This Sony met and exceeded our expectation!! We recently moved and wanted to replace our 55" Samsung with a 65" TV. Originally, assumed we would stay with another Samsung, but upon seeing this Sony at Best Buy, we loved the picture and decided to do a little more research and consider this TV. The next week it popped up on a Best Buy Flash Deal and the price drop was amazing for those few hours! Couldn't resist. We absolutely love the crystal clear picture and it's great for viewing fast paced sports!! Our family loves ice hockey and the puck never blurs on this TV!! Sound is adequate and so far we have not found the need to add a soundbar. Bonus...the remote is wonderfully user friendly. Overall extremely happy!!

Purchased this TV needing a decent size TV in my bedroom. Size is perfect for viewing and speaker size. Mounted on a wall in a corner. Originally purchased a: Sanus - Premium Series Swivel TV Wall Mount for Most 42" - 90" TVs - Extends 28" - Black Model:BLF328-B1SKU:6331611 Returned Sanus wall mount because swivel dimensions were different than what was printed on box. I ended up going on Amazon an Echogear Full motion articulating TV mount EGLF3, Echogear Soundbar mount, and Echogear TV mounting hardware pack (extra screws just in case original TV mount packaging bolts do not fit the way you want). Highly recommend purchasing Echogear TV mounting hardware pack to save on trips to hardware store for that one bolt to make it fit correctly. Echogear TV mount was perfect for this Sony 65". You can put your tv information on their website to choose what suits your needs. I went to the Echogear website and purchased online at Amazon during cyber Monday for more savings. Here are the items I purchased to compliment my electronics: ECHOGEAR Full Motion Articulating TV Wall Mount Bracket for TVs Up to 78" ECHOGEAR Sound Bar Mounting Brackets Echogear Universal TV Mounting Hardware Pack I installed all items myself with the help of a family member to place tv on wall mount (I had the tools and felt comfortable enough to do this without professional installation). Watch the echogear tv mount installation videos to see if you are comfortable doing installation yourself. For the soundbar I purchased a: Sony - 3.1 Ch Hi-Res Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer - Black Model:HTZ9FSKU:6201448 The Echogear soundbar mount fit perfectly with the Echogear tv mount EGLF3. Not too much space between the bottom of tv and top of soundbar. Soundbar mount brackets will go on rear of TV bottom two bolt holes. Top two holes will need one or two spacers. TV mounting bracket will go on top of soundbar mount and spacers. Use the correct size bolt for installation. The Echogear instructions show correct depth of bolt. Also for TV and Soundbar I used the bestbuy website specifications drop down menu to verify the weight of each item. After calculating the weight I knew my electronics would fit on the wall mount. This was my first time installing a TV mount and soundbar mount. I followed all instructions, actually read the instructions multiple times, took my time (much more than a professional installer because I didn't want any mistakes) and my tv and soundbar fit perfectly in the corner of my master bedroom. Highly recommend a Echogear TV mount because the swivel is 140°, tilt is 15°, and 19" extension was extremely better than other mounts I researched for this Sony 65". For Cyber Monday price was $69.99 for the Echogear TV mount EGLF3, $24.99 for Echogear soundbar mount, and $11.99 for Echogear Universal Hardware mounting pack. Looking for a TV mount but unsure what to purchase? Then go with the Echogear brand. I was overwhelmed with the costs of all the different tv mounts in store and online. Was unsure about the quality of each one. Then hours of searching landed me on the Echogear page. Highly satisfied. TV and soundbar are mounted perfect. Price, quality, size, color of Echogear products will fit the needs of your tv. Just use the Echogear website and in the options menu click on the mount finder and input your TV information. No complaints. You can also purchase installation online if you're not comfortable installing this yourself. Hope this helps the beginner do it yourself tv installer!

Overall, I am satisfied with this TV. Colors aren't as vibrant as my Samsung Q8FN, but they are still very good and very accurate. The contrast is much better, in my opinion, than my Samsung. Blacks are not as bad as many have put it. Blooming is worse than the Samsung and very noticeable. Android TV is great in terms of content available and user interface. Although every now and then, android does tend to glitch with sound lowering or muting. Restarting the TV takes care of that fairly quickly. Speaking of sound, I love the Dolby Atmos paired with my Nakamichi Shockwafe system. Movies and music sound amazing in the living room! So depending on how picky you are, you may find the cons to be too much or not as bad as people say. I love the colors and I extremely love the contrast. The contrast brings out every little detail you wouldn't get with other TVs. I would recommend this TV!

Several years ago I fell in love with QLEDs. Of course, they were too expensive so we waited. In that time OLEDs rose to the top. We carefully considered what was the better option and the expense. I stumbled upon the early Black Friday sell and decided it was time. The Sony rivaled the Samsungs and LGs on every front. The picture is phenomenal. We still comment on it almost daily. We ended up with a few little perks, like better sound quality, and saved over $300 compared to our preferred QLEDs and even more over the Oleds. No burn in, good viewing angle, sharp colorful picture, deep black. Highly recommend!!

Tried LG's top of the line Nanocell but this X950G just blows it out of the realm. Superb quality picture along with enough brightness to make this the best TV in this price range, no doubt. I wish they could have done a better job with the remote by making the number pad a bit closer to the middle or towards the bottom, sound at times kinda messes up but I attribute to the tall ceiling we have at home. Overall there's nothing equivalent in this price range I'd think.

We love our Sony Bravia X950G, mostly. Picture is great. All the apps download easily and make the experience very user friendly. Our only problem is that we are using ARC HDMI and we’ve found that the sound keeps dropping out. Best Buy Geek Squad said this is common for ARC and told us to switch to optical cable for sound. But this requires us to use two remotes, So this is really a rating on ARC technology failure. Sony TVs are more complicated to fix. So be prepared if you have problems. Sound dropping out is NOT a hardware issue but a software issue. Learn from this and switch to optical cable for audio and use two remotes; one for TV and one for AV receiver. It will save your a lot of time and headaches. The picture is great though! The new Sony remote is also easy to use.

It took a few weeks of normal use for the colors to settle down, and had to adjust the black level, but now it's gorgeous. (Initially the reds were too magenta and the greens were too bright.) I continue to be amazed at how beautiful 4k programs look. And it was well worth the $99 to have their Geek Squad carry it in, unpack it, and set it up. And for $19 they carted away my old huge TV to be recycled. It took them less than 30 minutes - much faster than it would have taken me. If you appreciate accurate colors go with Sony. And the equivalent Samsung was $1000 more.

It's easy to be mesmerized by other TVs and brands that focus on enhanced visuals that make colors pop out of the screen and while that's not a bad thing at all and more of a preference, I'm the complete opposite. I chose this TV because I experience reality when I look at any content displayed on it. I'm more of a guy that wants to notice the fine detail on a person's face while watching a film and that it looks real, with true color and amazing blacks that contrast perfectly with the picture to avoid the fake look. Being a to keep my eyes on a hockey puck during a game did it for me as well. The 960 frame refresh ratio is insane! Way better than my old "240hz" tv. Overall I'm happy with my new TV.

This is a fantastic LED TV. I had an older 1080p 3D Plasma in my den that had stopped working and I needed to replace it. I already own a flagship Sony Z series TV for my living room so I didn't want just any old TV for my den, but I also didn't need to spend extra for the top end model. I wanted a TV that would have all the features I was looking for and not be too much of a sacrifice for what I am used to when the living room TV is in use and I go to the den to watch. When I saw a flash deal for this TV it was the right price at the right time and I am very satisfied with the purchase. I'm going to start with audio quality first. I do not have a separate sound bar or external speaker system setup in my den and with the X950G I don't know that I necessarily NEED one. I don't get true surround sound but for built-in TV speakers it packs quite a punch. I have a very good 5.1 system with my main TV, I wasn't looking at spending hundreds or thousands more on my secondary TV (at least not right away) and with the quality of the speakers that this comes with I don't feel the need to. The picture quality is superb, comparing to my Z9D, the X950G is very very capable and for the significant price difference between the two TV's X950G is overall best quality TV for the money. I prefer Sony's true to content color space, it's not over saturated like Samsung tends to be. The local dimming on this monitor also makes the contrast ratio standout and I feel the HDR scenes in the content I watch are very compatible to the Z-series screens. The performance and response is also spot on. I did not see any issues with screen lag or ghosting while watching action, sports or game content. I turned off the over sampling feature so I wasn't getting the soap opera effect which is a pet peeve of mine, and all content looks terrific! If Z-series is capable of 99% true representation of a director's vision for visuals, then the X950G is like a 97%. I highly recommend this display, you won't be disappointed.

This is my Second Bravia and what can I say - perfect rating. First - it's easy to use and intuitive, I use VOICE CONTROL all the time, now that I'm used to speaking to my TV - I don't care to ever turn it on using a remote, you can literally set it up to listen like any other Google Home device ( if you choose! ) Now to picture quality - don't fall for the hype, this is the highest end Sony had on offer at stores, meaning, my only other option was a Samsung Q9, yes, not Q8 ( I looked at the 900f when I thought about the q8, full array, same speed panel and both are quantum dot, Sony's picture turned out to be better, the Best Buy guys told me it's because their "processing is better", and because "Sony makes cameras, movies - of course their TV's are going to look good" I think I believed that because I did just happen to buy a Sony camera the month before (not without research, mind you) So, for the tech enthusiast - onto picture quality. In one word - STELLAR. Everything I watch looks better, the upscaling actually does something! Yes the 1080 looks good, but I am pretty sure it makes even 4k looks better! I highly considered the Q9 as it was Samsungs best 4K, but for half the price, it was easy to listen to what the people at the store had to say about the 950, and I am pretty convinced it actually has better picture. Now to rewatch everything I own.

Great picture, even when upscaling. The blackness of the screen is incredible. When the screen goes black like when the scene changes, my entire livingroom goes dark and I cant even see where the tv is. I saw a slight difference in picture quality between this model and the more expensive Sony model, but could not justify the price difference. Absolutely happy with this purchase

This is a really good TV. I gave it 4 stars because it is not perfect, but it excels in the most important category and that is accurate color reproduction. Accurate grass color is the bane of most TVs, hence the term "Toxic Greens" that TV reviewers use. Watching Golf or any outdoor scenes that have a mix of trees and grass is truly the best I have seen regarding accurate colors. The Android operating system is smooth. It does have one eARC HDMI port, although you will need an eARC soundbar or receiver. It also does work with ARC, just don't enable eARC in the menu because you won't get sound with ARC enabled soundbars or receivers. The TV has a decent built in sound output system. Anyone who only has experience using a TVs built in speakers will be pleased with the surround effect. It comes with a variety of preset picture modes, including a Game preset. I don't game on it so I can't give any view on that. The Standard and Vivid modes are probably the best viewable preset modes I have seen, although they can, in my opinion, benefit from tweaking. The movie mode, in my opinion is just plain drab. You can watch HDR content in the Vivid, HDR bright and HDR dark mode. It has the Netflix HDR compatibility feature if you use the TVs Netflix app. In my opinion this TV performs the best using the Vivid mode with HDR content. I rewatched HBOs Game of Thromes season 8 the Longest Night episode, which was just a dark blob on my previous top of the line QLED 2015 TV. The experience watching it on this X950G was remarkable. Sony has done a pretty good job of calibrating this TV. Yes it can be tweaked to your preference, but the range is small as the settings for the modes are pretty close. This Sony X950G will get bright. It is a great bright room TV. The reflection suppression of the screen is decent. Dark room contrast is very good. Gradation in the blacks and shadows is good. It doesn't crush the blacks when it reaches a certain point in the shadows like the earlier OLEDs did. Okay, like I said it isn't perfect. If you watch 18:9 or 21:9 content, the black bars at the top and bottom will get Black, but there will be backlite blooming onto the bars if there is something bright next to them. Not terrible, but don't expect OLED performance in this respect as no LED TV is going to do it. If you use close captioning there is very little to no blooming of the close captioning light on the screen. There is one bad and that is the remote. There is no backlight on the remote. Come on Sony, you can do better than that. We all know that this is a review for a discontinued model, but if you can find one it will probably have a good price. I was shopping for a great bargain and had my mind set on an OLED, but the prices weren't coming down, so after a lot of research I decided that this was the best bargain for a really good TV and so far I think it was a good choice.

Had TV for about 1 month. Picture is great, and it has all the bells and whistles! I picked this over OLED because I just can't get past the burn-in issues I see all over the internet! 802.11AC dual band wifi is very reliable. I'm getting at least 300mbps down/up per speed tests! That's faster than the built-in ethernet port! No issues with 4K streaming! Turn down the brightness to reduce blooming, which isn't noticeable during real world use. Blooming happens because the screen is much brighter than the competition. Dolby Vision is nice to have. Check out Rtings. com for an in depth review. I love having eARC, and having the TV control the sound-bar via HDMI with just 1 remote! I use Passthrough to get full Dolby Digital sent to my Vizio 5.1.2 soundbar. I also love Airplay 2!!! Very easy to send anything from my Mac, iTunes, or iPhone to my TV! Easy!! Yes, I've noticed a few bugs. They relate to the soundbar, the soundbar connection, and the "Ok, Google" feature. I love the OK, Google feature, but sometimes it doesn't activate, and there's no reason why. If it could reliably hear me, then it'd be a stellar feature. A TV restart seems to help. Sony seems to update the TV on a regular basis, so I'm not worried.

It's early, but so far I love my Sony 65" X950G Series. Picture is brilliant and the initial set up was breeze. Navigation to other input and Smart TV feature (Netflix, etc) is simple and very user friendly. I still haven't purchased an 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player to truly test the picture quality, but even Fios HD programming offers a dynamic viewing experience. I'm looking forward to years of enjoyment of this TV.

This replaced my XBR55" Sony. The only reason I replaced it was for a larger screen. The X950G is a big step up from my other Sony. Colors, sharpness, and the X950G processor and features are top notch. I did try a LG OLED but took it back for this. The LG was ok, but for my viewing area the Sony worked better for me. Excellent color and sharpness, it's just awesome. You can't go wrong with this one.
