    Best TV ever

The Sony Bravia X800 55" was the best TV I ever owned. I bought it the fall of 2018. The bang for the buck was great! The picture quality was super, the quality of materials superb, and the cool thing was I could turn on my playstation consoles and the TV would detect it and turn on itself and I could use the remote to control the game system menus. This TV lasted through at least 10 moves with the factory box used each time. It bit the dust after a hard fall that took out the screen. I can't wait to purchase another Sony TV, definitely get a great product for the price.

TV was great except sound would sometimes not sync to picture, and this got worse as the days went on. Would have to flip around the channels before sound and picture would match. Disappointed and returned.

I purchased xbr55x900e 11/25/17. I purchased xbr65x900c Sept 2015 and before this xbr49. There are many positives to this brand despite my long negative below and that's why 3 stars. These TV's have GREAT pic quality, easy of use smart apps and are very easy to set up. The extra expense is worth the pic quality. Unfortunately the WiFi connection is very poor. Over the last two years constant problems with periodic/random loss of smart TV's WiFi connection to router/internet. When downloading movies (VUDU and Netflix) periodic/random interruptions/buffering (66Mbps speed on my system). I have spoken with "Sony tech help" and it has not been helpful (reset router, reset TV, updated/current sony TV software for TV system, power on/off both router/TV, gone to manual WiFi settings, changed DNS, etc...only transient success... Yes, I have read and re-read the SONY tech "guideline link" for when you have this problem [3 times it is very very long] and it has not corrected problem!!!!) ...I have done it ALL. In last 6 mos I have EERO system which has confirmed my suspicion. EERO system has allowed me to prove that it is not me, my house, my WiFi range, etc .... but rather the SONY TV's. I can now monitor my network real time. Where as my DirecTV set top box, Wii, Playstation, Samsung TV, 2 iPhones, and 3 iPads have a constant 5 bar signal with constant 66 Mbps speed checks; you can watch the xbr55 and xbr65 randomly drop signal strength. During these periods you can ChromeCast from my iPhone to the "buffering" TV from the DirecTV/ESPN/Netflix app on iPhone. When you go to the SONY website and enter "WiFi connection problem" or "connection problem with sony bravia tv" there is a string of this complaint going back to 2014. Let me reemphasize that the link guide provided by SONY doesn't solve problem, neither are the sony tech able to help. At the end of the problem you can try to get new TV or hardwire TV to router (obviously far suboptimal solutions). I write this detailed complaint here because I have received no satisfactory solution from SONY with multiple attempts; but I did notice that SONY appears to monitor this space and respond. I assume the wider audience here might cause them to re-think the standard response of.... "Thank you for your comment. We value your business, and want all our customers to be happy. We hope the following "link" will help you with your problem. If not please re-contact at blah blah blah blah". Maybe SONY might acknowledge the problem that is well represented on their own bulletin board and admit the problem is with "their WiFi connection" equipment in the TV. Did I mention the Samsung TV and other devices have not had one single problem over this same 2-3 year period while the 3 SONY products have.

The setup on this TV isn't user friendly at all. I spend way too much time trying to find what I'm looking for and there aren't any options to customize. Why buy a more expensive "smart" TV when you can plug in the much easier to navigate Roku. Device also isn't supported on multiple platforms including my Google Home and HBO Go. Simply put... buy a cheaper TV and plug in a Roku.

My first television I had ever purchased. It ended up breaking down a little over a year into owning it!! It was a complete waste of money. One day my kids and I were watching it and all of a sudden the screen just cracked and went pitch black. I don't recommend this television what so ever.

Does not work well with gaming devices. PS4 Pro audio cuts out frequently after waking up from Standby, the "fix" is to reboot the TV, which should not have to happen for a $1000 TV, especially one from the same maker as the console, did they test the TVs? Xbox One X gets "No signal" with 4K output. I recommend looking elsewhere.

Very limited streaming capability with major stuttering, no 5.1 sound capability on the optical output, for full features you need a special cord to plug in that is not available at the store or anywhere else (I happen to have one on an old camcorder). This TV was not user friendly, it was a nightmare, I returned it.

Just breaking myself into 4K/smart/UHD with HDR tv’s so I haven’t explored all the functions/capabilities but I’m blown away with everything so far. Pic, incredible. Price, affordable. Setup, can be tricky for us IOS/Apple users and that leads me to my one complaint. Google hates The Apple company and its products and almost had me looking into other brands. Why is it one or the other instead of living together in harmony? Had to set up google account, have to dowmload apps on my phone to have half the control that non-Apple users enjoy carefree. Still haven’t be able to mirror my IPhone to it, spending less than an hr attempting it. The placement of the speakers aremt ear friendly but they want you to buy (a Sony) soundbar Read that the Bluetooth doesn’t work even with other Sony products, haven’t attempted Bluetooth in 2 weeks I’ve owned it. Lag time with remote, notthing that I’ve experienced. Popping sound when FF or RW with remote, can’t say I’ve heard it. This set is my 3rd Sony replacement tv and it’s due technology exceeding my capabilities. But given away perfectly good working sets as try and keep up with ever changing technology. In short, if they would stop being one sided and embrace both operating software/Apple & Google, it’d be darn near perfect.

The Bravia and the work done by Sony are sub par. Poor picture, abysmal interface, and the sound quality is even marginal. Buy an LG or a Samsung instead. I turned mine back in after 14 days of horrible viewing.

This TV appears to be incompatible with both AppleTV and with Comcast cable boxes. It appears to be sending signals to both that set up failure of communication. Best Buy has been very cagey about replacing this TV with something that actually works.
