I originally bought a 55” Samsung 8000 series and quickly returned it based on the poor contrast and lack of brightness. I bought the Sony 900 e and couldn’t be happier. The 4K is amazing and trillium color system can’t be beat

Full-array local dimming makes all the difference in the world. I was debating between the XBR55X900E and other less expensive edge-lit 4K tv's, and when compared side to side, well, there really isn't any comparison. The full array is a much crisper and cleaner picture. For example, I'm a hockey fan and watch it almost every night when in season, and I've never seen a better picture. I only have two slight issues with this tv. First, occasionally when switching to Netflix the sound is muted within that application, forcing you to exit all the way out of Netflix and restarting it. It doesn't happen with any regularity, but it can be a bit annoying. Second, only two out of the four hdmi inputs are 4K receptive. It sort of forces you to purchase a separate 4K hdmi splitter if you want to connect more than two 4K devices directly to the tv. Overall, the tv is absolutely stunning and I highly recommend it.

I love this TV. The picture is crispy clear you can even see a pin head and the colors are so vibrant. What I also love is that the TV stand is in the middle and still fist my TV table, I didn't have to use the wall mount.

Not what it's cracked up to be.

I originally purchased the 2017 Vizio P series tv from Costco. After about a month, the software was causing the TV to freeze up unexpectedly. This got irritating so I decided to return it and look for another tv. After some research, I decided to pull the trigger on this one. It works with my Amazon echo, and has recieved plenty of good reviews. I had a ton of gift cards for best buy so I figured I'd use them to buy it. After taking it home and getting it set up, the first thing I noticed was that it leans backwards. Design flaw, or defective unit. Either way, it looks tacky. I decided to look past it and go about using the tv. At first the image quality looked decent. Its Bright and vivid enough. But then I noticed when you have any small white object with a black background, there is a white cloud looming in the middle of the display. This is (from what I could tell) their "local dimming" being poorly designed. I went about changing up the image settings but there isn't any way to fix it. Considering the list price for this TV is nearly 500 more than the vizio p series, you would think the quality would be comparable. The Vizio, despite it's freeze up flaw, had MUCH better picture quality. Unfortunately, bestbuy doesn't carry it so I'm stuck having to pick from what selection they do have to use my gift cards.

I initially bought a Samsung tv at a competitor. After having it less than a week the smart hub went out and I had to request a new one. Also had problems maintaining the picture settings. Worst thing about the Samsung was the color saturation, very unnatural. Returned it and bought the Sony from Best Buy. Just amazing! The beauty of the picture and the color tones are perfect. I've got big fingers so I'm not much of a fan of the remote, but it's easy enough to use. Just an amazing tv, I couldn't be happier with it!

Best looking TV out there for the price. The interface isn't the smoothest with the Android TV at first, but you get used to it fast. It isn't as simple and easy as the Samsung TV's but the picture quality is much better.

Bought TV couple months back and it is awesome. Picture quality is amazing. At times wish I had gone for the 65" now. Works great with PS 4. Even with my lack of tech ability was able to set up TV fairly well on my own.

I did a bit of research on TV before buying this and I'm pretty happy with the purchase. I like the smart TV functionality. The sound isn't as bad as I had read in reviews, but a sound bar will take it to the next level.

This Sony has an awesome picture with brilliant colors and black blacks. While there are alternatives that approach the Sony picture quality, it's worth the extra cost if you plan to keep it for a long period (+5 years)

The images are extremely crisp and the color is vibrant. Even if you are not receiving 4K service, the viewing quality is incredible. We watch a lot of ice hockey and if feels like we are at the game. Excellent purchase.

This TV took my gaming experience to a new level. It is the right size for a gaming den and the graphics are amazing. I watched a few shows on this TV as well and was impressed. Definitely worthy investment for a gamer.

I've yet to find any faults with it. So much better than my prior 720p Sony. Sound & picture are both excellent. Newer models have come out since this model was released, but it should hold it's own for quite a while.

This is our 3rd Sony HDR Television and the picture quality are far more better than the previous model. This allows me to use my Alexa and control it along with my 4k PS4 Pro. Great for movies, games, and even on PC.

I have 65" LG OLED TV. It is slightly better but for half the price this TV is awesome. Actually better in a bright room, fewer reflections and brighter. Highly recommend it, especially with price reduction to $999

As usual, Sony scores another plus with a television that touts exceptional clarity and color control. This set replaced a Trinitron that 'finally' after 18 years decided to stop working. Also like the stand it uses, seems to offer exceptional support and stability. On the downside, Sony needs to get in line with other mfg's on comparable pricing. For those of us that are less than tech savvy, an old fashioned printed user's manual would help for setup and a glossary of terms would be appreciated too!

Bought this t.v. to replace a 50" DLP that was 9 years old. This 55" Sony is far superior and my wife is very happy with it. Set up was not too difficult, picture is fantastic and we obviously made the right choice.

Fantastic image quality, overall build quality is very high level. Would definitely recommend. I've been playing Horizon Zero Dawn on my PS4 Pro with the TV and the 4k with HDR is a world above my previous plasma.

Bought this tele in December 2k17, I’m now giving it the review it deserves. Just like all the other Sony tv’s I’ve owned, all I can say is “ it’s astonishing” it’s a work horse. Perfect in every aspect, picture quality. 10, performance. 10, easy to control. 10. Only regrets is I should have bought a 65in instead. That’s where the x950g 65 comes in, my next buy, probably for the holidays. Sony TV’s are the best on the market in my opinion period

I wasn't sure it'd be worth upgrading to a 4k HDR TV. after the initial setup, my concerns melted away as I stared, mouth agape, at all of the wonderful 4K HDR videos on YouTube. Wonderful black levels and colors.
