Best value tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've have 2 Samsung and this is my first Sony. I've never been a Sony guy bc honestly I always thought their products were a bit over priced. When I bought this TV I was shocked at the low price I was able to buy it for. This has been hands down the best tv I have ever owned. The picture is great and all the smart features are easy to use. I would highly recommend this tv.

Not perfect, but worth the sale price!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 1/2 Stars. I purchased this product(s) in March of 2016. I'm pretty much a "Sony-phile", but have been open to the other TV brands. Overall, Sony can't be beat for picture clarity, sharpness, 4K crispness, the upscaling, ergonomics, and beauty. Sony sets the Standard. I read about the bleeding at the bottom edges of the screen, and did not initially notice it in the showroom. 1. Because the yellow energy usage sticker covered the right corner and 2. The demos running didn't have many black pictures. Mostly vivid colors and fast motion. After studying it more carefully, it's nearly imperceptible in the 55", but noticeable in the 65" if you are looking for it. I bought both the XBR-55X900C and the XBR-65X900C since both pictures and slim profile are beautiful and were on sale. Almost half off the original msrp. The 55" will be used in a bedroom and the 65" in the family room. They look wonderful hanging on the room's respective walls with Sony-supplied U-hoop brackets. The only problem I had and was quite surprised with Sony is that the supplied brackets were different for the 2 models which only difference was their size. And the bigger model had less hardware than the smaller model. I even called Sony 3 times and they had no idea why it would be different. Last time I spoke with them, the representative said he'd call me back which he never did. I ultimately just had to swap some pieces and screws between the 2 TV's, of course, using more screws to secure the bigger TV. The light bleeding has been pretty much remedied on the later batches--serial numbered TV', and the bleeding is not that noticeable unless you use this as the center of your home theatre system and watch a lot of movies and "dark-lit" movies. Then, the light bleeding might bother you in the 65". The 55", at least the one I have, is wonderful. I'd buy it again!

Great picture after software updates
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great picture once you have completed the most recent software updates. Factory installed Netflix is sometimes problematic (character dialog is sometimes octaves lower than normal) while watching content. Also, white light bleeds into the picture from the edges of the screen during some darker scenes.

Great TV but missing an audio codec
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Would have given it 5 stars but it has a problem directly connecting with an HDHomerun prime TV cable card tuner. There is no sound. I can access the HDHomerun TV tuner through a Sony DVD-BlueRay player but not directly on this TV. The required Audio Codec is missing or corrupt.

beautiful TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two Sony TVs, a 43" and a 55". The 43" could not be better for my bedroom. The 55" was too small for the wall I was mounting it on and I exchanged it for a 65" Sony, which has impressive features and color. It is heavy (almost 100 lbs) but makes a great impression.

SONY 4K ULTRA HD CLARITY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So after having the X850C for about a week now I have to say we are very pleased. Out of the box the Sharpness needed to be dialed down some. I ended up between 45-50. I use VIVID and tweaked some of the picture settings. There is also another key setting to keep a lookout for after you hit the HOME button. It's under Picture and Display after you tap Settings. Go to Dynamic Range. Pause your image and toggle between LIMITED and FULL. Depending on your source one will blow the other out of the water. Image looked a little cloudy but after changing it blacks looked great and the image was full of POP! Also for best results turn the Light a Sensor off. SETTINGS: PIC mode: VIVID Brightness 47 light Sensor OFF Color 60 Black level 47 Black adjust High adv Contrast Enhancer High Color Temp Neutral Color space Auto Live Color High Sharpness 45 to 50 Noise reductions LOW (Blu-Ray OFF) MOTIONFLOW CUSTOM - SMOOTHNESS 1 and CLEARNESS Min Obviously you can tweak yourself to your personal taste. We are exceptionally happy with the clarity and motion. DirecTV looks good on all HD channels. Sports look terrific. Hockey you can keep up with the puck easily. Basketball the ball is not as blurry in the air. Football should be terrific as well. Can't wait to see the grass this season! Blu-Ray movies are like looking through a window. As for 3D we didn't mind it. We did pick up our own TDG 400A glasses from eBay. Movies looked pretty good with minimum to none crosstalk. As for streaming it looked very good. I was impressed! Google works reasonably well but internet features will depend on your signal. My TV has firmware updated twice. First one took a hour. Second one 25 minutes. Oh another cool feature we like is the Daydream Mode. You can change your TV screen into a classy looking photographer's best work! Definitely a conversation starter during a party or with any company over at the time. The biggest gripe I have is there is not an easy quick SLEEP TIMER short cut. Though it does have many options once you get there. Leaving off on a positive note I love the PIC OFF button on the remote. If I am watching something questionable you can hide the image at the press of a button! Love it!!! As for sound it is not half bad for a "TV" but I suggest a good sound bar. I am using a Martin Logan so we get the best of both worlds with picture and sound! With a little bit of tweaking this midrange 4K Smart TV can look very close to a high end model. At the current sale price it is a steal!!!
