I purchased this camera because I heard great things about the Sony Alpha series. This camera is very easy to use and perfect for beginners. The pictures are very high quality. I really like that you can send the pictures straight to your computer or smartphone. I am beyond happy with this purchase.

We took this camera on a trip to Southeast Asia to use as a second camera to our large SLR so we had something compact to take out at night. We loved this camera! We took lots of videos and panoramic photos and used it much more than we thought we would. This is a great all around camera, day or night!

I am not a photography ninja and I am still learning my way around this camera. It takes very nice pictures and is easy to use. My one issue is with the wireless picture sharing. I can't get the NFC to work with either my phone or tablet. I did get the wireless sharing to work with my tablet (Nexus 7). But overall very happy.

I wanted something for taking pictures of my kids growing up and produced quality pictures in a point and shoot fashion. I haven't even used all the features but my favorite is the wifi uploading. So compact and user friendly. Definitely recommend to everyone.

This camera is very easy to carry, has changeable lenses, and a very capable automatic mode. It takes very sharp and true color photos from bright sunny beaches to night views if city lights. There are extensive manual exposure controls, but I am happy with the automatic features so far.

Love the camera. Perfect size for traveling. Love the interchangeable lenses. Great photo and video. Microphone picks up lots of background noise so make sure you have external mic for talking/singing. Camera software is not compatible with older versions of Apple OS so make sure to check before purchasing.

Our family is always a big fan of Sony. We had Sony TVs, Sony cameras, and even Sony MP3 player and walkman back in the old days. This camera is another example proving why we love Sony that much. Overall, it's a perfect camera for beginners. It's foolproof, easy to use, and great quality for its value. It's very easy to carry around and super lightweight, compared to regular DSLR cameras but the photos can still give you the DSLR vibe. I like using it to take photos of lights or city landscape at night. I purchased the camera about 2 years ago, and it still works perfectly. I highly recommend it for beginners.

Camera was easy to set up and use created excellent pictures for my Photography Class assignments. I am so glad I found this camera in the Best Buy Listings and the Sales rep said He uses it as well.

My wife and I needed a new camera and finally decided on the Sony a5000. We couldn't be happier! This camera is amazing!! Takes beautiful inside and outside pictures in any lighting situation. Beautiful shots on Auto setting, but it does have a full range of manual settings you can use to get the perfect shot. One test was talking a photo of clouds at dusk with this camera and our old one. The old camera came out completely black, the Sony (even with the low light of dusk) showed all the beautiful colors of the clouds. The video is also a big advantage. Full HD, crisp and clear video makes this camera a must have for photos and videos. Extremely happy with this camera and highly recommended.

I wanted to start documenting more things and get into photography more, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I watched a couple reviews and decided I definitely didn't want a DSLR because of how bulky they are and I came across this camera. It is so lightweight and I believe that is one of the biggest pros because it is lightweight but is amazing. I went to a music festival recently and the battery lasted me all day and the quality from auto focus to audio turned out great. It is also usually always on sale which is good and I think it is definitely worth it. The lens it comes with is good as well and the zoom is pretty good. This camera has excellent quality photos and is very fast from at taking pictures one from the next. Its more in depth than I'm use to, but I'm learning. Takes photos you would get at a photo shoot and it ten times more portable. All I have to say is WoW!

I currently own a Nikon dslr camera and although I LOVE the quality of those images the actual camera body is too bulky for travel. This Sony is AWESOME! Takes amazing photos, awesome quality. Wifi is basically nonexistent but memory card transferral of images is good. Video is also great quality. The flash works well and the battery life is great! Perfect travel camera. The only reason for the 4 stars is the sub-par wifi, everything else about this camera is great!

I am retired and wanted a good camera with at least 20 pixels, one that is easy to use and reliable. I love the way it works and the pictures it takes. There are still a lot of features I need to learn how to use.

The camera is a great size and the quality is amazing. The pictures come out crystal clear and the best part is the selfie mode were you can flip up the back screen. It's perfect for me because I do a lot of vlogging.

This is a fantastic camera for those looking for a compact camera with dslr like quality. The trade off for the size is that it does not have as many functional features or easy to access buttons. Fits in most cargo pants or jacket pockets.

The camera is wonderful for all type of events works like a pro better is the size can definitely take it any and everywhere brought it for a vacation soon to come that'll be great for recording and picture taking.

I have photographed in the night along with low light situations and they have come out very very well. I have used in shaded daylight and not lost contrast levels. It work as a snapshot camera if you want but it is far superior to any other camera in its price range. The flash will override the subject unless you shoot at least 8 feet away. I have put away my Nikon and started using my Sony from now on.

I have been wanting a camera that was more capable than a point and shoot. When I found this one on sale I couldn't resist. Works beautifully, takes great pictures. Having fun playing with the many features.

I bought this camera after many months of research. My friend had a similar camera (2 generations older) that I was able to play with. The camera I originally wanted for a long time was the Canon T3i, I didn't want the 4 or even T5. But used those for comparison (along with a few other mirrorless cameras). There are a ton of features on this camera and many I haven't even used. I tried playing with manual settings and comparing the results to the auto selections they have (and there's more than 1 auto selection). The pictures came out excellent. I ended up buying an additional lens as well, but haven't used it yet expect at home, a few test shots. I couldn't be happier and for the price it was a great pickup.
