    Good for my purposes

I originally got this to hook up to my Mac Laptop, since it's always on and all my music and playlists are already set up. Should've done a little research, as it only works on PCs. So I set them up with my PC desktop instead; setup was easy and they sound great, but I have to go into settings and switch back and forth whenever I want to either listen to music through the wireless speakers or play games using my existing wired speakers. Also, purchasing additional individual speakers are almost as much as this whole package! Overall, the quality is good, just make sure you're OK with it's limitations before purchasing.

    Good Multi-Room System

My wife and I bought this at Christmas time to play Christmas music throughout the house. The setup was extremely easy. For the speakers you simply put the wireless receivers into the back and plug them into the wall. The PC transmitter simply plugged into the USB port of our laptop and autmoatically installed and connected to the speakers. We typically use iTunes and streaming radio stations (Pandora or local stations just through the internet) and did not even install the software that came with the system. The speakers sound great and we have not had any problems with the system over the past month and a half. The only down sides I see are the large plug size for the speakers which make it hard to use on a power strip and the cost.

Good price once it was reduced. Easy to install but a bit more challenging when I decided afterward for the remote control option. Like the portability of just plug and play wherever need. Occasionaly unexplaned scratchy interference but not yet sure abut the source. Good sound!

Works great, especially with open floor plan

Despite other reviews I tried it out, and found that this system is super easy to set up, sounds pretty good, and could be used in all rooms of my house. Granted we have an open floor plan, but it went pretty far away and behind doors with no problems. Did not interfere with Wii remotes. The sound is good, if you want a single speaker and don't need 3-5 speakers throughout your house consider Bose, but if you want an instant multiroom music system without wiring your house this is for you. One word of advise instead of paying $199 for each extra speaker, consider buying two of the two speaker combo for $300, especially if you need 4 speakers.

    Worthless

I was really looking for a user-friendly, family-friendly, simple way to play music from a variety of sources in a variety of places. This seemed like the ticket - easy to set up. The optimum way, it would seem, to set this up is in "advanced remote mode," so you can play music without computer system sounds interfering (which in a busy household with mulitple computer users was a must). So, I attempted to import my music and playlists into the "channel manager," which was virtually impossible. There's no menu, no click and drag and apparently you can only import once (?). I gave up after a few hours, not worth the hassle. Also, we suspect this system interfered with our wireless phones.

    System Disables Speakers

Sony needs to fix this or label the product that you can use your existing speakers or Altus but not both. I contacted Sony support and they confirm that this is the way it is designed.
