This camera takes great pic's without the weight of a DSLR. This is my first experience with a mirror less camera and I'm impressed. The best part of the camera is its light weight which makes it a perfect camera to carry while hiking. The interchangeable lens is a definite plus. I also bought a E to EF len mount adapter which allows me to use my Canon lens as well. The only downside I can find, it does not have a view finder, so you have to use the LCD screen which can be challenging on a sunny day. Other then that, a great camera

The Sony a5000 suites my need for a compact DSLR that takes high quality & high resolution photos. As an illustrator & artist this camera is great for gathering reference. If I worked as a professional photographer, however, I'd probably go with a DSLR camera closer to the $1500-$2000 range. In my professional experience over the past 16 yrs, technology is "throw away"; It's best to buy just what I need to get the job done, since I'll probably be using a different version of it within the next 5-7 yrs.

Camera takes great pictures and is easy to use and compact so you can carry with you. Focuses fairly fast and pictures come out clear love how fast it is when I'm shooting continous also added the 55-210 telephoto lens which it great for outdoor & wildlife pictures

Great camera for Instagram enthusiasts and folks new to the digital camera game. We backpack and have found this cameras size perfect for a more active lifestyle. Lacks the bells and whistles of some of the higher end models and struggles with portraits, but shines with landscapes and depth of field.

When it was time to upgrade from a point and shoot, I was intrigued by the Sony mirrorless cameras with their large APS-C sensors. The pictures from the A5000 are outstanding and the camera very small for this kind of camera. I definitely recommend. Ultimately, I opted to keep the A6000 instead because it has a viewfinder, but I could not see any difference in picture quality between the 2 cameras.

It is an excellent buy to take pictures during the holidays, very good quality, affordable price and with the additional memory we could take all the photos we wanted , I buy as a gift for my daughter for 20 years and became fascinated with the gift they recommend widely . sony is the best.

Awesome picture quality Compact Stylish Light weight still powerful...

After considering pricier DSLRs for years, we decided to try the mirrorless camera because of its picture quality rating and affordability. We have been really pleased with its performance and love the size for portability. My husband took it on a trip overseas and brought home great pictures of the Holy Land. Also we like the option of interchangeable lenses.

My daughter wanted a camera for her 14th Birthday and after looking at many different ones, she chose this one because of the picture and video quality and also because of how simple it was to use.

The camera so far is great. I am still learning about all the features the camera has. I love the wifi aspect. Your pictures aren't lost in digital camera world anymore! Pictures are crisp and clear. Camera is basically easy to use, and I consider myself an extreme beginner!

Nice, compact camera; so I can always carry with me. Got this to replace my Canon S100 which I loved. I wish I had gone with the upgraded German lens that they offer. My first SONY - Does its job for small pocket camera, easy to change settings. Lens sticks out a bit so doesn't really fit in pockets. I have not purchased other lenses. Not sure that I will as I have a Nikon DSLR

This camera is insane - in a great way. It has amazing video quality, as well as image quality, but the video is what I paid for. DSLR camera in such a compact, but generous, size. I'm in love with this camera and the greatest factor is the tiltable screen, really helps for making sure you're in focus when you're recording a vid.

Was going to get the new A6000 as a starter camera for my wife but this was less than half the price and takes some amazing shots. The fact that it's kinda 'last years model' is truely irrelevant as the small size of this mirror less DSLR makes it more useful than a traditional DSLR. A solid purchase if on offer again.

I wanted more than a point and shoot but not the big bulky DSLRs. Tried a Nikon coolpix L120 but tired of bulky thickness and use of non rechargeable batteries. Also never got good pictures in low light.. Bonus is interchangeable lens possibilities. SO far nothing but great pictures with it - Recommend highly.
