I got this TV on sale and it has far exceeded my expectations. My oldish LG 50” 1080p TV stopped powering on and after a day of troubleshooting I decided the time and cost to repair it wasn’t worth while. So began my quest for a suitable replacement. I love a good TV but the wife couldn’t care less if it works - she’s the frugal one in the family. When I found this Sony 4K on sale I had to do some research to make sure the Best Buy description was accurate because I couldn’t believe the price. 4K with HDR only $449? No way right? Well it was true. I went to my local Best Buy and I saw this TV flying out the doors. To my relief they still had some and I completed my purchase to rush home and replace the LG. The picture quality, fidelity, and smoothness of this Sony TV is amazing for this price point. You have to see it to appreciate it. Obviously there are better TVs on the market like OLED and XLED sets, but this TV is a fraction of the cost and is nothing to shake a stick at. The only cons I have with the Sony is it is a decent amount thicker than the LG it replaced and the “smart tv” features are limited to the apps already installed. My LG could download apps and had a really nice remote. The apps already loaded on the Sony are the mostly commonly used apps however and they work flawlessly. If you’re in the market I say look no further. Glad I went with the Sony over the Vizio I was considering.

Easy set up. Able to set Netflix up easy. Good picture, but expected it to be a little better. TV on sale, therefore satisfied with TV for the price.

Always wanted a 50' tv and when I spotted the price on this tv and free shipping, I had to have it. The picture is crisp and clear and I don't even have cable. We cut our cable cord and went to regular antenna to cut costs. The operation is so easy with the remote having Netflix and YouTube, makes it so easy to switch back and forth from tv channels to You Tube and Netflix. I recommend this Sony tv Thanks!

I have used this set for about two months, and so far, I think this is a very high-quality set for the price range. The display in 4K resolution is very crisp, but not as vibrant as I thought it would be. The 4K picture is still very much apparent in picture quality. The 'High Dynamic Range' feature certainly is a strong replacement for dynamic contrast, which is also included within the operation of this set. High dynamic range displays deeper shades of white and black, while also producing a larger range of colors that shows with products that utilize this feature, such as 4K HDR Blu-Ray disc and 4K HDR streaming. On the PlayStation 4 PRO, 4K HDR gaming and streaming is possible. With this set, I could display 4K HDR with enabled games that show the difference in picture compared to resolutions like 1080p while playing on it. This is also a Bravia set, so there are features that can be used with the PlayStation platform (PlayStation 3 and 4). The audio package is two stereo speakers that produce surprisingly good sound. There are several different settings for audio, and there is the ability to change settings like bass and the built-in surround sound feature. I have not had any serious problems with this product, except what looks like a dead pixel. I have also had a problem with personal computer resolutions and refresh rates in gaming with HDMI on this set and displaying different color ranges on the graphics chipset that I use. Refresh rates are better run independently from this set if possible in v-sync gaming, or with v-sync off, because the display technology does not seem to work well with fast paced gaming over 30 fps in some graphically demanding games in v-sync. I think a possible fix to these issues could be to connect using a high quality 4K HDR HDMI cable for higher data transfer rates and latency so true 4K on pc with HDR can be displayed. To sum up this product in my review, I like it and would recommend it for anybody that is wanting a quality 4K set in the 40-50-inch size range that has HDR and is under $1000 dollars.

I was trying to decide on a 4K TV with HDR. It came down to Samsung, LG and Sony. All three were within $50 of each other with Sony being the most expensive and with the least bells and whistles. But Sony has always been a reliable brand for me, so I bought the Sony. Great picture, easy Scene selection for the right show or movie. Easy to use and excellent build quality.

this was a Black Friday special and we were a little hesitant because there were no reviews to read. we are very pleased with our purchase. Great picture, fairly easy to set up. The only issue we had was syncing the sound bar we bought at the same time. Never could get the audio and and picture timed right. Bought a different sound bar and no problems.

Recently purchased this tv to replace the 32 inch we have in our living room and I'm very happy with the purchase. The picture is great and watching movies in 4K is unreal. We were looking at a Samsung and Vizio that were about $70 cheaper, but decided to spend the money on this Sony and it was definitely money well spent.

Got this to replace an old 46” Sony Bravia - fantastic upgrade. Has all the apps built in too! Picture is excellent - bought the Sony UHD Blu-ray player and the combination is amazing! Watching Planet Earth in 4K is just jaw dropping. Hard to believe you can get this quality for under $500.

The Sony television was very easy to set-up. We expected a great picture, but the picture quality is better than we expected. It is an excellent TV. The remote is easy to use. It looks like it doesn't accept HBO Go, but you can get HBO Go if you have a Roku device or Google Chromecast.

The Sony X690E has an amazing picture for a great price. The speakers are better than the average LED TV. Attractive stand feels heavy and strong - nothing flimsy here. Thin bezel makes viewing almost seamless. Only caveat, while the streaming features are easy to use, the app choice is quite limited when compared to other options like Roku.

I was looking for a smooth 4K HDR Screen, like most people, I have other devices to run smart features. To Start was very happy with the setup super easy didn't even need the manual ;) plugged it in and bam it was awesome! My with and I just sat there and enjoyed an hour of 4K drone footage! It is still new, but so far it's far surpassed what I thought I could get in this price range! If you have the ability, I encourage you to get some calibration videos and try another tv's in this price range the Sony far outperform all the others that were on our radar and did not sound half bad.

This TV was on sale by BestBuy when I bought. Before this TV, I was using LG TV with same specifications but I was not satisfied with picture quality of the TV. One day I was in BestBuy to pick up my iPad and I found this TV on display. For the price its really worth to go with this TV. I checked with BestBuy associates and they also suggested me Sony for best picture quality. :)

This TV has a great picture, easy to grab handles and was a breeze to set up. However, if you purchased this b/c most other Sony TVs are Android based, you will be disappointed. The native Cast ability is limited to Youtube, most other cast apps such as HBO cannot find the TV. The menu is sparse and the built in app selection is very limited with no ability to add more. Overall it functions, it was good for my Dad who doesnt care about Android or anything else written above but I was very disappointed in the way it was advertised and then had so few features. Other brands do more for less. But the picture is excellent.
