I bought this soundbar and wireless subwoofer with my Sony XBR 850D. At the time of purchase they had a bundle deal that made this soundbar priced at $299.99. This was definitely worth it. The sound is exceptional with nice lows with the subwoofer and high notes with the added tweeters on the soundbar. This soundbar and wireless subwoofer definitely elevates the sound quality compared to just my TV's stock 10W speakers. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is in the market for better sound quality in this price range.

We bought this last year in thanksgiving and the sound quality for its price is one of the best. The quality of the sound and bass was what made us buy this system. We went to Best Buy and compared with other systems and we found that this system was by the best. The reason for giving 3 stars is that within a year we had to give this system to Best Buy to fix it due to Software reasons. After a while it would not sync with our TV. The reason we were told of the failure was that there was a software issue in the system. The sound quality is great but sending it twice in a year to fix the issue was not something that we expected

There is plenty of clear sound from this sound bar and woofer in my home which is less than 1000 sq ft. Living room is probably 12x15. I use a brand new 85" Sony tv. Good for streaming music. 4K hdr is nice. Very clean dialogue and full bass for action sequences in movies. I do not max out volume but I tried it once and there was no distortion. I kept the sub setting no more than 6 during this max test. I did buy it open box and saved 140.00 so I'm getting my money's worth And I'm very happy. If you were going to pay 499 for it - I think it would be worth it depending on your room size, but there is probably louder and clearer out there for 600 or a bit more...have my XBOX ONE S & PS4 HOOKED UP WITH 4K HDR ENHANCED HDMI SETTINGS AND LOOKS GORGEOUS

I have a one year old Sony XBR65X930C that I bought from Best Buy last December. The picture is awesome but the sound is mediocre. I have the Sony hooked up to a home theater system for NetFlix and DVD movies and sports events but for general TV use, I don't want to pack hours onto my sound system so I got this sound bar for daily use. Best Buy had an "open box" special that saved me $90. The soundbar and sub arrived safely but the "quick start setup" instructions were only in Spanish. No habla Espanol so I Googled the directions from the Sony website. I am using this sound bar for TV only (my DVD and turntable are on the main system) so setup required only one HDMI cable (supplied) connected to the TV HDMI ACC input and then into the back of the HDMI ACC output on the soundbar. Simple, eh? Not really quite that easy and it required turning the TV off a few times to get the sound bar to sync with the TV. All my FiOS remotes and my home theater remotes operate the soundbar volume. The subwoofer is simple - plug and play once the sound bar is hooked up. The sub also has it's own volume on the remote. The volume is adjustable for multiple "soundfields" - the standard stuff like movie, music, sports, game and "clear" which sharpens voices. In summary, once I found the directions in English online, it took about 15 minutes to pair the sound bar and sub with the TV. It took longer to mount the soundbar to my mantel than for setup and actual pairing would have been 5 minutes less if my cats hadn't turfed the mounting brackets and screws all over the kitchen floor. The price on this soundbar went up dramatically just a few days after I bought it for $209.00 for the open box. It's now $399 new (was $299) and open box is $279 so look around or wait ofr a sale to get the best price.

The sound is incredible. The voices are clear while the booming sound effects are in your face. Great price for a great sound system for movies and music!

I purchased this as an open box and on Black Friday I also got two ZR5 wireless speakers Two pair with the system. Price was great and it took about 30 minute to setup. I recommend that you download the SongPal app on your phone first. Trough the app you can connect the system to your wifi and then through the software updates and finally you can group all you speakers. If few days after you setup the audio signal stop working don't panic. Restart you router and then unplug the power from your bar for 1 minute, that will reconnect your system to your wifi.

Love the sound that the soundbar puts out. Only complaint is I have to use multiple remotes for tv and sound.

I original bought the model below and this one was put on sale so I purchased. This sound bard is incredible. Great sound, Great bass and it has 4K Passthrough with Dolby Digital. If you are wanting good sound but don't want to have 5 speakers with wire running, this is the sound bar for you

This sound bar has excellent sound quality, it's easy to hook up and it comes with many different functionality.

I had the Sony HT-CT390 soundbar before which I needed to return due to a white noise problem, but am I glad I upgraded to the Sony HT-CT790. What a difference! This soundbar makes watching my XBR-55X850D even more exciting. Though you can only make adjustments to the subwoofer level (and maxed that one out with level 12) the overall sound is really nice. I also extremely appreciate Sony they added an DLNA media player which even can playback HiRes (up to 192 kHz / 24-bit) music files, wow! Am considering adding 2 surround speakers ... but the 2.1 soundbar emulates 5.1 sound quite nicely already. Highly recommended, yes!

I had to get a new digital sound system to work with my new Sony 48" HD TV and Blue-Ray player. It works well, takes up little space and the sound is much better than the TV speakers.

I am really happy with my SONY HTCT-790 soundbar. All of my music and tv just comes to life in a new way. I am still exploring the many features this soundbar offers. Out of the gate, i must say I was pleasingly stunned by the crisp, clear and rounded sound quality I have NEVER heard in any other sound bar.

Combined with my Sony X930D, & Panasonic UB900 4K BluRay player, this soundbar combines everything to perfection! With HDMI 2.2 compliant ports, then 790 transfers 4K videos, & sound to the TV effortlessly. Nice remote, w/a variety of options, & Bluetooth connectivity just Great for those who might like to stream music or mirror their iPad or iPhone. Sound quality is very nice, w/a huge library of options to set to your own personal preference. For me, it was important there was no loss in 4K picture degradation when connecting to this soundbar, but not to worry-Simply Perfect!

I picked up this soundbar to replace the factory speakers in my Toshiba 40 inch LED flat screen TV. I was impressed by all of the features including full support for 4K, 3 HDMI inputs, ethernet port for full home network support, and the ability to upgrade with additional Sony wireless speakers. I looked a few other models, but the team at my local Best Buy helped me make the right choice.

It sounds great, however BT option sounds way better than the other sources, there is quite a difference.

The sound from the sound bar is great if you turn it up to its loudest volume. But who would want to listen to something as loud as a theater setting in a medium sized room in their home? I was quite disappointed, especially since this is a Sony item. I will have to return. Not worth the money. I see no significant difference in sound at a normal volume level.

I love the surround sound that this product provides for the living room. It has just the perfect amount of power and base for the typical size town house that I live in.

I bought this soundbar to complement my 65" Sony 4K tv. I plugged it in and it connected right away. This was where my satisfaction ended. I turned on a movie and the vocals barely came through. I turned the volume up to where I could hear it and realized I had maxed it out. There was no balance to the sound whatsoever and it could not get loud enough to fill my living room. When connected to my phone via Bluetooth the sound finally came back to life and was what I was hoping for but unfortunately I mostly need it for the tv. I took it back and got the LG SH7B and am very happy with it. I'd recommend just using the tv over paying for this Sony soundbar.

I bought this sound bar and it was great for about 2 months. It would take 5 min to start up and once started i couldnt control it at all, decides the volume. It would stay frozen on one input and no sound. After turning off it would take 5 min to turn off. tried hard reset but nothing worked. Got it fixed and it worked for a month and now the same problems are happening agaim even with the new update. Now i habe to take it back once again and wait up to a month again for it to be fixed. Dont even want it anymore! looked for similar problem online and alot of people have the same issues.

The sound quality coming out of the soundbar and subwoofer is very clear and crisp. The major issue with this soundbar is that it is not loud at all. We recently purchased this soundbar to go with our new Sony XBR65x900e. When we watch movies we have found that even at MAX volume, it is not loud enough. I still have my old Samsung HW-550 and we hooked it up for comparison and the Samsung is louder at 80% than the Sony is at 100%. I will be returning this item and speaking with salesman in hopes of finding a soundbar that actually has some power behind it.
