I am not much for tweaking picture settings- tried and went full circle back to presets. I have a two year old LG Oled upstairs for my everyday tv and this Sony was bought for rec room gaming and movies. This is the best price/performance In years from Sony. Must have been special PS5 launch price reduction. My tv was manufactured in Oct 2020 and doesn’t have any vertical banding or dark corners(vignetting). As for dead pixels, who knows, because I never look at my tv from 3 inches away. There are a few bugs in the software that Sony is aware of and have been or will be fixed. I am very happy with my ginormous Tv.

Streaming is easy with the android platform than the other smart TV I have. It responds faster. You still get the swirl ,but not as much as the smart platform does. 4K streaming and 4K Disc look fantastic. Cable, not so much It has a grainy look. I have to set back more ,then I can tolerate it better. It has to be my cable company. I won't say who I have. Because all my TV's have the same effect, and my TV are different brands. 85 " makes a BIG difference watching anything!

Fantastic 4K TV

The colors, brightness, sharpness, and sound are way beyond what I expected. The absolute speed of the user interface is also quite remarkable. It's quick and easy to navigate from menu to menu as well as open and close apps to resume your favorite shows without any delay. Another pleasant surprise is how quickly the TV can be turned on or off. This TV is fantastic! Now I just need to get my hands on a Playstation 5 to really put it to the test.

Quality and value cannot be beat

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Despite the firmware flaws, this is by far the best quality TV of its size and value you can buy right now. First thing first, if you are buying this TV solely for the ability to play 4K@120 content (for gaming), do not get your hopes up. The roll out of the 4K@120 firmware has been terrible and the quality of content at that level is not up to par. Just wait a model year and see what comes out in 2021. For everyone else, this is the best TV you can buy at this price point. The picture quality is very close to OLED, with blacks being as good as I've ever seen in a non-OLED TV and the colors being accurate right out of the box. This is the first TV I've had in a long time, including the Sony X950G, that needed very little tweaking out of the box to get the PQ right. If you want a TV at 85", this is it, don't even consider other options. If you are looking at TVs in the 75" area, sure you can go OLED and get an obviously better picture, but you'll be paying 75% more for the pleasure. Worth it? Maybe, but not for me. I will say that the firmware issues with this TV have been frustrating but if you are just interested in using the TV to watch TV and movies and have no interest in 4K@120 content, don't worry about that. Also, ignore anyone who tells you this TV does not get bright enough. They have no idea what they are talking about or they are going by single pixel measurements. This TV gets so bright that I have brightness on 20 (out of 50) and it is still incredibly bright. If you are in an excessively bright room, then sure I would argue that there might be better options because reflection handling on this TV is poor, but it still gets more than bright enough to overcome it so do not worry about it. The rest is awesome. Motion handling, even though I turn it off, is better than I have ever seen if you do like to keep those features on. Colors are perfect. It took only a couple tweaks to settings to get this TV where I would consider the PQ to be perfect. It took far more work to get my X950G to the same level and Samsung's offerings simply won't get to that level unless you go up to the Q90. I was able to get the 85" version of this TV for less than $2000. For that price, the value cannot possibly be beat and that includes ALL OLED options. At the MSRP for this TV, well, you can make an argument in favor of a few other sets but I would still pick this TV. The size and value cannot be beat.

I love the fact that android is built in to this TV. You can sync your controller up and play all the games you can download! The picture is nice, needed calibration since it was so bright. I have a DVR I use to record TV shows, and somehow, it was able to control it and all of the features on the remote. Wow. You might get a somewhat nice picture from higher end TVs, but they don’t have android, and that was the clincher for me. I can’t wait for the new PlayStation to come out. The promise of lag free gaming is exciting.

Big Screen With Great Sound

What impressed me when I first hooked it up was the sound quality. I did not purchase the TV for it's sound quality since I have a fairly decent home theater but this TV has the best sound of any big screen TV that I have purchased in the last 10 years. The picture quality is awesome. I honestly don't understand all the hoopla for OLED TV at almost twice the price. It just doesn't make sense to me. The blacks on this TV are great and the colors are amazing.

Easy set-up, just follow the on screen instructions. My only negative was the width of the legs (60") which made me consider buying a new TV stand. However I was able to find a sturdy piece of hardwood at Lowes and just laid it on top of the original too-narrow glass top after staining it. I think a strong, wide central single leg design would give more flexibility to those using stands

Picture quality is amazing. Warzone on an 85" TV is a whole new experience. I have had some software issues, however. Had to reset to factory settings once because it stopped connecting to wifi. And have had to unplug and plug back in to reset because I had a black screen when turned on. Hopefully issues like that don't persist. I still give it 5 stars but I don't know if I would buy a Sony TV again because of these issues.

The picture is great. We didn’t check how much the tv weighed so getting it on our tv cabinet was hard. Had to get some help lifting it. But once done all was good. My husband loves this tv. Our adult children keep saying it is big. I think they want to trade their smaller tv for it. So far we are enjoying it.

I recommend searching for folks that show how to enhance the settings that can bring out the best color for this one. Not to mention, if you can direct connect with a cat5 or 6 cable to your router, this TV rolls with any app and downloads updates super fast. There is an Arc HDMI connection that is imperative for quality sound for ARC capable soundbars, that I highly recommend getting.

I was really impressed with the ease of unboxing and set up. Manufacturers have come a long way in this regard. Once unboxed and legs installed, it hooked up to our cable box and gaming system with ease as well. The picture is lifelike and gaming is helped by the high refresh rate. We don’t use a sound bar or sub; still, sound is ok. All around, we are happy with this purchase.

Seriously, this is a great TV with an incredible picture. Colors are vibrant and the refresh rate is very good. The sound was good but we have a sound bar so we don't use the built in speakers. I recommend paying for installation as this thing is heavy! I had to use a drywall hoist to lift it into position. Very satisfied with this product so far.
