This sound bar is all it aspires to be and pairs masterfully with 4K HDR passthrough performance. Had a HT-ST9 (previous model) that failed to implement 4K HDR passthough and started having speaker static issues mere months after I purchased it (I ended up throwing that sound bar and my coin in the garbage). I really like the imoprovements in this model and hope its build quality stands the test of time... If this unit fails like the HT-ST9 did I will move on from the Sony brand, their top tier equipment should perform for years to come without fault, otherwise why transfer your coin to the company to begin with? Best Buy is great and I eventually paired this sound bar with a Z9D television for my living room before I left their Magnolioa show room.

Sound quality is good, simulated surround is good. Overall it is good, but overpriced.

That was ok because I got a great soundbar that doesnt make me wish I had a different family!

I had a Definitive Technology system that included a CLR 3000 center speaker and supercube subwoofer. The first thing that strikes you about this Sony 5000 is the build quality is 1st rate. The sound for movies and dialogue is good. The up-firing speakers help fill the room. The remote allows you emphasize vocals if you want. The passive radiator subwoofer creates a nice warm sound. Where it is lacking for me is playing music where it is a flat or a front sound stage only and not enough musical dynamics or separation.
