Purchased this TV primarily for watching broadcast football and basketball games. Was very disappointed in the clarity of the picture and blooming. I spent a week trying to adjust picture settings to no avail. The picture was not sharp and crisp. Motion distortion was around players in action. Distortion around scores shown on screen. I exchanged this TV for the 65” Samsung Q80R which is clear and sharp and no distortion around players in action. Also very little blooming effect. Samsung 65 Q80R was $200 more but well worth it to me.

The tv is amazing. Excellent video quality. Did have to fight it to get it to allow HDR quality video using Apple TV, but once I got that dialed in, I’ve been quite happy with it.

This unit was very bad. Was easy to set-up.The first movie I watched had very bad blooming effects. I tried another movie “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” and it was just as bad. I did read the reviews on this TV and most of the reviews were very good. And I saw a couple of bad reviews but I thought I would take a chance. Sent it back to Best Buy. I own a 55” Sony 4K UHD (non hdr) the picture is fantastic. So I upgraded to the 65” L.G. OLED and it is perfect. Totally worth every dollar more. “WOW”

So good that after viewing 75" in our home we also bought the 65" one. Up-scaling and Streaming are great. Now we are upgrading the receiver to a 4k audio system to match. Ask Geek Squad about tuning your tv after about 1 month of use ...

Very happy with the Sony - 65" Class - LED - X950G Series - 2160p - Smart - 4K UHD TV with HDR. Still a few tricks to learn about using the Sony remote with the DVR, but that is minor. Again, very happy with the TV and it is HUGE. Great sound.

TV WAS great until firmware "upgrade"

TV was great until Sony sent a firmware "upgrade". Not the voice control is useless. It freezes the screen and requires the remote to unfreeze. This make the voice control useless. I have contacted Sony but since the unit is no longer under factory warranty, tit is hard to get them to talk to me even though they BROKE my TV's functionality. All the say is that this is "working as designed". Thanks Sony for forcing me to g to another brand for my next purchase. please hire someone who can make TV's functional again. Here is a detailed email defining the problem that Sony refuses to fix. Please consider this an escalation of my case 06596194 [ ref:_00DU0ItQ0._5004O13xwrr:ref ] Sony 65X950G as the information provided is totally unacceptable. I received a call last night from technical support stating that engineering has been able to duplicate the issue but that is the way the new software is designed to work. That is completely illogical as you have broken voice command which is one of the more desirable functions of this TV. Here is a recap of the issue. Calling up voice command by saying “OK Google” pauses the TV screen and it will not un-pause until you press the play button on the remote control. This is unacceptable and breaks everything except changing channels. Here is the undesired behavior: 1. Saying “OK Google Volume down or volume up” reduces or raises the volume setting as expected but the picture remains paused and you must press play on the remote to un-pause. If you must pick up the remote, why would you use voice command? You might as well just use the remote. This makes changing the volume via voice command completely useless 2. Saying “OK Google Power off” powers off the TV but the cable box remains paused and when you turn the TV back on, the screen saver is on and you must use the remote again to un-pause. This makes the power off function of voice command useless. 3. Saying a command like “OK Google, What is the temperature outside” will give you the temperature but the TV is frozen and remains frozen until you pick up the remote and press play. This is also true of all command directed to the internet like “traffic, appointments, alarm etc”. These commands are now useless since you must use the remote control to get the TV to work again. 4. Just saying “OK Google” and then saying “Cancel” leaves the TV frozen and in an unusable state until you pick up the remote again and press play. 5. Another issue is the “Home” channel comes up often when you un-freeze the TV with the remote. This screen is useless and should be removed from Android TV completely as it does nothing but cause problems. 6. There are lots of other issues with this software such as loss of sound when switching inputs but the loss of functional voice control is by far the worse issue as it is used many times a day. Additionally, when you un-pause the TV with the remote, the show playing is no longer in real time as the show continues from the point in which it was paused. This messes up other shows you may wish to watch on other channels. After the current show finishes as you have lost real time and you will be late to the next show if it is on another channel. As you can see, in my opinion, you have broken one of the best features of Android TV and this should be fixed immediately. Using the TV in this state is unacceptable. If you must use the remote to adjust volume, that makes voice control useless and causes issues and anger with the TV. Thank you for your attention to this matter and feel free to contact me if there are any further questions.

The Sony X950g television is an excellent product. When we compared it to the top of the line tv’s, we felt it was a superior product. The Sony was easy to tie into our internet based feed. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

The Android software freezes on the voice assistant sometime and needs a reset, and HDMI has to be switched before he becomes active again...Else the TV resolution is great! Also there is no need to dedicate a BIG Netflix button on the remote while the Apps button is so small. There is a definite bias there in providing these buttons.
