cable television channels, the audio quality was not much better than the television speakers - no bass whatsoever. When watching 4K Blu-ray movies, the highs were well defined and the sub seemed to cover the mids well but the bass was too weak to give the punch you would want. After spending several days working with the various audio settings, I decided this was not the product for me.
