I love this sound platform. I bought it for my office. I just took it out of the box, set my tv on top of it, hooked up the hdmi cable and had great sound without having to run wires to satellite speakers.

I wanted something that would not clutter up the entertainment center. This does the trick. Your TV rests on top of it. The sound is very good. 3 HDMI inputs and one out to the TV. Bluetooth sync your phone to use it as a wireless speaker. Sleek glass top and touch controls. Has a remote as well. I dont like the way sound bars either sit under your TV or require mounting. Worth buying.

This works well with most of the items we have plugged into it (Roku 3, Apple TV and a DVD/bluRay player), it does not work well with our actual TV. Our Westinghouse TV lacks the right connection to be able to have the sound bar go on and off with the TV remote (and actually we cannot get the sound from the TV to come through the speaker at all), while that is certainly annoying, we use the TV primarily for one of the other devices listed, so it works fine for us. If you watch a lot of TV and have a Westinghouse TV, this is probably not the right choice for you.

The sound produced by this bar is ample enough not to need any further speakers in a small room. Larger rooms it would not hold its tone compared to a sound system or a receiver w/ studio monitor speaker setup. For the price around 200$ its value far out weighs its negatives. A simple studio speaker setup will cost in excess of 800$ and up past 1000$, depending on what your idea of minimum needs are. There are some packaged home theaters but the price point and quality don't match for example rca and yamaha 5ch theaters around 150$. At any point 2 good bookshelf monitors and a ok receiver will always cost more than 500$ ( not including all your extras like longer speaker wire or fancy remotes).

I put this soundplate under my 40" Sony LED TV and it fits perfectly! After some tweaking, it sounds great for something without a separate sub. Clear, crisp, full audio at lower or higher volumes.

Much better than TV speakers, not too expensive. They sound good but I think they could even sound better.

I use this with my 27 " screen and gaming setup. First game I played was Battlefield 4, I was blown away by the crisp and hi-fidelity sound. Fully recommended for small and medium rooms.

I researched several similar products before settling on the Sony HTXT1, including some more expensive some less expensive models but the craftsmanship and Sony name won me over. It blends in with my black bedroom furniture so well my wife didn't even notice it when she came home. It's everything I wanted to bring my 47" television to life, the sound is superb even at low levels and doesn't disturb others outside my bedroom; unless I want it to!

I purchased this unit for my bedroom as I got tired of dealing with a receiver then fighting with the soundbar blocking my ir input on the TV. This seemed like the perfect solution as it had plenty of surface area to hold my 50 inch tv and get rid of the receiver. I have a decent sized bedroom 18/22 and the sound out of this unit is plenty big to fill that space. My only complaint to this point is the sound is not nearly as crisp as what I was hearing in the store...maybe with some break-in time that will improve. Summary it is a good unit that will fill a large room but don't expect it to replace your full 5.1 or better sound system...understand they serve different purposes.

Great product; well built and great performance. I was going to buy a sound card for my computer but didn't need to; I hooked up my computer's analog connection to it and it sounds great, I also hooked it up to my laptops Bluetooth connection, it also sounds great. And lastly I hooked it up to my DVD Blue-ray player and it also sounds great! I would have purchased this product; even if it weren't on sale. The sale price just added icing to the cake! My recommendation is a definite BUY NOW before it sells out!

I wanted better sound and was going to get the Bose TV Speaker system and came across this Sony version and was glad I waited. It works seamlessly with my Sony TV. It is on my dresser under the TV and doesn't take up much space. And with Bluetooth I can play music from my iPhone. I have a 26" LCD TV which looks small on top of the sound system but eventually will get a 32" LED model. Sony products last long so it will be awhile before I do that.

The Sony HT-XT1 is a great soundbar for adding richer, more dynamic sound to your TV. The sleek design allows for the TV to sit right on top, giving the TV a better viewing height and the built in subwoofers makes this a perfect all-in-one, with no need for any additional speakers or wires. I was also really impressed how responsive the speakers are when playing music. This won't replace a true surround sound set up, in my opinion, but if you're looking to improve the sound from your TV, I highly recommend checking out the Sony HT-XT1.

Extremely easy to setup and operate. Made a huge difference to our TV enjoyment because speakers are on the back of flat screens!

I purchased this soundbar to get some extra volume out of the TV while working on a treadmill. Decent sound quality for the price point

This sound base is amazing. I have had many sound bars and bases over the years. Easy hookup and great sound to fill my bedroom.

I love this thing. It sounds nice and clear when both loud and quiet. I just wish i had more control over the audio settings.

Produces good sound with some channel separation. Rich bass and full range of audio. Lets the TV sound like TVs used to when they had full size speakers and large clunky cabinets.

I am older and have trouble understanding some words spoken by actors thru the tiny tv speakers (asking my wife - what did they say). Since installing the HTXT1 I can understand every word. My cable box remote turns on the cable box, the tv and the speaker with the touch of one button. It also controls all 3 systems.

I am really enjoying this new sound system. For me, space considerations were important, and being able to set it under my big screen TV works fabulous! Sound is great for music and movies and for the price!

I'm not a sound buff. But this one did give notably better sound quality than a sound bar (Energy BTS 2.1 Bluetooth Soundbar Package with Subwoofer) that I tried earlier.
