Had to upgrade to Hdcp2.2 capable RCVR because of new ultra HD tv. This unit does a great job on both picture and sound without spending a small fortune. Easy setup.

Researched options for a quality receiver for built in surround sound speakers. Also has the ability to have wifi speakers for different part of the house.

I have several 2 channel, surround systems, Bose Cinmate ... this receiver simply sound great and can be configured to about any "sound" you're looking for

I have a Sony 4K and was looking for an A/V receiver to do the job since my older Sony A/V wasn't 4K but still works great and is back in its original box.

I went thru a lot of reviews and different makes and models before choosing this one. It has everything I wanted. Plays great and was fairly easy to set up.

This receiver not only sounds great but is very easy to setup. If you want to tweak it more advanced options are available. I cannot recommend it enough.

Bought Onkyo 555, then 656 and atlast ended up with Yamaha .... nothing can compete with this Sony receiver. Sound quality is awesome with Bose acoustimass 6.

In general it is an excellent receiver for the price. I also got it as an open box unit, on clearance when the new model came out, so it was quite cheap. The one issue that I found was that, I purchased this to power a set out outdoor speakers as zone2, and intended to use the built in network apps to stream to zone2 and use my phone as the remote while outside. The unit powered on the main zone every time I powered on zone2 using Spotify or the built-in Chromecast, so even if I only wanted it playing outside, it automatically made it play in my living room.

Has been overall for me a good theater like sounds system with my Epson projector. It was a good open box buy for me at a low price over $180.

Works great with most speakers with the right setup it can give great surround sound. The user interface could be better and have more options

Looking forward to installing this at the house we are building. So far, I have no complaints about this. Great sound quality and picture.

Great sound and features. Only thing I don't like is the proprietary fm antenna. Wish it had a coax connector so I could connect a better antenna.

I really love this receiver. I read a lot of reviews on cnet and other websites. This receiver was one of the highest rated for the money.

I bought the Sony hi-res to set up a home theater and this one is very nice. I like running everything to this then only one cable to my TV.

I was moving up from a 5.1 and after adding more speakers needed something more for the wattage. The power and the sound quality is great.

Upgraded from Denon AVR 789. This receiver does much better with voice contrast and sounds fantastic. Would purchase again in a heartbeat.

I have this unit driving a 7.1 Klipsch system and it performs wonderfully! Very easy to set up and use. No complaints and would buy again.

Surround sound works very well with 4K ultra HDTV. Subwoofer with surround Makes every movie a realistic experience.

Great surround sound , this device is a little complicated to set up but it sounds great once you get the settings right THANKS SONY !!
