Clean Sound and No Hassle

In particular the atmos feature did not work and the Samsung support was terrible. Have not had any problems with this since installation. Detects Dolby atmos and digital with any changes. Center channel provides lot of detail and remaining drivers help fill the room. Like the fact that I can adjust the treble, bass, height, distance, and sub for the overall room affect. Perfect addition to tv and my small room as a receiver and 7 speakers to achieve the same is too much hardware. No regrets and anticipate it an investment for the next 10 years.

Overpriced Average Soundbar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Sony rep sold me this expensive Sony soundbar at what turned out to be a slight discount as part of a special package with the purchase of an expensive 55 inch TV and was engineered to enhance the Sony TV's sound dramatically. It has all the bells and whistles including remote, Blue Tooth, Atmos Dolby sound and a wireless subwoofer. For what is essentially a $1,200 add on speaker system for a 55" TV it does not live up to its cost or hype. We have tried all of the several sound settings and the sound is extremely muddy and dialogue is very difficult to understand in a medium sized room, even with the "night" setting engaged. As a background music system using a BlueTooth source it is average at best but not better or equal to much less expensive soundbar systems. The subwoofer has a tendency to overemphasize background noise by rumbling during tv programs and movies. It was supposed to have been adjusted to the correct volume settings for Atmos and Dolby programs at installation (and no it is not in a corner or just behind seating.) I think you can find equal or better soundbars for a lot less money.

Sounds Great, Poor Quality

Being outside the return window I had to contact Sony. They sent a label, I shipped it out. They responded there is nothing wrong and sent it back. Now I have a $1500 soundbar that pops and crackles and they added a lovely 2" scratch across the top right speaker grill. Sounds good, Poor quality, and even worse service.

We're glad that you like the sound quality of the soundbar. It's unfortunate that you're experiencing a lag when using the Home Menu screen. Make sure to install the latest software version of the soundbar for optimum performance:

Loud, clear and surprisingly heavy piece of audio equipment. Clearly made well with good components. Sounds great and while not a complete replacement for the 5.1 system i had with a receiver and towers and sub.. Its small package fits lets it fit just about anywhere (a mantle in my case) and it truly sounds (almost) as good as my previous setup. if you are looking to remove the clutter of a traditional audio system, give a sounder a try.
