Love the color and picture.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the new TV. Set up was very easy and walked us through everything we needed to do. The color is much better and picture is much better than the 1080 TV we replaced. We have a Sony sound bar connected and it starts up automatically when we turn on the TV. We have Google Home set up and love that we can just say "Hey Google" "Turn on the TV" or Play "_" from Netflix and everything starts without even picking up a remote!

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have long been a SONY fan. We placed a SONY TV that we had for more than 15 years as we wanted something larger. The picture detail is incredible. the colors are bright. The sound is good though I would not call it great. The voice remote does not always find the channel we want. Overall we are happy with the tv and recommend it.

Picture is mind blowing
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research and picked the 950H over last years' Samsung Q80R (which is better than this years Q80T). My old Sony was 11 years old so either TV was a huge upgrade. I went with the Sony because it has Dolby Vision, better color accuracy and I have an Android phone and am familiar the OS. Samsung has some better gaming features I don't need. Some complain that Sony has blooming issues, but the Samsung avoids this by sacrificing detail and honestly, I have seen no blooming in a lit room with Local Dimming set at Medium. There is an annoying rainbow reflection of room lighting, but I moved some lights a bit and it is not a major issue now. I had an issue getting sound from my DVD player...I adjusted HDMI format from Enhanced to Standard for that input and that worked. Enhanced is only needed with 4K devices. My research told me the Custom picture mode was most accurate and I agree. I read some forums and found some additional tweaking to calibrate the TV myself without paying a pro and the picture quality has reached a level I cannot fathom. Skin tones are perfect. The 55 inch has improved sound over the 49 inch and even though my family complains the 55 inch is too big, it is worth it IMO. The remote is kind of cheap, but I have learned to like a lot of its functions. Putting the legs on was confusing, but setting up the TV was quite easy on screen. I am very happy with my choice.

An excellent smart TV and home theater hub
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first smart TV, so I can't really compare it to others of that ilk. The unpacking and setup is straightforward, especially if one watches the videos on the Best Buy web site. Network setup via Wifi is also simple, and the built-in apps work just as well as those on the Apple TV that we had previously used (although the GooglePlay store doesn't have some of the apps that we use). Getting the TV to communicate with the AV receiver was for me the least intuitive part of the setup. The online manual for the TV is not particularly helpful nor the manual for our Onkyo receiver, but a Google search led to the correct settings for the receiver, and now everything works as I had hoped. The picture quality is great, and the sound from the built-in speakers is much better than that on the 46-inch Samsung that the new set is replacing. It's also great as a control center for streaming music from Pandora, Sirius, etc; the fact that one can turn off the picture while listening to music is a plus. My only complaint after three weeks with the unit is the rightly maligned remote control, which may well be the least ergnomic design possible, thanks to the placement of the number pad at the very top of the remote.

Finally....My new 4K TV search is over!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fabulous picture even in a sunny room! With my old set, the glare and reflections made it impossible to enjoy any program on a nice day. Problem eliminated with my Sony X950H. And the picture and colors are also unbelievable. Even non 4K shows are looking better on this TV where up-scaling is great. Wonderful 4K picture as well. Deeper colors and definition...great deep blacks. And a very good price from Best Buy. The perfect choice for the room it is in. Why the perfect choice? Because my home and personal advisor from Best Buy who I consulted before purchase is Richard Merrit. He came to my home as a Best Buy home shopping consultant, and chose all the perfect equipment (TV, Wall Mount, and all involved including installation) that I purchased. You deserve the same shop at home service with Richard specifically who I would recommend (and have) to family members and friends who have thanked me for it. Don't use any other Best Buy home advisor. Richard Merrit at the Yonkers NY Best Buy is the best....honest and very sincere. Call that store and ask for him specifically.

Amazing picture without the OLED concerns
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A little context -this TV was bought to replace a less-than 2 year old OLED. I had a bad burn-in experience with OLED, and the manufacturer was less-than-great to try and come up with a solution. That TV was AMAZING, however I will not buy another OLED. Sony LED's come out of the box with what my eyes perceive as almost perfect picture quality; very little adjustment is needed. we have an 85" X900 for our home theater, and I knew I'd need a little more brightness for where this TV was being mounted. The peak brightness is a plus, as this TV is in our window-filled great room. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the x950 in our sun-filled room, and would recommend to anyone looking to get as close to OLED without the fear of burn-in

Sticking with the Sony brand
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this TV, great picture, ease of use. The sound from the TV speakers are a bit shy of what I expected but I did purchase a soundbar at the same time. I have helped friends/family with setup and installation of their TVs over the years and have found that the quality and build of the Sony brands are top notch. We have Google Speakers in a few rooms and can use Google Assistant to operate the TV. Still learning the capabilities of voice commands. IF you do have a hearing loss and were planning on adding a wireless headphone to this TV, please be aware that different Sony models will mute the sound coming from the TV speakers or Soundbar when using the headphone jack. Some models won't.

Superb
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best tvs around, period. This tv is bright, sharp, colors are exceptional, but the blacks shine especially. There is detail in very dark images which most tvs get wrong. There is some blooming but not enough to bother you and it doesn't ever affect the actual picture on screen, just the black bars. The tv is built well abd the sound is decent but you will need a soundbar. The only mistake you can make is not getting a bigger size. One of the best leds since the 900e.

Sony / Android TV combination is a winner
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was our 4th Sony LED TV purchase in the last few years, and so far the best. Picture is outstanding -- we expected that. But the big surprise is how far Android TV has come. We actually ditched the Roku and Logitech Harmony remote devices that that we had been using with the previous TV. Android TV does a much better job of tying everything together. It's simpler to locate content across streaming services with the Sony remote / Android TV user interface, and unlike when using Roku, TV functions like the sleep timer are easily accessible. Highly recommended!

Superb, best ever!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thoroughly researched my options for the 55” and went for this Sony because it had the best specifications over it’s competitors. Did not want 8k or the OLED because neither is optimized and/or perfected yet. Wonderful color- best I have ever experienced. Works well through my AV receiver and external speakers. Love telling Alexa to switch the whole system on and off at the same time.

A No Brainer at this price point.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing picture!!! Nothing in this price range comes close imho. I run an audio/video production studio and all I can say is this Sony out performs a high-end 5k video editing screen I use in many ways. Beautiful colors, depth, dark blacks and excellent motion. I don’t use the built-in speakers (although they were pretty good compared to most), but I believe most people nowadays get a sound bar or surround sound system with a centerpiece like this.

Fantastic 4K TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enhanced contrast and slim bezel design provide immersive viewing from any angle, unlike other TV's I'd had before! The TV's picture quality is fantastic! Because of the slim bezel design, the TV looks huge, even for a 55" model. The only thing I would've liked to see in a Sony TV is have it NOT be Android TV assisted system but an Apple assisted system.

Absolutely stunning picture
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought the Samsung Q70T and traded it in for the Sony 950h after it started glitching. Best decision ever. The picture is much more lifelike and I believe the blacks are deeper and more consistent. The Sony runs on google play and the OS is much smoother easier to use than the Samsung. Definitely worth it to spend a bit more.

Excellent Picture Quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has excellent picture quality and it is the brightest TV I have ever owned. I would put this TV 1 notch between the best OLED screens, but I was in the market for a TV that wouldn't have any burn in related issues. I'm also happy with the speakers on this TV. I purchased to hang on the wall in my bedroom, so I was looking for something with a great picture and didn't require the purchase of a sound bar.
