Good adapter for using A mount lenses

The lens does not have a built in auto focus so if your lens does not have inbuilt autofocus motor, you need LAEA4 instead.

Posted .Hi Lucknowguy, sorry to hear it didn't meet your expectations. Just added info, the adapter is used to attach A-Mount lenses to E-Mount cameras, it enables the lens features you get from the lenses while using the smaller body of E-mount cameras. Thanks_Mitch

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a Sony a5100 e mount camera and I had a A mount zoom lens which was not compatible with this camera but fortunately I was able to find this A to E mount adaptor on the Best Buy website and it worked perfectly with no issues allowing me to be able to keep my zoom lens

A must for use on newer Sony cameras that support native PDAF with adapters (A7RII, A7SII, A7II, etc). I'm using it on an a7II with the 70-200 2.8 G and works great. Used to use the LA-EA4 before the firmware update on my camera. Can't say focus is much faster if at all faster, but I did not like being limited to small number of focus points on the LA-EA4. Nevertheless, still have the LA-EA4 for use on my a6000 which needs the LA-EA4 focusing system. With the APS-C sensor though, the focus points on the the adapter cover more of the frame than on Full Frame, so I don't mind the limited points as much.

While it worked, the focus speed was slower than I needed. It would be fine in a studio setting, but not in situations where AF speed is critical. The LA-EA4 is a better overall choice.
