For years we thought about purchasing a surround sound system for our big screen TV. The room is not overly large so we were afraid the sound would overpower the room. We looked into a sound bar and the Sony model was perfect. We didn't know what we were missing listening to the just the tv sound. Wish we bought this sound bar sooner, The Bluetooth/wireless subwoofer is great.

The Sony soundbar is a great addition to the TV. The sound is great and the subwoofer give the bass comparable to more expensive ones.

I recommend this soundbar set up. If you're not trying to drop a thousand for the Bose or high end LG go with this. Clarity and good bass on music and sound good on regular tv, haven't got to watch a good action movie to test yet

I bought this on a deal as a present for someone but then they didn't want it I plugged it up to my Sony system and it sounded great

This soundbar has great sound, the amp is awesome and it can blow your house down. However, as many other reviewers have mentioned and we dismissed as being un-technologically savvy, it does indeed come unconnected intermittently with the TV which is really annoying. Overall, still very happy with it despite its known issues. Love the bluetooth feature.

Soundbar and base combo complement each other perfectly. Many different features and variable options make this very versatile and adjustable for savvy techno wizards. Sound quality is exceptional as expected with Sony. Only complaint: while it gets fairly loud with music in Bluetooth mode, the TV mode does not get as loud as one would hope or expect.

i purchased my sony soundbar last year and i couldnt be happier. it sounds great. its so nice to have tje remote control too.

We wanted this sound bar for a second TV which is a Westinghouse. It was a little tricky to install because the TV did not have an optic port. After carefully searching the sound bar instructions, we found a way around this problem. Once the sound bar was installed correctly, we were happy with the improvement in the quality of the sound.

Hooking up the unit was quite simple. It included an optical cable to receive audio signals from the TV (not useful if your TV has no optical output, of course). There's also an HDMI connector which lets the TV on/off switch turn the sound bar on and off in tandem. There's a SongPal smartphone app to control the sound bar in case the remote is out of reach. I am easily able to stream music from my phone over the sound bar via Bluetooth. If you download mp3 files to a USB drive, you can easily plug it in and play off that. I purchased an open box unit and it didn't come with the manual. My ears aren't the keenest, so I can't offer too much opinion on the sound quality, but it with the subwoofer, it produces more bass than the TV's built-in speakers can produce.

Easier to set up. Good sound and small. Affordable option.

The sound is great! I like it much more than the Zvox, that I eventually returned.

Disclaimer: I have an Amazon Echo and an Amazon Echo Dot in my house. I've had them much longer than my Google Home. Now that that is out of the way. I bought the Google Home on the urging of my 12 year old son. It does everything the Echo does. Some responses are better, some worse. It can control everything that my Echo already does. I don't have Chromecast, but I do havean Amazon Fire Stick, so Google won't control that, obviously. I also have 4 Rokus in my house, either the Echo nor the Home will control any of them, didn't expect them to. All that being said, if you have an Echo, the Home is redundant. If you don't have an Echo and you have Android devices, definitely get the Home. You won;t be disappointed!

I was super excited to get my new Sony soundbar home to try it out. For the size and price point it sounds decent. The depth of sound helps over basic tv speakers but my tv speakers are actually louder than this system. I think this would be great for a smaller tv, under 40 inches, in a small room with low ceilings.

I wanted a sound bar for my Samsung TV because the volume and quality by itself was not great. I really knew nothing about sound bars, except what I had read online. I went into the store thinking I would spend under $150. The Best Buy staff pointed me in the direction of this sound bar because it was a $400 product on sale for $249. He demonstrated the difference in quality and tinniness in different price points. I ended up taking his advice and really like the sound I now have with my TV.

I have this set up in a small 11x10 bedroom. I'll say it does well there. Any larger and you would definitely have to turn it up over halfway. Be wary if you have shedding pets, it is a hair magnet. I have to clean it every 3 days or so. Looks really nice, sounds okay, but that sub-woofer. What can i say? Pretty much pointless to include it. For as large as it is, you would think it would be fine. I was doubting other reviewers when they said they could barely hear it. I figured that they were just in a room too large for it. I was wrong. As I said, I am in an 11x10 room. I sit about 3 feet from it. It is turned up as loud as it will go and I really would not notice if it was accidentally turned off or missing. It is shockingly bad, especially for Sony. I gave it 3.5/5 for ease of use, set up, looks, and price. Lost 1.5 for the sub-woofer alone. Cant do half scores so I rounded it up to 4/5 because of everything else. If you need bass look elsewhere. Seriously, don't bother at all. If you can deal with no bass, like the looks, and are in a smallish room, then i would get it.

Purchased this Sony Sound Bar after returning a more recognizable named device (in terms of audio quality), The quality of sound this device puts out is phenomenal compared to other sound bars in the same price range (and actually those in a higher price range as well.) This Sony sound bar projects the sound upward, towards the ceiling, giving a more balanced, surround sound type feel than most other sound bars that project the sound directly towards you, Very easy set up.

Overall good sound bar system. The one touch connectivity is a little sensitive but would highly recommend.

Got this sound bar on sale to replace TV sound system on a Sony XBR55X900E. Sound bar is easy to connect and the wireless subwoofer was found immediately. TV Remote will control the volume. Different sound fields (TV, Movies, Music, etc.) adjust the background music and dialogue volume. Wish subwoofer volume would go higher. Noticed some sound lag/lip sync issues between TV and soundbar, turning off the soundbar and turning back on usually fixes it.

I originally was looking at another product but happened to hear this while walking thru the store. To me the sound was better than the product I originally liked. After asking several questions and looking at a couple of reviews, I decided this product at $100 less was well worth trying. I'm happy I did!

I love this sound bar and was worth the price, can't be beat. Excellent enhancement to my tv. I would highly recommend this to anyone who looking for a sound bar for their tv, game system etc.
