Beware- Made in Mexico

Unfortunately, the TV monitor business is now totally about lowest cost. As such, reliability should be your number one concern if you plan to keep the TV for 5 years. Performance is a bit above average. Chroma is more accurate than LG. Screen glare could be annoying in a sunny room. Picture detail is very good. Most upscaled pictures look good, which is of importance when the basic sources are HD cable, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. DVD at either 1080i or 1080p look alright rescaled to 4K. Old black and white transfers vary depending on remastering quality on the DVD. Some Warner Brothers dvd's from the Film Noir series do not look good on a 65" screen. Not the fault of Sony, though. What you do need to watch out for are glitches due to the processor electronics being on all the time. After owning this for just a single week, we lost volume and the ability to start Amazon or Netflix. I theorize that the software went bonkers. The only thing that would fix this is a full power off cycle. This is not the first piece of Sony gear that has suffered from this form of lockup. Even their Blu-Ray/SACD players are plagued with the problem. Thankfully, this happened before the return period was up. Good advice is to buy this with a Geek Squad plan. My last Sony 55" tv is 3.5 years old and never experienced this type of problem. Thus, buyer beware.
