Out of the Box the TV is amazing however less than a year later the TV has developed what is a grid pattern that is very visible while playing video games, not noticeable as much during movies. however 99% of the time I'm using this TV for gaming. The worst part is i purchased a 2 year protection plan *Buyer Beware* They use the manufacturer warranty for the first year of that plan regardless so its really a 1 year plan - Sony says these white lines are within operating spec so i have to wait for my manufacturer warranty to expire to use the actual protection plan

Screen is mostly great. There is one dead pixel near the bottom right corner but not really noticeable. The Sony home screen has half the screen filled with annoying advertisements for other streaming services. Customizable feeds on the home screen get littered with streaming sevices Sony wants to push on you. Odd a $1900 TV has advertising you would associate with free phone apps. There are constant notifications for this deal or that free offer. You cannot turn it off. All of my Sony TVs have this annoying adware interface now. Be warned, Sony sold us out!

Screen Burn in after 3 weeks of use - DO NOT BUY

SCREEN BURN IN AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF LIGHT VIEWING MOVIES. Used the TV very lightly and noticed when the tennis or soccer (large area of green) was on that there were darker spots on the TV. Called SONY who asked me to raise an online support ticket detailing the issue. It took them 3 weeks to reply back to me and tell me that there is screen burn in and that its not covered by warranty. I tried escalating and was told by one of their customer service agents who told me that I can't as I burn in is not covered. I asked how could this be possible after 3 weeks of use. They told me to contact Best Buy, who told me that I'm outside of the 30 day return window and that its SONY's issue to resolve ;-( If SONY were more efficient I would have had a chance to return the TV ;-( I can't believe I have an expensive TV with burn in after a few weeks of use. Its impossible to get burn in after a few weeks of use, and with NO support from either SONY OR BESTBUY I'm stuck with a broken TV. I've purchased a lot of items from BestBuy who are usually awesome, unfortunately not this time. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A SONY PRODUCT AGAIN FROM THIS EXPERIENCE. THIER SUPPORT IS DISAPPOINTING. I would give this TV 0 stars if I could. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.

Was a great TV until the screen developed a vertical line after having the set for 14.5 months. That's 2.5 months out of warranty! TV repair shop said it was the screen and Sony no longer sells the screen as a replacement part. List price of the screen was over $1100 when it was available. Very disappointed!

This Sony oled is incredible. It uses the new 2020 oled panel from lg, with 120hz black frame insertion (to mimic plasma and crt fade to black motion) which you can enable under the clearness setting under motion. This is a first for oled, and it makes motion look incredibly smooth. In addition the new panel allows for better near black handling and uniformity. The input lag is as low as on any Sony to date, as low as the 950g, so its fantastic for gaming, esp. with black frame insertion on. The colors are highly accurate with any content as well. Upscaling and motion processing are best in class. The only con is that brightness can’t quite hit the levels of the best lcds, but in every other way the A8h floors the competition. Burn in is extremely unlikely in 2020 when watching varied content. If you’ve been on the fence with oled, now is the best possible time to jump in.

I had been waiting for this TV to be on sale for a while. I am retired and am a big NCAA basketball fan. I decided last year I would study all summer and wait for the best new TV for the best price I could find. I consulted a bunch of review sites online. I made a list of the 4 best new TVs and then actually went to the store and looked at them. I reduced my choice to 3 models. I waited for a really good sale for any of the 3 & ended up with this Sony Bravia A8h Series OLED. The setup was easy, just choose what you want and what you are subscribed to, like Netflix. You are now watching the best TV you have seen in your own living room. Don't choose this one if you want to use it as a gaming screen, but if you want the best streaming device around, get it. It looks just as good as it did in the showroom. Any adjustments you want to make are easy. The screen is easily viewed from the side, (which was an issue with my last TV). I am sensitive to sound quality, premium audio in the car, premium earbuds, etc. I find watching movies without good sound to be irritating! I had a very good quality sound bar that I have now moved to the TV in the basement because this TV is the first TV I have owned in 20 years that has sound quality that can stand by itself without needing to be helped in some way. You might still like enhancement for movies or music playback, but it is not required like it is with so many other TVs. So you can save money by not needing a sound bar, if you deon't have one

Been a fan of Sony electronics for quite some time and decided to go back to them for a TV instead of Samsung - mostly because Sony TVs were what my family always had. Minimum size of 55in was much bigger than what I originally intended to look for in a TV, but honestly, I am glad that ultimately I took the advise of a friend and bit the bullet on size. First OLED TV too. First concern was about burn in happening with static imaging; so far, no news logos have stuck - and from my understanding, unless I am running this thing like a madman on the brightest settings and never turning it off, burn in isn’t even a worry. Second concern was wondering if the picture quality was worth the price. $1900 is EXPENSIVE for a television, but honestly, the quality from build to picture is just stunning - I can say better than the Samsungs I have had in the past (but the past is the past and technology is constantly improving!). The TV feels solid - not plasticy, and honestly much heavier than expected. 4K content is also gorgeous from movies, streaming content, to video games. I am also extremely happy to say that for an Android TV, it has Apple AirPlay ability! So if you wish to use this TV to be a display or quick monitor for Mac, iPad, or iPhone, it will be supported! Also nice to be able to turn it on and off via the home app if you are looking to be in tune with the idea of a smart home. So, if you are willing to drop a pretty penny on a television, I would highly recommend this Sony. It’s going to last for quite some time since I don’t believe 8K content is going to be big anytime soon and it’s a extremely solid television that does the job extremely well.

Amazing picture quality, vibrant colors! What they say about the black is true, really makes for great picture depth. Love that I can view picture from any angle - even at angled distance from dining table. Easy to cast from iPhone. Switching from TV speakers to my sound bar can't be simpler.

Buy,Buy,Buy ,only if you care about Quality . This model meets this in so many way,a true to life picture,on.the mark color, surprising sound matching movements on the Screen, please read the specs, features, learn by looking at models of sony features from led to oled low end prices too the high end, you will understand what your getting for your money. " Most Importantly " Go in person look at different models as well as other manufacturers Sure spend less on the same size screen or a bigger screen at the same price, but what are You getting how long will it last , remember something,or if you don,t know this Sony has Been the pioneer in color TVs starting with a Trinitron a whole different technology they have kept technology their sale point, they lost sales to others when others Mass produce cheaper TV,s . The 1st television I purchased at 20yrs old was a 20"SonyTrinitron push button Television, That slipped out of my hands and rolled down 30 steps It came to a stop after hitting a wall , that TV Not only worked, but after 11 years I only gave it up to upgrade. I am 63 now . Owned many different Televisions other than sony . Look at this TV , it,s Built solid with state-of-the-art 4K technology and materials .It,s a heavy set and very thin with a clean look . It was simple to set up . The screen has thick glass , that will reflect bright light off the screen, you will need To Consider this in it,s placement as well . In my sunny room it has a clear bright picture so Don,t worry, the blacks are black the contrast is stunning next to the perfect colors such a sharp clarity. You have complete control to adjust to your performances in picture and sound with presets as well for easy of use , in controlling this set . The remote is long and the buttons are not backlit . I purchased a rubber case for the remote that protects it in Falls and from liquids falling getting into the remote itself . Can use a smartphone or talk to your other smart devices Tell it what to watch ,or use the TV,s remote to Operate your other smart devices . This sony Sync perfectly with most devices and displays on the screen it's functions and connectedness. Make sure to read about all it,s ports it,s missing One high end sound port . Important if you want the newest tech in sound , and if you do , buy The Sony model above this , you'll have that . If you most have the best picture available buy Sony 8K in my opinion ,the only problem being there's very little content available at this time it will take a few years for that to change unless you purchase a camera capable of filming 8K and then you'll have your own content . I am not a Sony nut , I don,t buy based on Brand name . This television set is not cheap by any means but considering , that with this quality you can see the world a lot better . I feel very happy to have this window to Experience a new world, but please it,s still just media . Get outside into the real world . Enjoy !

I first want to thank the management and B Buy staff in N Fayette/Robinson.........easiest purchase of my life!!!!! If you are looking at an OLED tv you are serious about your video viewing. I know people battle on if you should buy an LG or a Sony. I happen to own both the LG "C" series and now the Sony A8. They are both 55 inch. I will tell say you cannot go wrong with either. I do think the black levels on the LG are outstanding but with a little crush. I now use the Sony as my main tv. There are a number of reasons. * way better calibration settings *really cool sound from a tv *I actually do like the android interface *EYE POPPING COLOR *I think once calibrated better for sports I know that LG makes the panels....Sony perfected OLED!!! As usual with any type of electronics it is the processors or as I call it "the secret sauce" that make the equipment and Sony has done it again. The leaders in television for a long time!

Absolutely incredible picture! My mind is totally blown. I thought 4K was great before on my LED but now I’ll never go back to non-OLED… the ability to produce absolute black and bright color on a pixel by pixel basis creates a picture you cannot believe. It’s also very easy to set up and interfaces easily with other connected devices. The sounds of the TV itself is good, but I use it with a Sony sound bar and it’s perfect. It’s a model year old, sure, but if you aren’t looking to game in 4K or a few other special features, it’s a great way to save some bills over the equivalent newer model and get a premium set without the premium price.

I have been on the fence about purchasing this television for a very long time. So glad I finally decided to take a leap and make the investment. The picture quality is SUPERB! Even when watching movies and television shows that are low to little light. To examine low light and dark levels, I re-watched GOT, season 8, episode 3 (The Long Night). A huge difference from when I originally watched this episode. This television is very east to set up and integrates very well with cable box and Apple TV. If I had one gripe, it would be the remote control, which is kind of flimsy and not back lit.

Hi sppope, We are glad that you like the picture quality of your new Sony Bravia OLED TV. The A8H features the X1 Ultimate picture processor, the same processor we use in our flagship 8K HDR TVs, giving the TV an impressive boost to sharpness, contrast, and color enhancement. We also hope you will notice the upgraded responsiveness of the smart Android TV platform that allows apps to open up to 3x faster. Thank you for choosing Sony! Vincent Sony_US
