Great picture, perfect for the family

It was a great price and quality. The installation was another story. This was a contractor and not the Geek Squad. Never again, I did as much of the installation as the installer. He didn’t bring the right tools to do the job so I supplied them. Worst yet, he couldn’t (we decided not too) install the sound bar to the set so we just left it on a desk under the TV. I paid for it and should get a refund. I’m still waiting to hear from Best Buy about that. After he left the set and sound bar didn’t work together but I was able to get them connected, contractor again.

Owned for 7 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it around thanksgiving 2020 from Best buy (on sale for 15xx) and I am not sure if i made a good decision. I was not expecting such a poor performance from name brand such as Sony. Definitely not worth what i paid for. The only positive I could think of is good picture quality. Here are some of the issues i found: 1. Frequent problem with switching to external speakers when the tv starts. (Vizio 5.1 surround sound) 2. Sometimes the Tv randomly shuts off (no sleep time is set, i dont even know how to do that. 3. Sometimes the apps are not responsive (ex: disney), i have to go to setting and clear data, login again and it works. 4. Play next does not resume where left off (disney plus or HBO max or amazon prime)i have to fast forward the end. FF only at 1x speed. Its really annoying. 5. Bluetooth headphones issues - voice cuts off every few min. 6. Glow in the dark remote and a keyboard on the back of the remote would have been helpful 7. IOS app to control tv has add every couple of min and the other method of connecting thru my iphone (wifi or bluetooth or alexa) not sure how i am able to connect to it, anyways it is not fully functional, no volume control 8. Resume where left off doesnt work very well for Amazon Prime app. 9. Sometimes when you click on an app, TV automatically switches to a browser license agreement screen 10. Very very low memory..cant install additional apps like kids games. I have just a handful of apps (netflix, prime, hbo, may be couple more). I have cleared all the demo content but still unable to install app. Not sure if i could use a usb stick to extend memory. I don’t see the option for that 11. Google voice button on the remote is useless. I can never get it to work.

Not true 4K without an adapter which Samsung discontinued forcing you to upgrade to their newer model. Really Samsung? And the picture started to show white blotches which was due to a faulty TI chipset. That's why we switched back to Sony, and this 75" true 4K is stunning. We still have a 50" Sony purchase in 2012 that still today looks and works like it did when new. Not a single glitch. We'll never buy anything but Sony from now on.
