Normally I'm not a huge Sony TV fan but man this tv changed my mind. The contrast and especially the blacks are excellent. I read several reviews on mid range priced HDTV's and this one got better then the average for picture quality and color rendition. I agree with the reviews. Also it has several menu options to tweak the settings on the TV including eliminating the "soap opera effect" that I can't stand on the new TV's. The wifi works fine and I hooked the Ethernet cable directly and stream Netflix with no issues at all. The tv only uses 150 watts of power and is very cool. My plasma used to heat up a room. I highly recommend this tv.

The tv is snappy, fast and picture is superb. Set up was super easy! The buildin apps could be better tho, but if you are going to use third party apps such as Roku, chrome or firestick then it makes up for it.

I reviewed Sharp, LG, Samsung around the same price range and while for the most part the other models are probably all made by Sharp this Sony doesnt produce too much of that soap opera effect on movies making it look like you’re watching a home video. For some they might like that effect but for me since I watch more movies than sports it doesn’t take away from the movie experience. When watching sports it’s crystal clear but you really can’t compare it with the higher end Sony models that actually use their own screens. Another neat feature it has is the Netflix and YouTube buttons on the remote. Just press either or and it launches both apps without ads. The sound is decent but I use a sound bar anyways. It’s a little bit thicker than than Samsungs but overall I am pleased with this model.

I run my computer, blue ray (got to get a 4k unit asap), cable tv and regular tv. I have the wow effect now. Watched one of my movies in 4k and I'm in love! The price was great and I got the service contract, safe as can be.

I use this TV for gaming and have been pleased. The picture is great and the frame rate is perfect.

We bought this 50" Sony TV to replace an old 32" TV that we use only for gaming and this was a huge upgrade. We got a great price for the TV, with it being on sale, and for gaming, this TV is fantastic. The picture is great on our Xbox One. The sound is fine for gaming, but I could see maybe wanting to add a soundbar for watching lots of TV. I've watched a few movies on it and the sound was fine with the volume up, but the TV is in a small room. This TV lacks a lot of the smart TV features of the top-of-the-line TVs, but it does include Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, and Amazon Video to name a few. If you really like to stream, I would suggest using another device such as an Apple TV or Roku, etc. Overall, this TV has been great for what we bought it for, which is strictly as a gaming TV.
