    Stuck pixels

    Purchased the TV and had several dead pixels out of the box. Sony is being a giant pain on standing behind their product. I understand that not every panel is going to be perfect, but I have a large green spot in the middle of my TV and a large white spot on the bottom left. Everytime I send in pictures to sony, they just want more stuff. Considering returning to best buy if sony won't stand behind it. Cound not recommend at this time, I will update as sony responds to my case.

    My First Sony LED TV

    The TV has been working well. It took a little bit of time to understand the controls on this TV after using a Samsung for years. Samsung had more TV available on its Samsung + so we end up using Airplay to project online NEWS etc. that are to our liking.

    This TV has a lot of difficulties displaying moving images, which is a really bad problem for a TV. The first problem I had was with the smooth motion feature turning itself on automatically. When will TV manufacturers learn that most people don't want to watch TV that looks like it was filmed with a 90's vintage camcorder? Apparently, Sony televisions automatically turning on the smooth motion feature is a defect that Sony has known about for more than two years, but still has not bothered to, or can't figure out how to, fix. Sony told me to update the firmware, but there's a catch. The TV will tell you that you already have the latest firmware. But you don't. You have to download the latest firmware from their website onto a USB stick, then plug it into the TV. That seemed to fix the problem with the smooth motion feature turning itself on, until yesterday. Two thirds of the way through an episode of the Mandalorian, the picture suddenly looked like it was filmed with a camcorder, and sure enough, motion flow was back on. After the firmware update, the TV was displaying very choppy video, which was usually fixed by turning the TV off, then back on again. The next problem to manifest itself was repeated, sudden changes in brightness. I already had the ambient light sensor off, I tried turning off any setting that would affect brightness, such as local dimming, extended range, etc., but no luck. Next problem: the screen would flash for a fraction of a second, usually accompanied by a horizontal line or horizontal band of different brightness, also lasting a fraction of a second. This would happen anywhere from every five minutes to several times per minute. It didn't matter if I was watching TV, or one of the built in apps. I finally gave up and bought a Samsung and am in the process of returning the Sony. Be aware that Best Buy does not make returns easy if the TV you bought goes on sale and you get a price adjustment. I spent 58 minutes on the phone and they were still having trouble processing the return, so I am still waiting for Best Buy to call me back so I can complete the return. So now for the reason the TV received 2 stars instead of 0 stars. The software interface is great. Easy to navigate, easy to customize, easy to set up. The remote is also great. You can read the buttons, and there is some customization available for some of the buttons. My new Samsung has a HORRIBLE software interface and remote, but the TV works. Sony is light years ahead of Samsung on the interface and remote. It's a shame the TV itself was so horrible.

    Excellent screen, clarity, and color depth. Processor is snappy enough to drive the smart features, something our vizio TV is not so good at. Sometimes audio won't work, and have to restart the TV before it will, which is not great. Overall pretty happy.

    Solid TV, but saw lots of blooming and the picture just wasn't as crisp as you would expect for a Sony. Glad I traded up for the 950. Do yourself a favor and go look at these TVs side by side. It'll save you some hassle for sure.

    I'm marking this as a "Good" for now, but may come back and update to "Excellent". Picture quality is not as strong as I'd like, but that may be do to running off of a hotspot as cable/internet has yet to be installed.

    This is a replacement TV for Sony 75" 3D I had before which got stuck on the android update mode and wouldn't come out. It died in the last week of warranty and I am glad that I had Geek Squad warranty.

    Lovely. Super easy to setup. Got the Z9 soundbar and rear speakers to complement. You'll need to hook an ethernet cable directly to the TV for best streaming delivery (avoid the wifi audio cutouts), thus 4 stars.

      For your audio cutout issue when using the wireless connection, does this happen on different streaming applications? If so, please try following the steps provided below and see if it resolve the problem:

      • The Wi-Fi signal strength is weak
      - Place the router close to your TV, then check if the signal strength has improved.
      • Your TV is too close to the router
      - It is recommended that the TV and router be at least 1 meter (3 feet) apart.
      • Other devices are connected to the same network
      - If other devices are downloading large-sized files, such as videos, the network speed may slow down. Cancel or wait until this activity completes and try again.
      • Restart your TV and reset your router
      - To restart your TV, press and hold the POWER button on the remote control for about five seconds until Power off appears on the TV screen.
      - To reset the router, check your router manual for instructions.
      • Interference from other wireless devices
      - If multiple wireless devices or electric equipment, such as microwave ovens, are used at home, it may affect the Wi-Fi performance of your TV. Power off these devices when not in use, or keep them away from your TV.
      - Electromagnetic interference may also occur depending on the location of the TV. If possible, change its location and check if the performance improves.
      • Check the frequency band setting of your router (for dual-band routers)
      - Some routers support multiple frequencies (ex: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz), if your router supports this feature, try a different frequency.
