I wanted a camera that did not hurt my wallet, but still provided me with good images for a novice photographer. I just decided to get into photograph and did not want to go too big too quick and with all my research ended up with this. I am completely happy with my purchase. This camera is perfect for a beginner to try and get acquainted with a camera and does not want to go broke and still get great picture quality. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to begin at a good price!

This camera is wonderful! Got it to get some decent pictures of my very active four year old, and I could not be happier! The only negative is that it takes so many great pictures that I have a hard time deleting any of them, and it eats up my memory. And it was a bit difficult to find a compact, hard-sided case for it. Recommend that you also buy a lens cap cable immediately.

This is not a technical review. Bought this for my son who wanted a good dslr camera. All that he had before was his phone. A photographer friend recommended this camera as well as the 6000. I read the blogs, reviews and bought the 5000 as an early Christmas present. He called saying this camera was great exactly what he wanted, had it on a hiking trip, compact light, took great pictures. Likes the ease that you can take selfies and more than met his expectations with the picture quality wants to get more lenses. Can't wait to see his pictures. I can tell this has sparked an interest in photography, a camera that he can use for a very long time. And part of the best thing for me, I bought it as an open box in excellent condition saving me money. A win win.

Sometimes bigger isn't better. This is a superb camera for a very modest price, a wide range of lenses and accessories modestly priced. Performance of the base camera with zoom is right up there with the much bigger and more expensive DSLR's. Mirrorless, fast autofocus. You can carry the base camera in a suitcoat pocket. You will hardly know it is there.

Bought this camera for my wife who wanted a camera without shutter lag. While not as fast as a DSLR, the a5000 is fast enough to capture the image when you press the shutter. The camera is very easy to use set on Auto settings. However, there are plenty of options for you to shoot in Manual Mode or other light situations (portrait, etc.,) Excellent picture quality with the right light, can rival DSLR quality shots. Built in flash helps with inside shots or low lights. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that the battery is non removeable. This means you charge the battery in camera and cannot buy an extra battery in case you are out all day shooting and your battery dies. For most folks, this is not an issue. even if you do find an electrical outlet. It takes hours to fully charge the battery.

Its the best camera for a beginner with Crisp pictures and perfect image stabilization. Porting the pictures to a smartphone works like a charm. The Camera lens that comes with the camera is sufficient for beginners unless you are more into photography and rely heavily on minuscule capture. I would like to give it a 4.5 given the price and the features that the product has to offer
