Outstanding images! You get what you pay for. Just be aware if you plan on recoding footages in 4K, it will cost you $$...64gb($60 on sale) memory card will only give you 2 hours of 4K recording space. Overall this camcorder is excellent for the average joe if u want to spend the money.

This camcorder is heavier and slightly larger than some current "family friendly" models on the market. The image quality that results from the 1" sensor is unmatched by other consumer camcorders. Sharpness and dynamic range are excellent. With the built in neutral density filters obtaining shallow depth of field in a sunlit situation is available. The image stabilization, though not the latest and greatest generation is fully adequate for one that has used a camcorder before and is fairly steady. I would not trade the smaller size for the image quality this generates. I am very happy with this purchase.

This is my 3rd Sony camcorder so I do know their strengths and weaknesses. This camcorder has been around for several years now. They have the ax700 model out but It doesnt have optical steady shot either. The Sony AX53 is really an awesome camcorder for daylight shooting. I shoot a lot at night so I had no choice but to go with the pricey AX100. If any company comes out with a full frame sensor and optical stabilization, they would rule the business, until then, Sony is king. For now.

Functions perfectly. I am a novice and this camera is great. I will be using this camera to live distribute live streaming sessions across our social media networks.

The large 1" sensor makes a huge difference comparing to the competitors. Even if you shoot a tree with a number of branches against the sun even in this case you won't get any distortions or blur around the tree parts. I'm impressed. It makes a great quality video. The video files are saving in 1 part, one button click - 1 file. That's very convenient. Having a large SDXC card, say, 128 or more and a huge battery can give 4-6 hours of non stop 4k video, which is great. I tested the camcorder in a dark room recording a fashion show and was very impressed with the results.

The reason I give this a good and not excellent is because I need a shoe adapter and the internal software is entirely dependent on the touch screen to change settings and quality and such. Does Color well and has decent saturation.

This is exactly what I needed for in a video camera to record video for an upcoming seminar that I was attending. Excellent video quality and I am excited to test the capability of this camera.

I needed this 4K camera for a production shoot to capture B-footage. The producers loved the quality and are using some of the footage. Great

So far I’ve only used to record indoor orchestra concert. With tripod and Sony ECM-XYST1M Stratocaster mic mounted on top, camera delivered great sound and video quality.

This camera has Extremely Sharp recording capabilities. Zooming in across the room revealed an amazing shot.

I love this 4K camera for home use and videoing activities. It captures sound well and has a clear/crisp picture on playback. No complaints.

I'd been on the fence for years about buying a new video camera...I happened across one of these as an open-box item at a store, it was expensive but looked like a decent pick. I grilled one of the associates for almost an hour over it, and I finally sent them back to find me a new one. What did it was the 4K functionality, the onboard memory (card sold separately), and the fact that it had a mini plug mic input. Since I bought it, I've never regretted it--it's lightweight, easy to use, but captures excellent video and audio with the mic. If you don't already own a 4K camera, this one is expensive but it's worth the price.

We changed mind about getting this camera, too expensive.

Bought this FDR-AX100 4K video camera when the price was reduced by $100.00. It is a Sony product nothing to comment. But I like the salesmanship at Best buy.
