good sound quality and volume for tv or movies, but not great sound quality for music. My tv is not a sony tv, so my tv remote does not control volume of the sound bar. Which means an additional remote and you have turn volume of the tv to zero otherwise there is an echo with the sound bar.

easy to install , great sound for a bedroom size , a must have for someone that needs better sound than standard TV, 3 HDMI inputs and one output makes it easy to install devices without the need of a receiver and speakers

The Sony2.1 channel TV sound system produces very good sound. The easy to use remote enables you to select the desired sound effect for the source (music, sports, movies etc.) you are watching. It is also a bluetooth device and is very easily paired to a phone or tablet.

The remote is black-on-black so it is difficult to locate and operate a desired feature, especially for my elderly mother. I bought it for her so she could hear dialogue better for TV shows and movies. The sound quality is very good and I think it is a better product than a sound bar.

I bough this unit and the new htxt2 to compare. Look up htxt2 to see my review on it. This unit wins hands down. The htxt1 has great loud sound and great bass. The bluetooth works great to listen to Pandora or any thing on your mobile device. Sounds great with movies and tv. One thing that I don't like is the plastic surround on the front grill. Looks a little cheap. The song pal app is great for this unit. You can do all sound adjustment and turn the unit on and off with the app. A+ FOR SONY. Positive - great loud clear sound - great Bass with the 2 built in subs - using conductivity - quality casing with glass top. Negative - a little cheap looking front plastic bezel - not wifi

We wanted a sound system that was compact but with good sound . . . tried another brand but we didn't like how it sounded or looked, so we exchanged it for this Sony unit and we are happy with our decision.

Very good sound system in general for our 50" Samsung TV. I like that it's low profile as well, sound quality is good, Bluetooth works well. We do get a delay at startup with our TV for some reason.

I like the fact that I can put my TV on this speaker. The sound is nice considering the subwoofers are built-in. Overall, for watching general TV and movies, it is a nice purchase. Can't seem to get good sound with Bluetooth from my phone. Low volume.

I purchased the Sony sound system because I wanted to improve the sound quality for my tv. This was a great buy, because it does exactly that and more. I can connect it to my Android smart phone through NFC and play audio through bluetooth.

This makes the tv sound so much more clear! After trying it out at the store it was something I had to get for a good price! I like it better than the sound bar because you can put your tv on top so it doesn't take that much more space.

We purchased our first Smart TV (Sony) and were concerned about the sound since the speakers are on the bottom. The salesperson recommended the Sony sound bar system. The TV sits on top of it so it takes up little space and sounds great.

I love this product. For an all in one home theater speaker, this one is absolute incredible. Love the 3 HDMI it offers that the other competitors lack of. It has a variety of options for sound quality and the design on this thing is so sleek & simple. For a small room, this sound system is definitely the one to get. Thank you Sony for another great product. Oh yes, almost forgot, the bluetooth connection on this thing is awesome & very simple to do, just pair & play.

This sound base is a nice addition to my entertainment system with features a Somy TV with poor audio. Voice and background music is excellent. Bass is okay on this set considering you are saving space by not having an extra subwoofer laying around the room. I have found at times the bass is just about right and other times the sub woofer (located on the bottom of the base) gets "overwhelmed" if you will. With that said, this is an excellent purchase for a small room and will without a doubt enhanc your TV audio experience. Buy with confidence!

Considering our available space prevented a full sound system, this soundbar does an amazing job. I couldn't be happier with the sound quality and low frequency capability. The only reason I reduced my rating to 4 stars is because when I turn on my TV, I have to manually toggle the soundbar to the correct input in order get the sound to come on. I've done some very quick and dirty research on this issue and it seems to be because I'm not using a Sony TV and therefore the soundbar doesn't seamlessly communicate with other brands through the HDMI cable. Perhaps someone more tech savvy can figure it out, but I don't think it should be that complicated.

I switched from a surround sound to a soundbar to save space. I read some other reviews before purchase and tested the systm at the store before buying. I definitely is a step up from the cheapest systems and the built-in speakers on the TV. The sound from my video game systems is great but the sound from the satellite dish is just OK. It only has 5 preset sound settings and there doesn't seem to be much difference between them. I would have liked more control over the individual levels of bass, midrange and high end sounds. It is compatible with a SongPal app, I tried it but I found it confusing. I like that it fits under the TV and you set the TV on it, which saves some space on our entertainment system. I am enjoying the system but I wish there were more customizable options when it comes to sound quality.

The Speakers I bought with my TV weren't as good as expected, but after spending so much on a TV I didn't want to spend too much. This makes such a huge difference, the sound quality is excellent. I've also put more weight on the unit than I probably should have but it is holding a 65" television without an issue so while I wouldn't put anything bigger on it, it can definitely withstand a little more than advertised.

I went in to the store with the intention of buying a sound bar when I came across these new sound stands. After comparing a few on the floor I asked a salesman for assistance. He asked my budget and some TV questions and recommended this Sony product. I've been very impressed with the sound output. Very rich and full. Fills our living room very nicely and clearly. We've used the Bluetooth feature and were very impressed as well. Setup couldn't have been easier either. One simple optical cable (included in the box) and you're up and running. Couldn't ask for anything simpler.

I got to start off by saying that this sound bar is great bought it with my 50 inch 4k TV and it looks fantastic in my living room very sleek. The sound is very clean and you can tweek the subwoofer volume and treble to make it perfect. The only issue I've noticed is when using optical audio cables I will hear some crackeling in the speakers at loud volumes but when using HDMI i don't have that same sound.

Excellent Sony product! The three HDMi inputs in the rear of the unit are very accessible with all of my electronics (Blu-Ray Player, PS4 and Wii U. Great sound quality for the price. Also, saves space with the built-in sub.

Great sound base. Easy to set up, basically plug and play. Gives you the sound of a more expensive and elaborate system in a smaller and cheaper package. DVD movies especially sound great!
