This Sony 7.2 Channel receiver has it all! I am glad I purchased this receiver to supplement my home theater set up. Setting it up was easy and the features that come with it are more than adequate for the average home owner. I would recommend you give this receiver a try for the price.

I'm a long time Sony A/V Home Theater user (15 years probably) and I bought this to replace my 6 year old STR-DN1040. The 1040 had 4K pass-trough but no HDR and was giving me some headaches with my new Samsung SUHD TV. To see 4K with full UHD and HDR this is the best product for the buck.

I needed to replace an older Sony receiver and found the features on this unit to be equivalent. The installation was easy and the sound is fabulous. The biggest challenge was connecting all the HMDI cables to the back while the receiver was placed inside an entertainment set.

The look, the feel, the SOUND. Sound? When nothing is playing and the receiver is on and not muted and you hear no hiss - NOTHING, that's dynamic range baby! It's great to say you get what you pay for. Explosions, etc? No distortion, just crushing, clean SOUND. OMG, great...

I'm not a hi tech person, just an old fellow that needs better sound from my 55' Sony and this sure does the trick. It wasn't too hard to set up although I had to go on line for it's instructions since it was an open box item for just $230. I am very pleased with it.

The Sound fills the room no matter the size! How did I watch television without it?

The stereo is good sounding performs well as many features but is missing the ability to use iPad doc that Sony had on their prior models , more of the Bluetooth type .... So with out the DTMF port on the rear cannot use the doc and for this series Sony doesn't make one

I bought this unit because it provided an extra audio output that allowed me to send the audio to a headset preamp that drives 4 sets of headsets when we don't want to disturb our guests in the next room. Setup was just about all automatic and it works perfectly.

If you are looking for a 4k ready receiver this may one the one for you. I like that all of the inputs are HDCP 2.2 ready. It does have some online things but we are not really using them... The unit also has the ability to source 2 programs at once, but if you consider what it would take to send audio/video to another room etc you will probably not do the work. I do really like the unit but if I had to choose again I would go with the STRDH770. Less complicated and less expensive. Be aware that there are some issues with 4K in general. My new ROKU doesn't want to play well with this unit at 4K settings. I am also having an issue with Bravia sync with the Sony TV. I believe it is the old PS3 causing the issue, when I disconnect it everything seems to work... With all of this new stuff please plan to spend some time fiddling to get it all to work, it is NOT Plug and Play!

this purchase eliminated a problem I had organizing several audio / visual devices and funneling them through my surround sound system, it also provided me additional options that I did not expect. I made a good decision to buy and selected a great product.

In brief, I love my Sony 7.2-Ch. Home Theater Receiver! It has so many ways to connect A/V devices that I have 1 or 2 still open for the future. Features galore including an FM Receiver, great remote control, and the sound quality is superb.

Upgraded my old SONY to compliment my new 4K TV. The interface is nice but a little slow. I wish there were more presets on the remote to quickly switch between game consoles. It has brought more power to my speakers and love how they sound now.

This is my 3rd Sony AV receiver in a row, I purchased it so I can watch Amazon Prime in 4K on my Sony Tv. My older receiver did not pass the 4K signal. I also replaced my older HDMI cables. It works great, with crisp clean sound and easy setup.

Love it! Works with my iPad and iPhone for streaming music in my tv.

I like easy access to all menus but with this receiver as well as the remote. Yous must scroll through numerous pages to get what you want and the TV must always be on to access the basic features Other than that it is very nice sounds great

I've had the receiver for about 3 months now and I definitely would recommend this receiver to anyone. It has Bluetooth and connects easily to an iPhone or iPad. The user interface is user friendly and has lots of nice features.

With 6 hdmi inputs, Bluetooth, AirPlay and standard connections, there's no shortage to getting your tunes playing. Some of the setup was a little confusing, hence 4 stars, but it is a strong receiver and well worth the money.

Receiver is fine but shuts down on high volume level.

i have a playstation and a wii connected to the reciever! And works perfect! Also i have a proyector and a tv connected to the 2 put hdmi exits .now i can watch movies and play video games at thesame time if i want!!

Again it took three trips to get it set up correctly, but it is now easy to use with the Harmony wireless remote. The sound is great, especially the surround sound. Can't wait to watch and listen to NASCAR with it.
