My wife is really impressed with how vivid and precise the picture quality is. I agree with her, however, my favorite thing is the clarity of the surround sound. The Geek Squad crew, that came to our home to install the TV, were a; on time, b; knowledgeable, c; very well mannered, and d; a pleasure to meet. We would definitely recommend this television to anyone who asked. Oh, by the way, my wife and I would have had a difficult time installing this ourselves, mainly because of the location being over the fireplace. Having the Geek Squad deliver, install, and set up our TV was money well spent! H. Adams, TX

Picture is great, menu is easy to navigate. The TV software setup is very intuitive and easily recognized my cable box and video game. Now I’m using the TV remote for my cable box. I can’t get enough of it. I have it mounted with the recommended TV mount with a slight downward tint. Love watching sports or movies on it. It’s like having a movie theater at home. Great value for the price. Glad I got this 85 inch. I wanted the 75 inch, but that sold out quickly. Warning if you plan to use the TV Stand. The legs for this TV are as wide as the TV, so you need an extremely wide TV stand. Recommend mounting. TV is about 110 pounds, so definitely a two person job.

Great Immersive Experience

I could not be happier! I have no hesitation returning tv’s if I have any issues with them as Best Buy well knows. This one is not going anywhere. The native apps are snappy and custom and standard modes need very little adjustments out of the box. Dolby vision is an extra treat. The price to value with this set is hard to beat. An extra plus is HDMI 2.1 which will be available in an upcoming firmware update. Very happy with this purchase!

Sound is just ok, remote is large but easy to operate. Apps are easy to access and use. Cabinet is a clean look looks good hung on wall, bought 85" great value.

Great value other than a "soap opera" issue

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful picture at a reasonable price for the size, but as you'll discover via various online reviews, the "soap opera effect" flips on regularly despite being "Motion Flow" being set to off, usually after the set has been turned off. To fix, you have to manually go into settings and flip it "on" then back to "off" to disable a setting that should already be off. Hardly ideal for people who care about watching movies and TV correctly. I'm hopeful that the software update will remedy this; however Sony's software update is only available when THEY decide to cast it out to your tv (otherwise you get an incorrect message that the software is up to date), unlike Apple where you can always access the latest update that's out there. This is all confirmed via customer support, who basically just said I need to wait. The other option is to download the software update to a USB drive and manually install it myself, but that is impossible with a flat-mounted tv as I can't access the USB port flush against the wall.

Great picture, software needs improvement

The picture quality is pleasing. I am not a fan of the software. Wi-Fi went down and I needed to reset to factory settings. I can deal without the annoying HDMI port pop-ups.

Love the quality, and the pictures look beautiful. Only thing that really annoys me is that the power cord is not in the center it is closer to the bottom right side of the TV and it is very short....so since I have mine mounted on a wall, the power cord coming down is not in the center and it drives me insane. Its a little design flaw, pretty annoying, but not the end of the world. The TV itself though is AMAZING. We are super happy with it. So I would definitely say it is worth the investment.

Picture and sound quality is great and fast response. Is an Android base system with Google Play store access. My only concern is that only 4 Gb of system memory is available and you are restricted with a limit of Apps installed in the TV. It has the ability to connect additional memory via USB port with an exclusive disk format, but apparently is used only for data, not to install additional Apps from Google Play Store. I have not found a way to increase primary memory storage to install additional Apps. I am waiting for Google TV to expand the potential of the TV.

Colors were not accurate and the TV was not bright enough. I am not a Sony fan at all, but I made the switch and I very glad I did. The Sony 85" TV has a much better picture, accurate colors, contrast, and much brighter than the LG. Sony did something real good with this TV. If you are going 85" or larger and it is not an OLED, you need full array and a better processor to handle SDR content as well as HDR, etc.. Have your TV calibrated also, it does make a difference... I also own an LG OLED, and the picture on the Sony 85" is pretty close to it !!
