Should've stayed with Samsung
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV had a fabulous picture, but thank God I bought the extended Warranty. Pricey? Heck yeah, but the main board went bad. The crew came out, replaced the main board, and once again it went bad. After 3 times Best Buy Replaced the TV, and I replaced it with a Samsung. My first big screen TV, 14 years ago, was a Sony, but then I switched to Samsung. I had an issue with Samsung's Customer Service and it really sucks, so I switched to Sony. Using the extended warranty on the faulty TV I went back to Samsung as the chances are, you won't have to contact Samsung's customer service because it's rare that the product will act up.

Fabulous TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding pic, beatiful color. Looked at several 75 inch TVs to include the Sony 900F. Went with the Sony 940e because I felt the software was a little better. Both had beautiful pics. Also look a the best Samsung QLED (9). Only pic I liked as much as the two Sony's, but the Sony's were priced alot better. 940e was on clearance at an outstanding price.

Awesome Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was heavily looking at the 75" Z9D but the cost (and therefore the wife) make it a definite NO. So I was going to just get the 900X, however, when I saw the 940E and 900X side by side, the choice was simple. This TV has great dark blacks and bright whites. It's not far off from the Z9D.

So close to OLED picture quality!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to buy a 75" TV at a reasonable price with the best blacks and the best bright picture quality available. In this regard I find the 940E outperforms any other 75" TV out there, and comes so close to OLED picture quality that you can't tell a difference most times. With 1200 nits (HDR requirement is >1000 nits) you get one of the best-in-class HDR implementation, too! Watching regular (sports) TV programming and all kinds of movies, including (high speed races) action movies I could not see any noticeable motion blur that other reviewers are referring to. In the AVS forum there was a mention that Sony would provide an software update around January 10, 2018, to add support for Dolby Vision, which is great, because not only would you have HDR, but Dolby Vision, too! Nevertheless, I couldn't be happier with my choice of 75" TV. Sony's graphics engine is simply one of the finest if not even the best. The sound is okay, but then, I always use my Denon AVR-X6300H 7.2 setup for sound, and everything ARC and HDMI Control works flawlessly. If I had to mention things I don't like, 3 items come to mind: (1) the plastic remote control (looks like Sony uses the same remote control for their cheapest all the way to their most expensive TVs), and (2) the TV's Android operating system, which response times sometimes is lacking, and (3) some glare, which is only noticeable in bright rooms / during daylight. In summary, I rate this TV with 5 out of 5 stars mainly due to its incredible picture quality.

good picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.good picture when streaming 4K content but since so little is available not sure if it is worth spending the money on this tv. either my cable signal is really bad or the tv does a terrible job of up-scaling the signal. I have cox cable that is supposed to be broadcast in 1080p.

Good TV, but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had 4 total replacements from Best Buy. The first two were Samsung 75” Q6FN’s, which had severe clouding and dirty screen effect. Watching the set at night was unbearable. So I decided to go with the X940E. The FALD helps immensely with night scenes. But the two sets I’ve received have had bad vertical banding, along with noticeable clouding and dirty screen effect. It’s noticeable mostly while watching sports and playing video games/watching programs when the screen pans across a mostly uniform background. The disappointing part is that ive tried having Best Buy come out to look at it to figure out what’s going on, after sending me 4 different panels. They simply refuse to, without charging me, and would rather keep sending me panels. So I keep playing the panel lottery and they keep losing inventory on televisions. I don’t know if it’s the way the tv’s are handled, or what’s going on. But after 4 weeks of this I’m about ready to return it and just buy from somewhere else.

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our 65" W850A TV with this monster after much research. Build quality is topnotch and the picture outstanding. Even upscaled 1080p content looks impressive.

Best non OLED or Z9d
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research and comparing. Best TV for money in 75” category. I don’t have $9k for Z9D or $18k for and OLED. Don’t buy into the Samsung Marketing QLED hype. I have had for a few months and well worth it. Price has dropped to a decent value now.

Good picture but very slow processor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We checked out this TV in the store. It had a good picture, excellent colors. What we didn't do is turn the set off and on. The TV speakers are unacceptable but we have a sound bar. We also have Uverse. When we turn on the TV it takes several minutes before the TV, Uverse go on and turn on the soundbar. Once everything on all is good. Also don't think the apps work that well. And Uverse controlled with Uverse control. TV controller and guide reacts much too slow.

Impressive TV for a Non OLED..., not as impressive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In impressive TV but not as impressive as I would like compared to some OLED TVs I’ve have seen, perhaps it’s not fair to compare to OKED but the picture is not extremely good...I give it an 8/10 for overall picture quality

Amazing picture quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Sony TV purchase and i could not be happier. The picture quality of this TV clearly blows away any other TV on the market right now. I’d been waiting for this to go on sale and when it was at a reasonable price, i jumped on the deal and had it installed by the Geek Squad. I put a backlight on it for enhanced picture quality and it stands out above any other TV purchase i’ve made in the past..

Great TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wanted a higher end 4k so that we are prepared for the future. 4k is outstanding when used via DVD or streamed. Cable is ok - needs to catch up to the TV technology.
