I checked the reviews here, on Amazon and on CNET, they were all pretty good, so we went with the reviews and bought the Sony. BestBuys price was very competitive and we were able to pick it up in person rather than wait for delivery. Set up was very easy as we didn't want to use the App's installed on the tv. The picture is very good, better than the 11 year old Panasonic plasma it replaced. There are plenty of inputs, HDMI etc. Our only issue was that our existing HTIB was so old it wouldn't connect up so we had to replace it as well, but that turned out to be a good thing. The sound out of the tv's speakers, as the reviews all said, is just ok so get yourself an external audio set up. Other than that, the tv turns on when we hit the remote and there have been absolutely no issues so far. We recommend this tv.

My son needed a TV in his college apartment so we bought this awesome new Sony 4K HDR TV and gave him our Sharp Aquos which has a gorgeous picture. I knew nothing about TVs when I arrived at Best Buy for the Black Friday pricing. The crew that work in the TV section know an exceptional amount and I purchased an awesome TV at a great price thanks to their help, we spoke for 30-40 minutes and viewed numerous TV’s while he explained the differences and features. We do not have cable hooked up to this Sony Smart TV and we don’t miss it. Also, it has a Beautiful precise picture. The sound is great too, I hooked up the Sirrius music app on the TV from my car account and we went back and purchased the Sony 4K HDR 2.1 sound bar to play as a stereo. It is great. I highly recommend this model which is the Sony 900 series.

When my expensive older Plasma broke, I was in the market for a high quality 4K TV as my main TV in my family room but needed to stick to a budget. The reps at Best Buy were knowledgeable and patient with my questions. Hands down they recommended this TV and now I understand why. Picture is crisp. Sharp colors and deep blacks even better than my Plasma. Smart TV functions are a breeze to use. Once mounted on the wall it has a sleek look with a very small frame. Only critique is that picture quality deteriorates quickly while viewing on an angle.

Sony tv's have always been my favorite. I have owned other brands but Sony is by far the finest. Great picture quality, easy to set up and with 4k it even enhances non-4k content.

I read all the tech site reviews as well as ones from people who purchased this set. Came down to this or the Samsung 8000 series. The Sony was just a little better. Like any TV, you need to get into the deep menu and adjust all the picture settings. I have not looked at any 4K or HDR sources but just regular broadcast pictures are amazing. Give this one a look-you won't be disappointed.

The unit was easy to unpack, set up and program. It is connected to a surround system and a Sony HDR blu-ray unit. The overall combination eliminates movie tickets forever. It is an incredible television and well worth the price,

The picture quality out of this TV is phenomenal. Only drawback is the Android platform it comes with which is a step behind Samsungs Tizen. I bought this TV for its picture quality and it exceeds Samsungs Tv's for its price range.

I hedged my bets a bit on this one. I had also purchased an LG 65 inch TV, the 7700 model but when I set it up, no matter how much I played with the settings, I could not get a picture with the quality, sharpness and appearance that the Sony 65 inch TV that we had purchased for my mothers Condo in Naples achieved. So I also bought the Sony 55XBR900E, the 55 inch version of the same TV that we had purchased in Naples. The difference was huge. The colors were more vibrant, the picture was more natural (the LG looked more like a video tape) and the sharpness was outstanding. It cost me $150 more and I lost 10 inches on screen size but it was well worth it. A word of caution though. When shopping these TV's keep in mind that all that the stores display is a 4K quality picture. In reality, there is very little 4K TV being broadcasted. So don't expect to see anywhere near the vibrancy of what they show in the store. If possible, ask them to show a live broadcast to see what you will actually see most of the time. Then you won't be disappointed when you set up your TV and it fails to look as good as what you saw at the store. All that said, the Sony TV is by far, the best in the field, in my opinion. Superb picture quality. Amazing brightness.This is one of the best TV released in 2017. HDR picture quality is awesome.The USB 3.0 drive can play most of the files.Comes with lot of inbuilt apps where you can stream 4k content. Cons. only defect i felt its ability to switch audio if you have multiple audio sources like a home theatre or blue tooth headphones. The 'ARC' method used to revers loop the audio does not work.However for this occasional issue, re-powering the tv makes you resolve that issue

I have had this TV for about 2 months. I am very pleased with Sony quality and features. This TV has a great picture. It was very easy to set up and to hook up each component. The included remote control has the ability to be used with a Comcast cable box, other home theater components, and Sony equipment is as simple as plug and play. I had a hard time deciding on which TV to purchase as there are several TV's in this price range or below. After bringing this TV home and setting it up I am happy with the purchase. We are enjoying watching our movie collection all over again because we are seeing things we didn't in the past. Using only a Sony Blu-Ray player. Can't wait to get it all hooked up to full 4K. Google Play was easy to get going and to access our library.

I went from a 1080p Samsung TV to a 4k Visio Smart TV to this Sony Android 4k Ultra TV. This is the best by far! Pros: * The sound is a lot better then I expected coming from a flat-screen TV where previously a sound bar was 100% required. * Having the whole screen being led back-lit does wonders for color and brightness consistency. The blacks are strong and the picture is vibrant. * I searched for about 4 months looking at what TV to get. In my opinion this is the best TV for the price range. In order to get a better TV the price jump was dramatic. Very much worth the price! Cons: * Occasionally the apps seem to freeze requiring an app restart. * Once or twice I have had to go find the wifi network because it had forgotten to auto connect. Neutral: * The android function is really cool, its not quite as smart as a google home but it is still useful. I'm hoping with the next update that the google features will become more refined. * I have not had any issues that took more then 10 minutes to correct through a app or TV restart. * I have found two features so far that google will say are not yet available. Hoping they come in an update. (Using OK Google to set an alarm or sleep timer) Overall: I LOVE this TV and it should only get better with google updates. The picture is amazing and the hardware has been very reliable. I used to be a huge Samsung fan but this TV has converted me. Sony joining with Android is the icing on top.

Sony comes through again. Outstanding picture quality, easy to use remote. The only issues I have is the sound control oprions. Some things are not available in certain sound modes. Should be more user control to tailor sound to the individuals preferences and hearing issues. Also, can't seem to get certain apps to be recognized when searched for. For, example the Science Channel app. Can get it for Galaxy S7 and cast to tv but can't find it in play store for tv. For those minor points I would rate 4.7. Sony is more expensive than other brands and it seems they set price. Searching for deals is almost fruitless. Right now BestBuy regular price is $1199, they had it on sale for $1099 and black Friday was $999. I personally believe $999 should be the set price.

This Sony TV has great picture quality. The sound could be better but you can always add a sound bar. The upscaling of the picture from HD cable makes the picture look almost like UHD. The upscaling of a DVD is equally as good. The only negative I have found is the Bravia Sync feature. Using an HDMI ARC to a Sony sound bar and using the correct input to the TV HDMI ARC the sound bar sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. The settings are all correct but if I turn on my older DVD player all of a sudden the sound bar will output the sound and the internal speakers will shut off. I will pursue this problem more as I use it. The smart features seem to work pretty well and seem to be easy to work. We really enjoy the picture on everything we have watched.

Excellent picture quality, very good contrast. Speakers work well in our living room, no need for a sound bar. Works well with Amazon Alexa, we can turn on/off, switch HDMI, change volume using voice commands to Alexa.

Beautiful picture right out of the box. Sound is very good. I bought a Bose sound bar because some of the reviews said the sound wasn't that good. Although the Bose sound is extra good, I only use it when I watch a movie because the internal sound is more than adequate. I got this 55 inch set for the bedroom because I have a 65 in 4K Sony in my den. It has spoiled me due to the beautiful picture it has. I got this set at the Black Friday price but did not get the Sony 4k Blue-ray player. The price for it has gone up $50. Not buying it was a mistake. You cannot go wrong buying this TV. I have not found anything wrong with it and I haven't changed any of the settings. The picture is so good that I don't want to do anything that might mess it up.

I was hesitant to pull the trigger on this purchase, but couldn't be happier now that I have. The picture is crisp, bright and clear. My Xbox runs extremely well with the HDR capability. Very happy with this purchase!

Amazing tv. Best picture quality I have ever owned. I have high standards and this tv more than satisfies me. I look forward to watching movies even more now. Easy to use and has more features than I knew I wanted.

Love this tv! Very good picture quality. Live football mode is the best for watching games ! Bought a better HDMI cable for sound. Next purchase will be a sound bar. Cant wait to hear that on this tv! Easy set up!

I purchased this TV during Black Friday Weekend when on sale for under $1000. I did lots of research before purchasing this set. I was down to this and the Samsung. To me this has a better picture and colors than the overblown color on Samsung sets. 4K on this TV is incredible, not that there is much 4K content available. Regular HD looks very nice on this set as well. The picture is crystal clear and vibrant. Standard def looks OK but not great. I was replacing a 12 year old Mitsubishi DLP that performed great I was just sick of replacing the bulbs every year. I was so happy with the TV I purchased 2 more. I gave 1 to my Mother and one to my inlaws for Christmas presents. I would recommend this set to anyone. great television.
