What a horrible experience. I've been quarantined and was glad to hear that I could get delivery to my doorstep. After a few hours of use, the TV showed its true broken colors by blessing me with horizontal black lines all over it. Don't waste your money.

This TV is Amazing! It’s an experience. The 4K and blacks are incomparable. The Bravia software settings are integrated into the Google tv. It makes audio pairing via ARC and using peripherals super easy. The back plastic panels hide all the wires. It is thin, amazingly thin and it feels and looks like well made art. I know it uses an LG screen, but the Sony processor and polish puts it above the LGs to me. I have always bought the high end Samsungs. I always though OLED was a gimmick and that Sony was overpriced. Listen, I’m never going to non-OLED again. The picture blows my top end Samsung out of the water. Now I know what they meant when they talked about contrast and true darks. The newer version of this TV has slightly higher ratings, but I’ve seen them both in person. The new one is not made and nice as this one. The frame and body seems cheap. If you can find a deal on this one, get it!

I bought this as an upgrade for an older model Sony HD tv I got several years ago. I wasn't sure how much difference I'd see in the picture but this TV did not disappoint! The colors are so much more vivid and a broader range! There is more detail in the dark scenes as well as bright ones. The picture just blows me away! Set up was easy and straight forward. I have always preferred Sony's and this TV continues that tradition. Not to sure about how I feel about the stand for it. It does make the tv sit very close to whatever you have it sitting on. Other then that this TV has an amazing picture with outstanding clarity and color range.

The Sony 55A9G OLED is one of the finest televisions on the market today. Although not brilliant, the colors are true and clear. The blacks are what they should be - black. Due to the technology, fine points can be affected; such as, a black suit with fine white stripes. On this A9G, the stripes will be overwhelmed by the black (i.e., the OLEDs turn off so the dim white stripes cannot shine through). I suggest a Settings adjustment to to the highest contrast level. The TV is viewed best in a room not more than moderately lighted. Still, very impressive. Audio is good.

I actually bought the LG C9 before i upgraded to the AG9, and the C9 is a great TV as well. Unfortunately, my last TV was a Sony 900e, and i was spoiled by Sony’s HD to 4K upscaling and that signature Sony motion. And let’s face it; most content is still in standard HD SDR, not 4K HDR and motion on an OLED is completely different (blur free) than it is on a LED display. Well, this TV is a beast at upscaling HD to 4K, is actually makes your HD source look like a 4K source. (Not cable TV of course, but Blu Rays and streaming do the trick). Motion still takes a little getting used to, the lack of blur vs an LED looks a little strange at first, but Sony’s motionflow software does help with that; once you find the right setting you’re golden. Display brightness was my other concern when going with an OLED, and it’s true, this is NOT a TV for a bright room. Having said that, i often leave a 60w lamp (or two) on when watching, and this TV has no problem outshining my ambient lighting. Of course, when the lights go out this TV feels like a literal portal to another world. LED TV’s can give you a little more “pop” with HDR highlights, but it’s at the expense of a more dynamic picture, as you lose that perfect contrast that an OLED gives you. And when it comes to picture quality, contrast is king. The Sony A9G makes you feel as though you’re seeing what the filmmakers were seeing.

Upgraded from an earlier Sony 4K (900E). This A9G model completely eliminates that annoying fade in the viewing angle. The contrast is incredible. The best thing I liked with this model is nothing needed to be adjusted with the picture or sound. It was ready to go. The only down side, but not with this TV, is that it shows how we're getting ripped off by our cable companies with the downgraded compressed garbage they're delivering in their channel feeds. Dancing blocks and pixels will show with cable channels because of the compression. But streaming services like Netflix, Vudu, and Amazon Prime look great.

I replaced a 12-year old Sony TV with this top of the line Sony OLED A9G Smart 4K UHD TV. Was originally looking at the Sony 900/950 series but once I saw the clarity of the picture and sound from this Sony OLED TV, no other TV came come to this TV's picture and sound quality. A few early observations after using this great TV for the past few days: there are many settings that you can use to customize the picture to fit your viewing preferences and room lighting. The same applies for the sound, which by the way, is one of the best I've heard! I have a sound bar but will probably won't need it much since the speakers are front firing (built into the screen) and very strong. At first I was leery to make a lot of adjustments but appreciate the reset option. And, after just a few days, I now have the settings set exactly where I want them for great viewing. As for the remote, the new remote design is one of the best Sony has made. Navigating between my Dish Hopper, Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime is a breeze with this remote. Making a big purchase like this was not a quick decision. There is where I must thank Ray, the Sony Expert from the York, PA Best Buy store for his help and wealth of knowledge on Sony TVs. I must have visited the store at least 4 times with questions. Each time he answered all of my questions, including my questions about TV wall mounts, HDMI cables and Geek Squad Installation. Speaking of which, Mike from the Geek Squad accommodated my busy schedule and did a great job on the install. Overall, Ray and Mike made my purchase experience a pleasant one! Thanks guys! If you're considering treating yourself to an OLED TV, don't hesitate and get this Sony A9G. It's worth it!

The picture's brightness and colors are excellent. The audio seems to be very good although we sometimes mis-hear dialog and are thinking of putting our old sound bar back in place. Because of the unit's breadth of pickup capabilities, dealing with its software system does take some learning. Sony has a plethora of on-line user information, almost too much. So be prepared for some search and study to get streaming services connected. In time I was able to get my Sling, Siriusxm, Amazon Video, and Apple TV services connected and easy to access and use. I've had to reboot my new TV a couple of times because Sling's audio was absent the morning after we had watched it all evening. My over-the-air reception using a non-powered indoor antenna is solid on all the channels we typically watch as well as the more than 50 other channels it picks up. I wish the rather thin user manual had been more clear that the when you turn the TV off its really put in a standby mode. It stays somewhat awake so it can download software updates overnight and hear you say "Turn TV On" in the morning. As far as obeying verbal commands, I'm not sure who (i.e., me or it) is going have to learn more to get the TV to do what I want. Its assumptions aren't always the same as mine. All in all, I'm looking forward to a good ten years of service from my new Sony just as what I got from my old Sony which still works well but is now in the cold and dreary basement to make my exercise routine more tolerable.

Easy to unpack, install and to set up. Owned a Sony plasma previously... OLED rocks. Great color and superb black. Streaming, disc or digital cable... superb picture. Sound is excellent. Music, dialog and effects are clear and spatial separation is excellent. Pricey compared to lesser brands and models but well worth the investment. On line ordering and curbside pickup with Best Buy was a breeze.

one of my favorite TV's I have ever owned...Excellent features, remote, menus, and picture quality is top notch...Master Series come calibrated out of the factory, so that is important to remember when evaluating the price differences over the LG oleds...The Sound too is awesome on this unit,.I really think you dont need a soundbar for TV watching...and maybe just flip on your big theatre system, for movie nights...the dialog, clear voice is excellent, and the directional sound is a really neat feature on these sets...i was watching Tennis on it, and you could hear the guy serving on one end of the court and the ball either being hit ny the player below on opposite end of the court and bottom of the tv screen...and then on an ACE, the ball would hit the back wall, and it sounded like it was coming from BELOW the tv...amazing experience, the first time you try it...i would imagine that the separation and directional sound feature would be even greater as you go up in size sets...Excellent product...Love Sony Oleds..Just wish they had internet browser onboard like the Lg's...for that reason i need to ride with both units.

This is my 2nd TV in a month. I originally purchased the LG C9 to upgrade from older plasma. The C9 was great, but I has some issues with sports movement. I stream sports and no matter how I messed with settings the feed juddered every few seconds. I returned it and got the A9G. Despite the C9 and A9G having similar motion and clarity options, I found, with relative ease, a setting with the A9G that eliminated juddering. For me it was worth the price increase. The processor on the A9G is a step above the C9. If you want the best overall picture quality, more natural color and a good sounding TV without a soundbar, splurge a bit more and go with the A9G.

This thing is all but perfect. So many options that make this the best option (the MASTER Series). The menu options and configuration options are very good, though some are a little hard to find. The integrated wifi is giving us some grief but we believe that is due to external wifi troubles first. If there is a change in this my review will be updated. Picture quality is off the charts! The color definition is perfect and the TV Auto adjusts brightness to the room. Plenty of manual picture and mode options too. The integration with game consoles is phenomenal too. The regular tv remote can control the consoles with the right options setup making movie viewing a breeze. Same with mobile casting. The Android TV system is so welcoming to set up: I used my mobile device to load settings instead of manually doing it all on the tv! And the audio integration with the Sony soundbar we got is divine. HDMI ARC linked puts all the audio controls through the tv, including on and off, so except for a few small functions on the sound bar we don't need to use that remote either. Simply, the features and ease of use make this tv worth the hefty price tag.

The color is sharp and the sound STUPENDOUS!!! We had Geek Squad hook it up along with our sound bar and to program it so we could use our cable remote control. We weren't happy with the sound bar sound and disconnected it. The sound from the television is so clear. The background sound doesn't overtake the voice sound. But we may need to get Geek Squad back out to reprogram our remotes. We now want to use the T.V. remote. Most remotes are too complicated but this one is pretty basic and it has voice control and Google. I gave a 4 on ease of use because we had trouble switching the audio from the sound bar to the television. It kept reverting back to the sound bar until we just unplugged it from the T.V.

For many folks, spending $500-$1,000 for a 55”-65” television is within their smart budget. Frankly, I’m one of those. So imagine my pleasant surprise to get this 55” OLED on open box for $999 (they had it marked as the w try level Sony OLED). I still can’t believe it. Every time I look at the deep blacks and vivid colors, I understand why so many rave about this television. I gave up a 65” 900 series and went smaller, just to have this 55” model. I don’t regret it for one moment. That being said. My wife would NEVER let me spend the $2,499 on it, and I don’t know if I could justify it either with our budget. However, if you have the budget, this is a smart choice. It’s beautiful, easy to operate, and makes everything we watch look better, including HD programming. The only thing that would give me pause is to consider the new LG OLED SERIES, which when mounted on the wall is less than 3/4” thick. For a couple hundred more you’d get a 65” too.

Awesome picture! I’m a Jack of all trades: Movies, Regular Programming, Sports and Gaming and the tv performs fantastically! There is a little lag in gaming performance but a PS5 still looks fantastic! With that being said the only game that I’ve noticed that lag is with Watch Dogs Legions, could possibly just be with certain games?!. The blacks and whites are awesome on this television, and the colors most definitely “pop” and it has a lot of options to personalize your own watching experience! I have my A9G connected to my Sony STR-1080 receive, which was a breeze to hook up, and they instantly/easily connected with one another. All in all I’m most pleased with my Sony. The biggest thing I would suggest is personally going to the store and seeing for yourself!! But would absolutely recommend this TV to others!

I have the previous 65" A1E Sony OLED in our basement theater room, which has been a joy to watch. I replaced a smaller plasma with this and eventually will replace my Pioneer Elite Plasma with a Sony OLED. The picture is out of this world. The sound on this unit is very nice. I initially paired it with a high end soundbar, but the television on its own sounds very nice--although not as much bass. I got rid of the soundbar as I much prefer the very clean lines of this television sitting on a dresser. My wife initially wanted it on the wall but it is so thin and clean without cords showing that she is fine with it on the dresser. There is a very nice wall mount for this which pulls it right flush against the wall and I may eventually get that, that would be very clean also--for now I just sit and watch this beautiful television.

I set it on Cinema, turned off motion, etc..Colors are true and the black is BLACK! Atmos for sound and vision is a nice addition. I definitely will keep this Sony A9G.

Awesome picture. Watch a lot of sports the clarity is fantastic. I was told that i might not need a sound bar with this TV so i thought I'd give it a try. (The speakers are in the screen) granted it doesn't have all tbe depth but right now I'm liking it. All the extras are also great, ask Google, many apps and the ability to add as many as I want. I was concerned about burn in so i left it on pause for awhile, eventually it turned on an on board screen saver. Pretty cool pictures. Only issues so far are getting apple to sync and i did have to reboot the TV once when trying to listen to pandora. (Went on U-Tube and fixed it) Was more experience than LG but i thought it was worth it.

I love the TV, but the operating system has all of the warts you'd expect with android. For example, the TV occasionally loses sound; the fix is to unplug the TV for a moment. In at least one case, there are odd problems pushing remote content when you have the application of the content provider installed. We appear to get an update every month or two, but they tend to be a mixed bag of new features and breaks to old ones. Turning off all of google's snooping features is challenging and limits the ease of use. Overall, I'd prefer not to be google's guinea pig. If Sony made their own operating system (or modified an open source operating system), this would probably be a five star review. As others have mentioned, a sound bar is not necessary for small rooms, unless you want to feel like you're in a theater.

This is a close to perfect as you can get I think. First, the picture settings out of the box are near perfect. Most people will probably not have to touch them. The acoustic sound is awesome if using in bedroom or smaller room. Lost of low end, and rich sound. Super thin. The new Google 8.0 OS is super fast. Updated remote. eARC port. USB 2.0 and High speed 3.1 ports. The picture blows me away even on SD content. Processer is so good. The price cam down 700.00 over previous gen model too. Expensive but the best picture you can get I think. LG's new TV are great but Sony's Master series are still king.
