I hadn't bought a TV in over 5 years, but I was stunned at how much technology has changed. The picture is sharper, the weight is lighter and what you get for the price unbelievable. I will say that I ordered the TV to be delivered to my home and it came with a crack in it. I was able to exchange it at the store with no hassle. The customer service at the store said this wasn't the first time they had seen this same problem with this TV. In the end, having it delivered to the store for pickup would have been less hassle.

Really easy to set up, and very light - you really need to secure it to the wall even if you set it on a cabinet. Very good picture.

Previously I had a 24" cheap LCD and decided it was time for an upgrade. Side by side this TV looked much more vibrant and crisp than the Samsung I was looking at in the store. Every game and movie I've played on it has looked amazing and there are plenty of options to adjust the picture. Built in speakers are great for not having a subwoofer. If you want more bass you'll need a separate speaker setup. The smart TV functions work well, just make sure you keep the apps updated. All in all, this is the best TV I've ever owned!

My new Sony Bravia has been great. It is very light, a breeze to connect and program. The picture and sound quality are fantastic.

After lots of research and window shopping I finally decided on this baby. It replaced two older sony crt's which still look great but I finally gave in and took the plunge. At first I was ecstatic at all the menus, features, settings and the picture, just WOW! If you just hook up an antenna (mine is "clear" tv) and get over the air broadcast channels most are sub hd 480 to 720p so the picture will look just "meh" on most channels and some ugly motion blur will pop up now and then. But when you hook up any device with an hdmi cable and see high def content for the first time in your living room...WOAH!!! out of this world amazing! I was blown away at the crispy clear visuals when I transitioned from av cables to hdmi while playing halo 4. I'm thinking about revisiting all my old games on this just to see what they look like in hd! The built in surround sound is awesome for games and movies(Neighbors were banging the wall during halo 4 gaming sesh- vol lvl around 11 only-lol) and on standard tv the volume past lvl 20 is too loud so the ppl complaing about the sound being tinny probably need hearing aids. The Tv itself seems very fragile but I assume higher end tvs which are even thinner are probably even more fragile than this so It's not much of a problem. Just be careful. My screen has a very light semi dark spot at the top edge (not dead pixels) but upon research i found out all lcd-led hdtvs have a light uniformity issue which creates grayish "spots" so exchanging it would be a waste of time and now i don't even notice it cuz it's so minute(unless i really focus on it up close). Considering it was delivered via ups I was surprised it arrived intact without a single dead pixel! Thank GOD!!! This is my first foray into hd and I'm happy. The box proclaims this is the ultimate gaming tv and I kinda have to agree. A lot of sites also claim sony is the leader in low lag tv's and that this model was the best sub $500 gaming hdtv. If you haven't been spoiled by the latest and greatest in hd this tv is def the best bang for your buck and you wont regret it.

Good picture. Disappointed that the remote includes regular and analog stations. Wish all instructions were printed in booklet. Would like to have the stand lift the TV another inch or two.

This particular line-up of Sony televisions has the words "The Ultimate TV for Gaming" plastered on the box. I had initially gone into the store to pick up a Samsung TV for gaming (connected to a PC), but after discussing my needs with sales staff, we decided on this model. I've been very happy with this purchase. The picture is as sharp and clear as any PC monitor that I've used, and it only needed minor tweaking (primarily to the Sharpness settings) to look "just right". More importantly, the input lag is extremely low--low enough that I don't notice it. Sure, if you're playing competitive twitch shooters that require precision lightning reflexes, this may not suit your needs, and that's what low-lag, high-end, expensive monitors made for gaming are for. For the rest of us, this TV is great for gaming. I'm using it with a high-end PC, and the TV automatically defaulted to a Picture Mode that was already suited for that purpose, minus a bit of personalized tweaking on my end. This model is available in various sizes, and I would recommend it to any interested gamers.

A great TV overall, smart features are easy to use, and tv is very light, easy to put on wall. Picture quality is one of the best and would suggest to any looking, to think Sony first.

This Smart TV has a great picture and lifelike color. It was easy to set up with my wifi and you can stream tons of apps very easily.

I wanted to upgrade our existing 40" Sony in our living room and this was a perfect fit. The tv is a great size for our smaller living room and it looks great with the modern stand and barely there bevel. Setup was easy and we haven't had any issues with smart TV apps or internet wifi connection. The only con is the price as it's a little more than its comparable counterparts.

The price was great The picture quality is a lot better than the other brands. Knowing it is a Sony makes me feel that I bought a great product. The sales person is willing to help and show the different things you can do and gives you the advantage as well as the disadvantages compare to other brands. I am very satisfied with my selection and recommend Sony to all my friends. Best Buy stands of above all other stores when it comes to customer service.

This TV has a great picture. The WiFi works well for my daughter to stream youtube and movies flawlessly. Easy set up with no issues. Even with the sale price the Sony is a little pricier. But, a side by side comparison with a previously purchased store brand and the Sony blows the store brand away. Spend the extra bucks and avoid the disappointment of a so-so tv.

I purchased this TV for my 80 year old mother for Christmas. It was so easy to set up and the picture quality was amazing. Best part is that there was nothing new for her to learn. The remote for her cable was able to control everything on the TV just like her old one that was now going to her bedroom. Nice to find a SMART TV that was easy to set up and use.

I spent a good amount of time looking for a 40-43 inch TV and this consistently came up across all sites. Great, realistic picture straight out of the box and super fast power on time (under 2 seconds) . If youre looking for a 40 inch TV under $400 this is a no brainer. **Note that this includes wall mounts that are kind of a pain to mount since there are 2 separate brackets and the standard VESA mounting brackets wont work without an adapter..

Had the other for 2 years in my home office. Started having intermittent random off and ons. Fooled around with their customer non service and finally said the only place to check it out was NJ. I am in Dallas....got the Sony, much better picture, features. Go Sony! Used them in the past and never an issue. they cost more , but you get what you pay for!

The picture quality is simply amazing. The colors are vivid, images are sharp, and the black levels are just right. The picture doesn't degrade when viewed from an angle as other TVs tend to do. The speakers produce good mid range sound, but I would recommend running audio through a system with a solid subwoofer if you want theater quality bass.

In the 40" high definition tv category, this Sony is a strong pick. The picture quality is very good, as expected from Sony, and the smart features are very good as well. In this size category it would be nice to have a sleep timer button on the remote. Overall a great television.
