Great sound and features from this mid priced AV receiver. Five HDMI in and three out and HDMI 2.0. My only gripe is that the controls are meant to be accessed from a remote or a TV screen rather than the front of the receiver. I paired this with the Sony BDP-S7200 Bluray player, which also has no controls on the face of the unit.

sony tries to make the receiver a little more modern than all the other ones ive seen like onkyo, denon and pioneer. for the price this is a great receiver and probably the best receiver in this price range. have it hooked up with 2 floorstanding klipsch speakers, center klipsch and a bic pl200 subwoofer and everything sounds clear and powerful.

I am giving this a 4 star review because I think the 1050 is a good system. Mine was really nice untill it went dead a day later. I ended up replacing it with an 850 which I love. Overall, Sony makes superb products so unless you are as lucky as I am, chances are you will love your new Sony Receiver.

Everything it offers it does so exceptionally, but it didn't offer everything as expected (sales person was a little misinformed): 7.2 channel is not quite enough when you are supplying sound to two zones. Still, very pleased with purchase and Geek Squad was terrific with set-up and instructions.

This sony is a Beast. it has lots of power and hook ups. the you can crank up the volume without worrying about distortion like from less powered units... other than that i have to say....IT'S A SONY great product you will be amazed. if you are considering a new reciever you just found the one you should buy

I bought Sony model STRDN1060 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver and the Core Series Dual 5" 3-Way floor standing speakers. They are a perfect match. I use them for my 5.1 surround as well as my music. This unit has a great CNET review. One of the best at this price point.

This replaced and existing receiver that we had. The difference in quality of picture and sound of our Samsung Smart tv is unbelievable. We thought that we had a clear sharp picture but when we hooked this receiver up it became better.

I purchaced this reciever for many reasons, one being that it is a sony, that being said it is everything I expected from sony. The Blutooth is flawless, streaming music ie; Pandora is exilent, the 7.2 surround fills the room with clear sounnd the way that surround sound is supposed to be heard. I have both Bose and Polk Audio speakers hooked up to the reciever with two subwoofers and you can get lost in the movie so quick that you feel like you are right in the middle of all the action. Thank you Sony for another great product ~ Mike

This Sony surround sound system sounds great and I have and 7.1 setup. But I have to keep turning it down because my wife complains to the rattling of the windows. Says when she at the end of the block she can hear our TV playing.

I went from an older Rotel pre-amp amp setup to this. Obviously newer technology and electronics. It took me a long time setting up to dial in where I enjoy the sound as much as the Rotel. Most users will be happy with the auto setup. Very pleased once I got it dialed in.

This receiver is chock full of features! I purchased this primarily because it was an AirPlay end point and Spotify Connect. I was surprised that it would like me configure it to my custom speaker setup (which is a 3.0 setup). Sound is good and quiet, but I have very efficient speakers (Klipsch RF-62 II) so I get more volume per watt. There are three things that keep this from being perfect. -The EQ is not a graphic or wide-band parametric - it seems to only have "bass and treble". -The auto speaker setup (where a microphone listens to the speakers and everything is automagically configured) is not as advanced as other receivers in this price range -The Bravia Sync features don't always work as expected - I own a Sony TV, a PS4, and this receiver, and power control and audio pathing are not always consistent. This is probably something that I need to continue to understand, but it is still odd to me.

I replaced an old sony receiver that has worked great for years. This receiver produces great digital sounds. I have noticed how much better my sound system sounds with this unit. I am very impressed how 4K digital audio sounds as compared to my previous unit. Also, I like the idea of going through menus on my TV versus the small display on the receiver. I also like the "standby" feature for times when the unit isn't producing sound. The remote could use a couple more buttons for all of my inputs. Also, I had to learn that using "Zone 2" rca output jacks can only send analog signals, so no hdmi signals can be sent out.

Love this receiver. The features and sound add up to be a winner. Supports 4k and all the latest standards. iPhone app is just ok. Playing the same source on both speakers A and speakers B can be problematic. If not for that I would have rated 5 stars
