Amazing Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am extremely specific about my electronics. I do copious amounts of research prior to any large purchase and make multiple trips to stores to see my options in person. I have a smaller X800 Sony Bravia and have been impressed with the picture and "SmartTV" options in the Bravia series. When weighing all the options available, the X900 at the size and price was the perfect fit for my home-theater room. It fills the space and the picture is phenomenal. 4K content looks absolutely gorgeous, HD content looks better than on a standard 1080p TV. The built-in options are relatively well optimized and with minor tweaking of settings you can get the picture dialed in for your particular needs. The blacks are dark but not as dark as the OLED TVs however for the price point, the X900 is hard to beat. There are a lot of 4K options out there but they aren't all equal and in my experience, this particular TV stands out. I am extremely happy with this purchase and would buy another Sony Bravia in a heartbeat.

Best non OLED
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Put this tv in the great room on a console. I was worried about the sound quality, it’s really good. No problem hearing any content. There is a lot of reflections on the screen, it’s close to 4 large windows and I have to close the blinds. But it’s an awesome picture. I mean the colors are incredible. I’m thinking of buying another for my loft. It’s really great.

Great TV!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has one of the best pictures out there. Sure, the 65" 930 has more bells ($500 more) and the 65" OLED has way more whistles ($2000 more), but for $1499 (less than what I paid for a Sony 4k 4 years age), this is truly one of the absolutely best deals out there. Do yourself a favor and get one at 24 months interest and it will be an extra $65 a month.

Love this TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love, Love this Sony 4K TV, Picture quality is up there with the best. I am not a fan of OLED, specially the price. This is the best choice around for price and performance, You get a lot of TV for the Money. HDR really works and full-array dimming is a must for any led TV. Bought the matching Sony 4k Blue -Ray Player (UBP-X800) and your in TV heaven.

Awesome TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this TV. The guy at bestbuy told me to replace my samsung with this TV and I would love myself for it. He was right the picture quality and the black levels are amazing. HDR is a new world and running 4k on this TV is very nice. First TV I have owned that was not a samsung.

As I had hoped
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went through 2 other brand TVs and wasn’t satisfied. Went back to Best Buy and talked to a team member who showed me this tv. I told her it was a little out of my price range but I’d check it out. The colors on this thing are beyond any other tv I’ve ever owned and unlike other TVs, the blacks on this are DEEP AND DARK! Love it. Can’t go wrong.

Great Display for the Price - OS quirks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did extensive research before purchasing this TV, including:Samsung LCD based LED and QLED sets, and LG OLED sets. The Sony is positioned just below the QLED and OLED sets but delivers 70-80% of the performance. GOOD: -Deep blacks for LCD LED -Local dimming is superior to edge lit displays. This a must to achieve the localized contrast it does. - Color Accuracy - if you prefer true color than this is the set for you.(if you prefer deeply saturated color see below) -Much Better stand than Samsungs improves stability. BAD: -Not as bright as Samsung QLEDs. If this is going in light controlled room you will appreciate the better blacks of the Sony, but it does not have the color saturation that Samsung does. -Android based OS is flaky. WIFI slow to connect upon turnon - so get error if open an app too fast (like Netflix). -Scaling capability very limited: Streaming services (Netflix, AMZN, etc) cannot be scaled so you are stuck with black bars, etc (physical media like bluray can though). -Screen Mirroring (casting) very slow and unusable. BOTTOM LINE: If you are primarily concerned about he Display; want Deep Blacks and Contrast, appreciate True Colors (but don't want to pay for OLED) - and if you are less concerned about the OS, Streaming, Casting, Scaling, etc - then this is the best set you can buy for the money.

Great TV for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These colors are super rich, the 4k HDR is amazing, I was comparing to a 930 version but ended up going with the 900, reason being is that I could get a 65'' 900 vs a 55'' 930 and bigger is better for my application! I would recommend this to anyone over a Samsung, only thing better is the new OLED LG but I wasn't paying that price for a TV

Best LCD today
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sony TV's have always been very reliable. I upgraded a 46" Sony from about 8 years ago for this one, and that one is still like brand new. I seriously considered Samsung and LG this year, but true color realization from Sony beats the competition hands down again -- just like 8 years ago. They key is to look at red images -- they tend to appear more orange-ish in other TV's. Sony also uses true black, not the simulated black like others. As for this TV - the best part in addition to the above are the 4K, HD, and Triluminous display enhancements to picture and color quality. I paired this with a Sony 4K AV receiver (my first...traditionally been a Yamaha or Denon user) and the results have been excellent for the TV with Spectrum & Internet content (Netflix, etc.) and also improved (upscaling feature) quality for non-4K content sources. Although I have a 5.1 sound system, the TV speakers actually sound pretty decent as long as you are in a mid-sized room with good acoustics. The TV is not that heavy (for setting up) and it looks great when off too. The Android operating system is also probably best in class and handles pairing with Andriod portable devices like a charm.

Love this TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I considered this purchase for a year. I was waiting for prices to drop at year end as they always do. I was actually looking to buy the 65 inch 930. I ended up buying the 65 inch 900 and it is exactly what I wanted for hundreds of dollars less than the 930. I do not have cable. I watch over the air tv and streaming via Netflix, Amazon. Also play Xbox 360 and Wii. This tv does it all. I unpacked it and set up myself. Connected to my WiFi and streaming accounts with ease. Great purchase. 4 stars because I have only had it for a month but no problems yet.

Picture is great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm really impressed with the quality of this product. I have no problems with the TV. My problem is with my 12 year old home theater system. It does not have HDMI inputs or outputs. I can't hook the smart streaming to it. Other than that the TV is everything I expected and more. I had it installed by the Geek Squad and that went well.

Great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price range you get a awesome picture just under OLED. The blacks are awesome. Color and definition are realistic. The 4K viewing takes people's breath away. It links up great with the PS4. Game picture is super clear. Can't wait for the PS5 to complete my experience. If your looking to spend under $2000 this is the tv for you

Excellent low input lag, amazing picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're in the market for a 4K HDR TV, allow me to rave about the 65 inch Sony XBR65X900E. Back-lit, 4K HDR.. with some ridiculously incredible reviews all around. Powered also by Google / Android TV which is a nice plus. The input lag is crazy great... so if you play FPS games, you're in for an impressive experience. Plenty of suggestions on best calibration settings too. Can't really complain. If I did have a complaint, it would be how their settings are kind of haphazard and in different spots... and figuring out what should be simple things, were not that simple. Also on first boot up of the TV, it did something with these dumb animations that took a few minutes before I finally just hit a button and then they went away. Lastly, Android TV has a few updates to do so once you connect it to wifi -- prepare for 30-60 min of updates and such. All in all, super impressed.

Great Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture is really amazing. Even cable looks excellent. Very good out of the box picture settings. HDR 4K on Netflix looks stunning. User interface is okay with the google android system, slightly slow, but arent they all. Probably will use an Apple 4KTV anyway!

Awesome TV... on the way to great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good color, good built-in sound, stylish, all the apps I want, works with Google Home (at least somewhat). The downside is the remote. it's sort of clunky and you could find obvious ways to improve it by using it for just a couple of hours. They phoned it in on the remote. Also, Android TV feels like a work in progress rather than a cohesive system for creating a smart TV. I just came from a two year old Samsung with a better interface.

Incredible Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a four year old Samsung with this Sony and I couldn’t be happier. The picture is fantastic, the processor is lightning fast, and the Smart features actually are. Netflix loads extremely fast with just one button press. Installation and setup were easy, and when I had a question, phone support took care of me quickly.

Excellent balance of performance and price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I stepped up to 4K / HDR this year with the Sony XBR-65X900E, with a focus on gaming. So far, I am not disappointed. Not only is the TV thin and stylish, but the picture quality is excellent. I can say that my PS4 Pro looks astonishing with HDR games and the Android TV functionality is a big improvement over my last smart TV.

Excellent 4K TV for gaming!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally I just had a 1080p HD Samsung TV which I loved. It had a beautiful picture and quality was amazing, I got it in 2014. Fast forward to 2017, the now, I purchased a new Xbox One X and wanted to experience it in all its glory to its full potential. Don't get me wrong but even with the 1080p tv it looked pretty good, but I knew it wasn't being pushed to its limits. After countless of hours of looking online, scouring forums, and reading reviews on rtings.com, I came to the conclusion that the x900e TV was what I was looking for. Got a terrific deal on black friday for $1499. Which the price couldn't be beaten. Took it home and mounted it on my wall and proceeded to wait quite a bit for the update to be performed. Once all that jazz was done I was able to see first hand the difference between 1080p and 2160p 4K. Man was the picture quality out of this world. The clarity was unreal. And playing a native 4K game was amazing. Would definitely recommend this to anyone in the market for a 4K set. It's not OLED status but its freaking good especially with the full array backlighting. You will not be disappointed!

What a great tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start off with the two things I don't like. 1) It has a large power brick. I'm used to cable only but there's a brick and it just adds to the mess behind tvs. 2) I don't like the settings menu. It's very difficult to change between picture modes (vivid, sports, etc.) because you have to go through multiple submenus. Despite these two small issues I don't like, I'm still giving 5 stars. The picture quality on this TV is top notch. Even if you don't have a 4k source, this TV makes HD look 10x better. You can customize your settings to however you like, and there's a lot so it might take you awhile. I can't comment on the sound quality because I have it hooked up to my surround sound, but it's a Sony so be proud.
