The image is 5-Star. It's very bright - when 80% of the image on the screen is white it will make you squint. The color and contrast are as close to perfect as you can get. 4k images are crystal clear. The issues with this tv show up when you start using the smart features. Sometimes your video will not play in some or all of your streaming apps and a reboot is required. Sometimes the reboot gets stuck and you must unplug the tv to make it useable again. This happens at least once a week There are noticeable pauses when streaming video - especially in the Netflix app. Hopefully after a few more firmware updates these bugs will be resolved. The sound quality is what you would expect from a TV. If you have a high end tv like this you should have an equivalent sound bar to match.

I decided to purchase the X950G Series based upon reviews that the newer version X950H did not include enhancements making the higher price worth the difference. For me that made sense and I bought an open box TV for further discount. I would recommend doing your homework on the pros and cons. I ultimately chose the Sony over the Samsung because of the blacks and contrast, but it was a close decision. I went from a 65" to an 85", and I love the bigger picture for a viewing experience. I bought this with a Sony soundbar, which I think helps giving their compatibility.

I am very happy with my decision. Beautiful picture. Just as good as in showroom. I already connected my apps for sports viewing. Mine is on a stand. You need minimum 74 inches wide. This was an upgrade from DLP Mitsubishi 83 inch ten years old. I may attach a wire to wall and rear of TV to be safe from earthquake rattle. I considered 82 inch Samsung Q80 which would have been good choice but the size led me to Sony. Both have great picture although very different picture.

One step down from OLED. Have had a few glitches with the WI-FI networking. Had to delete and re-configure. Same for setting up Phillips HUE lighting app to work with streaming movies. Watched a few movies and documentaries and felt like I was there! Overall Im satisfied.

This is the best tv one can get at this price. Amazing video quality. Perfect Don't quality. I own a 85 inch TV and gives perfect shades of grey.

I purchased the Sony 85" primarily to watch sporting events; baseball, basketball, and football along with movies - It has not disappointed. "Large" screen is fantastic !!! I am from an older generation, so I always rely on the Service Manual and instructions for proper setup - on a scale of 1 to 10, what was provided was below a 5. Trouble Shooting (Self Help) Menu on television is also very poor. After one month, still struggling to get remote items to operate properly with this television. Not a deal breaker - but still, it was a lot of money, and having to pay someone to help correct these few issues, is a disappointment.

Awesome TV. Clarity and quality is great. Size is perfect for big sports game. Family loves it. Definitely recommend

After spending lots of time reviewing You Tube videos of Samsung, LG, and Sony 85" TVs, I went with the X950G. Reasons: 1)I have always purchased Sony TVs and I am familiar with the software and how they work with the Playstation Pro that I use often. 2) The OLED sets that I looked at all have very bright and somewhat unrealistic pics. Too bright for me. This TV is a great combination of value and picture and software. I am pleased.

Fantastic TV. Color and image quality is top notch and the body of the TV is super sleek for any space.

Great picture and adjusting is easy. Looks great on our wall. Just need football season to start!

Key points -all my TV are Sony -this things huge! Not complaining wish there was bigger haha -quality is emasculate

4K picture is great. Fast processor is a nice benefit for nextflix and prime TV or other apps.

This tv replaced a 70 inch Visio which had a very good picture. This is in a league by itself. Considered Samsung 82 inch which had a similar quality picture. Just thought the colors were more realistic on the Sony.

This replaced a 65 inch LG OLED tv, I'm more than happy with the upgrade. The apps and features are quick and simple to navigate. Of course the colors are brighter than the OLED but sony has done great things to increase black reproductions with come close to OLED performance.

I’ve been waiting for this tv to go on sale for a long time. Finally I picked it up & I LOVE IT Sony is by far the best top of the line TVs that you can buy. I had the salesmen in bestbuy arguing about the best tv & why? 1 said that Samsung was better mind U he was an older guy but the younger man who just started went to class & pointed out the reasons why Sony was better & there u go Sony out performed & had a better picture!!

I have always liked Sony products, and was extremely happy with this purchase. The TV is easy to setup and configure. The audio, as expected is from TV speakers, and although there are a suitable number of audio setting, I play it through a sound system. I had one problem, which showed up a week after the delivery. The TV stopped recognizing any Ethernet connection. Geek squad came out and confirmed a problem with the TV. The wifi still worked. It has been replaced by Sony, with the 2020 XBR85X950H model, at no extra charge. One thing I'm glad about is that I chose to include the Best Buy service plan.

I have a samsung and replaced it with this Sony. Clear , beautiful colors and it’s really easy to use.
