$500 Movie Watcher — Set it Up Right, Though

Using the TV primarily as a small-screen movie/show streamer for the kids. Immediately set-up cinema mode and did some tweaks after a quick on-line search to find the best fine-tuning of cheaper Bravia panels. Picture now excellent for the $500 level (will it look as nice as a $3-5K cinema-specific TV? C'mon...). The sound is, well, sound, but it's $500. Add a soundbar if you want something more. If your thing is high frame-rate games/sports or OTA TV, then this review won't cut it for you. But, if movies/shows with a cinema look at this price-point are what you're after, this unit can do the job (just be sure to set up the panel right—a search engine is your friend).

Impressive Sony entry
I think the value for your money is there if you are in the market for a quality tv. The picture is great and i enjoy the different settings you can change in the menu. I think the selling point is definitley the SMART feature included. It uses chromecast and while you can buy a chrome cast separately I have found it more practical to have it included with the TV. I recommend this television.

This TV went into my daughter room and it does the job. The whole setup with Google is tedious and annoying. Beside that it’s a good TV that will probably last forever.

I like my television size and the Sony brand. The picture is fitting for my needs because I didn’t want one of those really bright television set that I felt it would be too too bright for my vision.. The only downside about the Sony Bravia 2 - Google TV is that it turns off once in a while in the midst of a TV show . I think it has something to do with it having the added feature of Google, because the Google name is displayed. All and all , I like it because it’s a Sony brand and Sony makes good products.

Great picture and thin. Beware of the supports

This is my first Sony TV. Withthe price differentials with other name brands becoming less, I bought it. It is ramarkably thin and light weigt. Rhe brightness and clarity is superb. Sound is average as should be expected with its sleekness. I bought it also because the information on the web site said the legs were 10 inches apart which was important for my install. Not True. The legs are 34and3/4 inches apart. I did not return it and am happy with it. Buyer beware

This TV is pretty good all around. The Google TV interface is smooth, the remote is nice, and the picture quality is great! It has good AirPlay and Chromecast integration as well. My only complaint about the TV is that it, like all Sony TVs since 2021ish, doesn't support Miracast, meaning you can't directly cast to it from your Windows PC. You can only use AirPlay and Chromecast. Other than that, this TV is great, and I would recommend!

I’m very happy with my 50 inch Sony Bravia TV. The picture quality is outstanding, with sharp details, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast. I’m a dedicated fan. My favorite electronics brand. I still own my other two Sony TV’s. One is thirty years old and the other twenty, both still function perfectly. This is a great TV. No complaints, but I would expect nothing else.
