Even then it is very close to the oled. this screen needs to be run on min brightness because it will knock your eyes out with brightness. The sound system is tops.

I upgraded to both the X95K 85" & 65" models from an 65" Panasonic Master series limited edition plasma TV. I had both models for roughly 9 months...Didn't want to write a review until I had spent a fair amount of time and media on both models first. Everything in 4K HDR is just AMAZING. Both models are bright & screen filter is great for sunlit rooms. Black level and backlight control is as good as the Panasonic due the large numbers of mini-LED zones...Virtually no blooming at all on the 85" model. Overall, the 85" model is just simply AMAZING! There are some negative reviews on the X95K series due to some blooming, but you will notice that the reviewed model is the 65" variant. I have both the 65" & 85" models and I can tell you that the 65" model does exhibit some noticeable blooming in comparison to the 85" model, but still pretty amazing given the price difference. The 65" model is a standalone setup and the sound quality is good. However, the 85" model is acting as the center channel with the SONY HT-A9. This combination is way better than my previous 5.1 setup with towers, center and bi-polar rear speakers...Especially in 7.1 (Dolby Atmos and DTS:X etc.).

I love the tv. on a aide note in very disapointed with the rs5 speakers as they are very very quiet but that has nothing to do with the tv. I have the x90k but just couldnt resist upgrading to the x95k so i did. My x90k was in my living room which is were the x95k went and i really wanted a bigger tv in my living room so getting a bigger size had a lot to do with it. Brightness wise the x90k in nitts which is how brightness is measured in tvs is 685.6 nitts. The x95k is a MUCH brighter with a peak brightness of 1300 nitts. The 65in x90k has 59 dimming zones where as the 65in x95k has 384, so huge difference. The ONLY downside to this tv is the price. The samsung qn90b ( which i have in my bedroom) Rates higher than the x95k is you look at reciews online and the 65in qn90b is only $1600 compared to the 65in x95k at $1900. Not a huge difference and sony is known to be expensive. The samsung qn90b is noticably very much brighter at 1813 nits. I went with sony because i got the x95k open box for $1485 and i already had the sony soundbar and sw5 sub. Also, i like the google tv on the sony better than the tizen tv on the samsung. Honestly i just xpuldnt afford the 65in a95k at $2800 which is what they are on sale for at best buy at the moment. They are so new there wasnt an open box available within 100 miles of me and the 65in x95k open box for $1485 i am very happy with it. I did compare the mini led a95k and oled x95k and the a95k scores much higher. If you can afford the a95k i would get it but I just couldnt afford it.

As for the SA-RS5 Wireless Rear Speakers, we are sorry if you are encountering an audio issue. The Rear speaker plays surround sound as part of the multi-channel sound or processed from the 2-channel sound. However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source. To troubleshoot and hopefully fix the problem, check out the following link:

This is the best tv ive owned next to my a80J. Its very bright where it needs to be and the black levels rival my oled. Its about as close to oled as ive seen an LED tv get. It’s worth the money iver the competitors miniLED’s because of sony’s processing, I would choose it every time over the samsung’s because of samsungs lack of dolby vision, worse motion handling and radioactive colors. Sony has the best picture and i love this tv. Google tv is the best too!

The sound quality is excellent. It also has Google TV and it has the Chromecast beltana, which was important for me. The only thing is a negative. Is it runs out of memory real fast? If you download the apps, so you will have to buy a a memory card.

I don’t always buy the “just released, latest and greatest” TV. I generally wait until the next “latest and greatest” model is available and buy the prior top or near top of the line model. I purposely chose not to go with an OLED but this mini-LED model exceeds my expectations. Brilliant colors, excellent detail, deep blacks, overall we are very pleased. I’m not a “nit-nerd” so I did not run multiple benchmarks on it…I’ve simply used and enjoyed it. It is hands down better than the 8 year old Sony XBR-65X850C it replaced. I did have one problem that I initially thought was significant. Out of the box, the audio quality was poor. I’ve listened to cheap radios that sounded better. But after tweaking almost every setting without significant improvement, I finally tried the “Acoustic Auto Calibration” adjustment found in the menu. Once I ran this, the audio quality improved to a level I consider normal for a high end TV without a sound bar. Bottom line, it’s a great TV. On sale, it’s a fabulous TV.

Sony's first mini LED TV - pricey

Sony in 2022 released their first Mini LED non-oled TV, the X95K, it's expensive and sizes are only available in 65, 75, and 85. Other manufactures already have Mini LED TVs on the market for 2 to 3 years therefore Sony is little bit late in the game. But X95K performs very well, it has much more local dimming zones than X90K which is their next best TV in Non-OLED line up. Be aware of blooming issue around the bright objects, very noticeable in HDR 4K console gaming experience.

Thank you your time writing this review. We're glad you like the performance of the X95K TV. However, we are sorry if you are experiencing blooming issues with the TV. The LCD screen is made with high-precision technology to achieve a high level of performance and picture quality. To achieve this level of performance, the backlight setting of the TV is set to maximize the screen brightness. However, you may notice uneven brightness on the TV when watching in a dark environment or when the screen is blank. This condition is normal and not a malfunction of the TV. If you should find this affects your enjoyment, here are few adjustments that you can do to minimize this condition.
Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.
Turn the Light Sensor setting to On in the Setup menu.
Change the Power Saving setting to Low or High in the Setup menu.
Set the Picture Mode to Standard in the Settings menu.

Initially I wanted an OLED TV, but price range for 65in was a bit high for the nicer OLED models (A90J, A95K) that are also bright. I watch day time TV in a well lit living room quite a bit on some weekends. Picture quality is fantastic on this mini LED model. Blu-ray movies, streaming content from Disney+, ESPN+, and sports on cable all look great. I have the Picture mode set on Custom in settings and increased the brightness a bit. I don't game on consoles that much and only own Xbox One X that I use mostly for streaming. But 4K HDR content look stunning on this TV. I did read about the blooming and halo effects in reviews and after setting up the TV, I played a bunch of blooming test videos found on YouTube. It is not significant. I had to really pay attention around the edges of the bright objects in the videos to really notice it. Yes blooming does appear when it is a pitch black screen with big white subtitles in the bottom. But when watching videos of fireworks display at night, lamp in dark room, close up macro shots of flowers against dark backdrops, the blooming and halo effects are so minimal. During normal TV watching experience, I would never notice it. This is a great OLED alternative like other people mentioned and gives a great contrast, while being very bright. It's not super thin and does draw a bit higher power compared to OLED Sony models, but I don't have to worry about burn-ins or organic diode fading in the next 10-15 years.

Stunning Image on MiniLED

It's in our family room which is darker that other areas of the house. We needed a TV for our bright living room, and so I did my research knowing OLED wasn't ideal for brighter rooms. Mini LED came up and our BestBuy store had them side by side. Purchased this 65" and installed it. The depth and contract of this image is stunning. It's perfect for the brighter room, and the resolution and image quality is insane. Love it. I'd now recommend miniLED over OLED simply because of the brighter picture with incredible depth. My only challenge with this TV is getting Bravia Sync working to auto switch between AppleTV and DirecTV inputs automatically. My Sony OLED does it, but this one is having an issue with the Directv input.

It's not back-lit. Tv has great picture, easy to navigate. Great set. BUT the remote. Sony, why do i need a flashlight to see the remote control buttons? Thats only reason its 4 stars, not more.

Great TV, but not exceptional

Recently my 65” Sony X900E failed. Since I had this since 2017 I decided to look for a new Sony. I ended up with the X95K because the store demo was fantastic (similar to my X900E). After setting it up at home I found it was a nice TV, but it could not match my X900E for sharpness and realistic color. I’ve had good luck calibrating my TV’s in the past. The TV is capable of getting a similar picture because the Hulu app has excellent picture quality. Since then I have repaired my X900E and put it in my bedroom and the picture quality is still amazing. I originally tried the A80K Oled, but it didn’t meet my expectations. It didn’t have the “pop” of the mini LED.

I didn’t realize what an amazing upgrade this was until I started watching. The picture is fantastic when streaming 4k content. The colors look natural and not over saturated. I have not experienced any juddering and fast scenes look great. The contrast is great, so dark scenes have lots of detail you can see. The blooming is minimal and not an issue for me. I think every tv has its pros and cons. For me, the natural colors, fantastic picture quality and sharp details in dark scenes far out weigh the slight blooming. It’s easy to use and setup too. The Google tv is easy to navigate. Finally, it’s more versatile than an OLED. Whether you’re in a bright room or dark room the picture is impressive.

I know Sony costs more but I love this TV. The Google OS was the reason I went with the Sony brand to start with however the TV has excellent picture, simple controls, and just looks like quality. The bright factor is way too much so I calibrated it to suggestions by professional on YOUTUBE. I also added a Sony soundbar for amazing sound.
