Excellent for price range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At around 1K it doesn't get better than this! I have chosen to keep my offline as I have heard some of the updates took away a couple of features and possibly screwed up some of the apps

Best TV under $1000
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I highly recommend the Sony 49" X900E. For me no picture adjustments were necessary. My favorite feature is the TV's ability to adjust the brightness level according to ambient light. Our old plasma TV didn't handle reflections very well but that's not a problem with the Sony. This is an excellent TV for bright rooms. It works well with our Zvox soundbar through an optical cable. The only thing it doesn't do quite as well as the plasma is handling of quick motions. It's completely acceptable, just not as good as the plasma.

Sony 49’’
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony 49’’ HDR TV I purchased is fantastic. The E900 series delivers a far better picture then the E800 did. I’m glad I made the exchange. It is definitely worth the extra $200.

Amazing clarity!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got the Samsung 8000 series prior and returned it. This picture is above and beyond the Samsung. Make sure to calibrate. XBox One X and PS4 Pro look amazing! Highly recommend.

Very good buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has a great picture. The colors are fantastic & the thing I really notice are the blacks & whites. This replaced a 9 year old set that still had great HD but the new TV blows me away. The sound is "OK".I have tried to adjust it out & it is better but definitely would be much better with a sound bar.My only complaint, and one I have to get fixed is the lip sync. This doesn't happen all the time but more than I would expect from a new ,expensive TV.It is troublesome & distracting. Outside of this it is a great set.

Excellent 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research on TVs, especially on making the jump from HD to 4K. I already had a bias towards Sony, so some can take this review with a grain of salt. However, I did look at other brands and still found the Sony picture quality so much better than the others, especially without having to break the bank on getting it. I was able to get this for just under $1000 and have enjoyed it greatly. I mostly use mine for gaming (PS4) and some bluray movies/TV shows. One thing I will say is a great feature is the integration with android TV. Having this act like a semi-computer is more beneficial than I initially thought. Although I don't use all of the features, it is nice to have the ability to use my gmail account and services on my TV. I will say that one downside to this (and many other current gen. 4K, not just Sony, TVs is the sound). I have tried numerous configurations on games and can't seem to get a clean sound consistently from the TV. Sometimes it gives a weird fade noise, I can assume from trying to be surround, and it can get distracting. That being said, I do not usually crank up my sound, or I play with headphones so the sound is not TOO much of an issue. But again, definitely the weak point on the TV.

Best TV Ever!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best TV to ever grace my entertainment center. I can't begin to explain how integral it became to my smart home setup. It has become a centerpiece all it's own! What can I say to describe it...it's blacks are deep, it's colors and rich, and the smart functionality coupled with Andriod TV is complete genius. It's been an awesome experience being my first Andriod TV that wasn't a set-top box. I cant recommend it enough!! If you are able to get it for under below the retail price, even better!!

Closesout Happiness!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, I got the 49" set I needed to fill the space in my living room. I had looked at the latest 4k Samsungs and LGs, but this closeout model had a better picture than the others and better specs too. The Best Buy video specialist recommended the Sony, and I am happy with my purchase. Not being too technically savvy, I was surprised that it was easy to hook up. It's my first 4k set, and it makes going up to my mancave more difficult, even with my 70 "Sharp HD set a nice choice too.

EXCELLENT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I LOVE MY SONY TV. I COULD HAVE PURCHASED A CHEAPER TV, BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE COLOR QUALITY PICTURE THAT THIS SONY TV HAS! TO ME SPENDING MORE WAS WORTH IT.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this TV to replace my 9 year old Sony XBR 40 inch LCD TV which had started to have issues due to a failing part that is not available. I didn't want to just get any cheap replacement, so I went with this model which i hope will give me many years of good service. It has a very good picture and was easy to set up. It also doesn't have the annoying adds popping up that some of the competitors TVs are said to have. I have had it for a little over a month and would definitely purchase again.

Excellent 49"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Sony performed flawlessly in bright and dark conditions for DirectTV, Apple TV and BlueRayDVD. Very little modification in settings was required and there have been no problems in the first 50 hours of use. It was a little tricky to disable the android screens since they are annoying if you don't use your TV in that manner. I believe the android interface is an attempt to be just one device and probably works well if you're after content rather than just going to your DirectTV channels/channel guide.

Beautiful Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with this Sony 4K Ultra HD Android 49 inch 900E TV's picture quality. It fits my den perfectly. Netflix and Amazon provide Ultra 4K streaming.

Very good picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality is very good, but still no match for our Samsung plasma. Have not watched any movies so I cannot comment on 4K picture quality. Interface/menu is fine, although the Settings menu is located below the Apps, Games, and Inputs lists off the Home button - more scrolling than necessary. A possible firmware problem: in the first 6 weeks of ownership the TV has turned itself on twice in the middle of the night. Nothing like waking up to voices in the house when you've been asleep. Maybe it is updating something (we leave our wireless on) and needs to have the TV on to complete the task. Doing a search on the web, this and other unexpected behavior appears to be a Sony 'thing'. I would recommend this TV but with the caveats listed here.

Best Tv for the price!

Best 49” TV around
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m limited by space so I was looking for a 50” class tv. Tried a discount brand but was unhappy with the picture quality. Went with this one and my PS4, 4K movies, and streamed shows look amazing. My only gripe is the android tv interface. I found the Roku interface from the first tv I tried to be simpler and more user-friendly. Not a big enough gripe to drop a star. Very happy with my purchase and Best Buy’s return policy which allowed me to try another TV first.
