I was looking for an inexpensive but quality sound base, which is more difficult to find with the increasing dominance of sound bars. The price was right and the Bluetooth features are great; my only criticism is that the app for the iPhone could be improved to be more intuitive.

I did not want a separate subwoofer on the floor. This unit is a sleek design, and fits perfectly under my 40" tv. I love that it has 3 HDMI inputs with a pass through. The sound fields are great, and the bass is quite strong. I do not like that there is no volume control on actual soundplate; there is only power, pairing, and input. All volume control must be done by the remote. The remote is long and skinny with the basic, important features on the outside, and it expands to reveal more menu options inside. It is supposedly the same remote used on more expensive Sony units, but I don't like it. I'd rather have all buttons accessible at once. Bluetooth and music are great and easy to pair. The unit has NFC, but I do not have any devices to pair with that. I would say that this unit offers one of the best balances for both movies and music. I highly recommend it if if meets your needs.

I bought this for a small living room because the speakers on the TV just weren't cutting it. I've always had good luck with Sony products, so I bought this. It's good because of the HDMI outputs because my Samsung TV doesn't have digital audio outputs, plus it allows you to hook up an Xbox and a Blu Ray player and get good quality sound. The only downside is, I just wish it had a little more bass, but overall a good sounding unit. Not very conducive for big spaces, but it is really good for a small to medium size living room.
