Recently I purchased this item from a Bestbuy location in Union Square NYC and I did not hear how it sounded and I took it home set it up and tried it out and I was very impressed. This sound stand in made so that your HDTV can safely sit on top of it. Hats off to you Sony/ Bestbuy once again.

I think I trusted the reviews too much on this product. Yes, obviously the sound is much better than TV speakers. No, this product does not provide better sound than a soundbar/subwoofer combo as some reviewers stated, and I'd laugh at anyone who compares this to a home theater/surround sound setup. Only buy this product if you want the space savings/simplicity of a sound base.

Was looking for something to enhance the sound for the TV in our bedroom and had limited space. This was perfect as the TV could sit on top of it. The sound is very good. Easy to install.

Used to have a sound bar. It was decent, but it didn't have any bass with it. This makes those action movies sound like a movie theater! Highly recommended. Not too expensive either!

i was having a difficult time trying to find the perfect system for our master bedroom. I wanted an improvement over the TV speakers but wasn't interested in a full 5.1 system. I wanted more bass but not earth shaking (didn't want to wake the little ones when watching a movie late at night). Wanted to hear the voices better while not having to crank everything else up. I also wanted it to be reasonably priced. This thing meets all of my needs (wants) and more. We love it and are very happy with our purchase.

Bought this due to muffled sound from a new TV. It seems that the programmed selectable sound modes don't quite work well with my room and my audience...we are always fiddling trying to make it clearer. Seems that there are often ambient sounds in the program being amplified to the detriment of voice and music. Also, there is about a ten-second pause as the TV switches from internal to external speakers after power-up, which may or may not be the TV's fault. But, very compact and the best choice for my needs.

Speaker has good sound and the bass is pretty good considering there isn't a separate subwoofer. I like the fact that my 32 inch LED TV can sit on top of the unit to conserve space.

I wanted the Bose Solo 15 ,but got this for half the price. It was a smart move. Great sound. Easy to hook up. I recommend it.

This sound base really surprised me. It has nice clear dialog and a great thump for movies. It was also easy to pair my phone with it as well. the sound was great!,

I was considering the comparable Bose sound system. The Sony sound system has better sound quality and has three HDMI inputs and it cost less then the Bose system.

I did not like the sound system on my tv. Went to Best Buy, had a demo of Sony 2.1 sound system. You can't beat the sound for music, tv or watching a movie.

We like the fact that the TV sits on the speaker system so there aren't any big speakers to sit on the floor. The sound is good, and it was easy to hook up.

This sound bar doses double duty The TV in our master bedroom is on the wall and our dresser sits under the TV. I put this sound bar on the dresser because I can stack the Cable box on top of it along with the blue ray player and the clock . Everything is stack on top of each other . The dresser sit low enough that the clock is at eye level it let's me see wat what time it is when I first wake up It give my my dresser a clean look and the sound quality is excellent for the master bedroom. Also I can pair my iPhone with this and play my iTunes . Excellent sound clean lines I truly like this product It a Sony

This is much better than my TV speakers, Of course there are better systems out there but for the price you cant beat it. I put it in my bedroom and i love it.

Bought it for my dad. Had great sound, pretty easy to set up. If you want better sound without a receiver or wiring surround it is a great product.

I was able to setup this Soundbar with all my Electronics in minutes. The sound is great when watching movies and listening to music.

I tried a $250 sound bar and found the sound tinny, with the only base coming through vibrations of the floor. As I live in an apartment, the vibrations are totally unacceptable. This Sony under the TV system at $300 is an awesome product. Love the sound effect settings on the remote. Sound has wide, continuous spectrum with good base. Bose's under the TV unit is better of course but it doesn't have the sound effects. I would rate the Sony a good, much lower cost alternative. Sound bars just don't make it for me.

Linking this speaker to a late model Sony TV and Comcast box with HDMI cables is so simple it's unbelievable. And as a bonus the Comcast remote controls both the column and on/off. We bought speaker to improve sound quality, especially voices, for my 90 yr old mother. She can now understand dialogue without having TV volume set at 85. We will definitely be buying additional speakers to complement our tvs

I love that this is made for a tv to sit on top of it. I have a 55" and it fits perfectly. Great sound from something so small!

I love this thing! It's not surround sound. So don't buy it thinking it is. What it is though, is a killer sounding system that makes my television and movie viewing, as well as my music listening a great experience. I have a Samsung smart tv and the speakers on it are okay, but not very good for movies or music. I'd buy another one for my bedroom if my wife would let me (I already tried).
