Sony TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very happy with the size of the tv for our home. The color and clarity are fantastic. The only thing I notice is that the picture is temporarily blurred when connecting to Netflix. I called the Geek Squad and got an explanation for this problem.

Will not disappoint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first television purchase in a couple of years. It is a phenomenal product. As usual, Sony does not disappoint. The product is very high quality and beautiful streamlined. My only words of caution are this: If you are replacing an older television of the same size with this one, because it is so streamlined and lacks a large border, it may appear smaller than the set you are replacing. My previous television had a significant border around the screen, which made it appear larger in our room than this one.

Great Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did a lot of research before purchasing this tv. I am very happy that I went with the Sony instead of a Vizio or TCL, the picture is amazing. Sound quality is just ok, and the remote/menu operation is kind of clunky, but for the most part it’s fine.

Excellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has to have the very best picture I've seen in an LED 4K set. I researched TV's for nearly 4 months and decided to purchase this TV. The only things the reviews said that were negative about this TV were the blacks not being as dark as they should be, and the sound. First, you'll never notice the blacks being faded. Second, most TV reviewers test the TV's sitting on a table or cabinet, NO TV sounds good that way. My TV is mounted on a wall and the sound is very good. I have no bad words to say about this set.

Excellent Picture for Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is about as good a 4K TV that I've seen outside of the OLED screens. It's a gorgeous standard LED with tremendous black levels and contrast. The HDR really pops here and the Android Smart TV features all work as Advertised. You really aren't going to find too many sets nicer than this one unless you look into upgrading to an OLED.

Great smart TV features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great Smart TV with crisp 4K HDR and a very smooth motion rate. Based on this TV’s smart features, I would recommend this to anyone who streams on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon which are all built-in Apps on this TV. I have yet to have any of theses built-in apps have to refresh or stop in the middle of programming which is common in my Apple TV, BluRay streaming, and Amazon FireStick. A very good buy.

This is an amazing TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out which 4k TV I wanted to get. I am very glad I ended up with this one. I bought it last year for $1,000 while it was on sale, which was pretty fair to me for a great 55 inch 4k smart TV. The picture quality is great (anything animated look absolutely amazing. This TV really makes colors, especially reds and blues, pop), native refresh rate of 120hz is great (PCMR), 4 HDMI ports is great (I don't have cable anymore and I usually just cast my phone to my TV, so the rear io goes a bit unused), and the smart menu is one of the best that I have used. I do have two complaints for this TV. First, it seems that this tv, or Sony in general, uses a different thread size than most other TV manufacturers do for the wall monut screw holes. I bought a wall mount kit for it that came with a bunch of different screws to accommodate a bunch of different TVs, and none of them where the right thread and length. Luckily, all I had to do was go down to my local screw store and get ones that fit. An inconvenience, but not really a big problem. Second, the wifi connectivity of this TV is a bit funky. Even though my modem and router are within 12 feet of the TV, it sometimes doesn't connect to the internet even when my phone and PC do. I did some digging and found that this tv will automatically connect to (I think, if I remember correctly) the 5ghz network, but you need to manually connect it to the 2.4ghz network. I don't know why, but the wifi wouldn't connect the tv to the internet if it was on (again, I think. I might be getting them mixed up) the 5ghz network. I would definitely recommend using a cable connection if you have a wall port or your moden and router near the tv. Other than those two things, this TV has been amazing. I use the voice control on the remote way more than I thought I would. The dedicated Netflix button on the remote is nice, but I wish I could change it to YouTube. Overall, I would recommend this TV to anyone that is in the market for an amazing lcd 4k smart TV. I still don't think oled is worth it yet, so lcd is a better choice in my opinion. I give this TV 4 stars. If not for the weird wifi problem, I would gladly give it 5 stars.

Exceptional Mid-level 4K Set
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rich picture that’s bright without looking like it’s in “display mode” in the store. Warm colors without all the fakery and excessive greens of other brands. Sleek form factor. The androidtv is almost as good as roku interface, but works perfectly fine and was easy to use. There really nothing to watch in 4K via cable yet but everything comes in 1080p from our box and is upscale, looks fine. We did splurge on a few 4K rentals and tried HD Netflix and we’re really impressed. We love it, and it was a steal when it was on sale. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this set - 120hz motionflow panel, HDR with FULL ARRAY Local dimming - that ones important and makes those deep, dark blacks possible. Plus Other Sony picture technologies that likely optimize display of productions shot with Sony equip. I will probably buy a 65” model as well for the man cave, unless that A1 comes down further in price.

This is a great TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had originally purchased an xbr49x800 TV several months back that got damaged, so to get any insurance coverage at all on it we had to show we replaced with another TV. After much research we decided to go up one model and size, so picked up the xbr55x900e on a good sale at Best Buy. Although overall the color and sharpness of the picture is not that much better than the x800 in general content, it excels in the deep blacks it reproduces because of local dimming. We started out using the Vivid preset with some minor tweaks but it was almost too much of a pop with colors (especially skin tones) not as natural as could be. After more research on recommended settings we've settled on using Standard with a few tweaks for general TV watching (cable box) and Cinema Home for everything else. Definitely use the 4K mastering option if you have a 1080p bluray player as it upscales to nearly 4K resolution, the difference in changing this one setting was amazing when watching a mainstream movie like Jurrasic World, Jumanji, etc. Also it seems that reviews on the new x900F TVs are not as good so you may want to get an x900e while they're on clearance.

Excellent 55" TV for Viewing in Room With Windows
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Sony 55" TV after reading several online reviews and not just those at Best Buy, and after also reading independent testing organizations reports and specifications far more detailed than provided by Best Buy. And I and my family are very pleased with this TV. The display is very bright and sharp whether viewing in night time or when it is sunny outside. The north wall of the room this TV is almost entirely glass windows without any drapes or shades; this TV handles that situation very easily with its automatically adjustable brightness. This TV was also very easy to connect to the internet and other electronic devices, e.g. to display on TV what is playing on a PC. It does, however, take some time digging through its many commands screens to discover and set to the user's preferences all of its many features, e.g. to have both the internal speakers and the headphone out signal on at the same time... which I am using to feed an analogue sound signal to an older generation Bose audio system. I have not been able to evaluate the 4K video capability because none of my auxiliary devices nor my cable company are providing any 4k video content.

Amazing, beautiful, powerful television.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been ogling this TV for months. It has everything I have ever wanted in a tv: full 4K resolution, beautiful HDR, stunning contrast, native 120Hz. My PS4Pro looks incredible on it-EVERYTHING looks better on it (especially with the upscaling). Great investment in my wife, daughter, and I’s entertainment quality at home.

Yes!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The most solid tv for the price! The 900E is a no-brainer when it comes to processor, HDR picture, lighting (full array), and size! I knew exactly what TV I was going to get and this one takes the cake! I love it! And the native 120hz refresh rate changes every show and sports game I watch! Perfect and i completely recommend it!

fantastic picture on a budget
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a replacement for a 5 year old bedroom set. I bought a Sony XBR75X940E the previous day (fantastic picture on that as well), and for the price you cannot beat THIS set in a 55" profile. RVU with DirecTV works (albeit DirecTV has issues with 4k on anyone's RVU setup at the moment). THe contrast is fantastic, the blacks are BLACK. Overall a fantastic value, and compares very favorable to a much higher end set. In MY opinion, as close to OLED as your going to get without spending a fortune!

Overall, best set for the $ unless you want Oled
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have a 55 I like so much I'm going back for the 65. The price of OLEDs keep me from wanting to spend $3,000 on a television set. At $1,800 it still does more than current programming allows. In two years this TV will really be impressive
