I was originally looking at an LG or Samsung, and then the salesperson showed me the Sony and explained the difference. I have been very pleased since I bought it, and learning new features everyday. Only negative is the documentation is lacking, but that is what Google is for.

I bought this to replace an old Samsung 50" in my living room. Initial impressions were mediocre at best. The remote looks like an old Texas Instruments scientific calculator, but without a display. It's not intuitive to use and the delay between your input and the TVs response isn't something I could live with. The picture is nice, but nothing to get excited about. The menus are tough to dig through and the entire interface is just not a fun experience. Netflix wouldn't work. Did a hard reset and followed tech supports advice, but it never opened. The tiny little speakers are really bad as well. Poor sound output and range. After spending two weeks with this Sony I boxed it up and returned it. I spent less and got more TV from Samsung.

We moved our old Sony tv to my "man cave" as it was over 10 years old and still working perfectly! This new Sony is even better! Clear, crisp picture and easy to set up!

Picture and clarity are excellent on this Sony tv. Easy set up and combined with Bose sound bar it is an excellent choice for our den. No issues or problems with this model.

I am not a huge Sony TV fan but my wife really liked this TV when we were looking for a new bedroom unit. While I think the Samsung KS8000 is a better product overall I was pleasantly surprised by this television. The picture was pretty crisp, better than the LG it replaced. The fact it had android TV and allowed me to control it with my amazon echo was a plus. The android TV OS was also the downside of this TV. the interface was clunky and sometimes a pain to navigate. I had a lot of issues streaming hulu and hbo with this TV but could start streaming on a tablet, computer, game console, or our televisions and not have a problem (it wasn't a bandwidth issue as the tv was hardwired and we have gigabit internet). The remote was also gigantic for a TV these days, larger than my cable box remote. Overall I would give the picture of this set 4.5 stars but the OS/accessibility and its accessories a 3.

The picture on this tv is so clear. I can see clearly when watching it. The only thing I don't like is the remote control. I need light to use it in the dark.

Based on our experience with SONY TV's we felt confident that the selection of SONY 49" UHD TV for the family room was the best available. Now that the TV receives the HD channels, we see the UHD picture quality is excellent and that it enhances the viewing of all types of sports events so that the details are quite clearly visible, as well as all the information placed on the screen during the event. There are many features which we have yet to take advantage of but know with time we will find many more reasons to be very satisfied with the selection we made.

A good product and even better with promotion price. One thing I like the Smart TV is that I can stream lots of online TV and save lots of money. Since I have both Google and Apple account, it is not a big issue for me to get the movie online. Also, it works well when connecting your iPad and send the signal to the TV (I do it a lot when watching Youtube). The only issue I have so far is when connecting with my Surface Pro. Since I don't know it was because of the internet issue, the Surface issue or the TV issue, I think it is not fair it is a con for this TV so far.

Hard to beat this Sony 4K television. The pictures is really outstanding and the sound is fair for a flat panel TV. Using Google, the set-up pretty much a breeze.

It’s a great value for the size. However, be weary of the frame rate and backlight. If the image is meant to be seen as black, I’d prefer it be black, not grayish-black. The backlighting causes a washed out look if your picture settings aren’t set properly. And the frame rate is only 60hz, so if you’re a heavy gamer like I am, I’d recommend you check into other Sony models. They’re known for awesome gaming quality to pair with their gaming consoles. This particular model, however, wasn’t build so much for full HDR gaming. Other than that, standard and full HDR viewing has been great for me personally. I’d recommend it because of the value.

Good size TV with a solid picture for the price. My LG OLED 4K definitely blows this one out of the water, but this was kind of a "well it's only a little more than what I was looking at and it's 4K+HDR so why not" purchase and I'm happy with it.

The only reason we went with this tv instead of the Samsung UN49MU7000FXZA is because the Sony has 4 HDMI ports and the Samsung only had 3. The Samsung on display had a slightly better picture (colors) than the Sony. Otherwise, the picture quality is nearly identical. If you only need 3 HDMI inputs, go with the Samsung and save $100. I've had a LG 50PM6700 for the past several years and would not have replaced it if it still worked. After searching several forums, and even using recommended settings from Rtings, I still can't seem to get rid of the frame stutter during fast scenes or while playing video games. Whether it be speeding across the Ishtar Cliffs on my sparrow, or even jumping the Hellmouth, it just doesn't feel the same. Because of this reason, I can only give this tv a 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise, it is an excellent tv.
