I bought this blu-ray player to replace a Sony model I'd bought over ten years ago. I was surprised to find that this unit was less than a quarter of the size of the one it was replacing (did I say it had been a while since I'd bought a blu-ray player?). I love that it doesn't take up much space on our console. The videos load and play quickly, and the picture quality is excellent. We've had some problems with older DVDs not playing or stopping in the middle of the movie, but I think that's because they're old and possibly damaged because of how often we've played them. None of the blu-ray discs had problems playing, and I was able to get the DVDs to play after a couple of tries, so I'm not concerned. We've also used our Netflix account via the hub, and it works great as well. The thing I like most about this blu-ray player is that when you turn it on and put a disc in, it automatically turns your tv on and switches it to the source for the blu-ray player. Nice!

A lightning strike blew out our former DVD player, so we were in the market for a new, fairly inexpensive one to go with our new Sony tv. This fit the bill perfectly. Way smaller than our old one, easy to set up and operate--what more could your want?

So far I'm very happy with this player. Simple to use and I've had no issues connecting to wifi. I would recommend.

I went into Bestbuy specifically to purchase a replacement 3D blu-ray player and expected to pay at least $500.00. I spent this much on my current 3D player but I was very unhappy with the 3D playback which my family really enjoys. I noticed this player on sale in the store for less than $100.00 but was very skeptical because of the low price so I used the guest wifi in the store to look up the reviews online. The player received very high marks so I figured for this price I couldn't go wrong. Setup was a breeze and when we played our first 3D movie we were blown away with the quality of the picture. What a difference and at a fifth of the price of my old player.

This product is awesome. It is easy to install and allows the user of other apps, sUchiha as YouTube, for the price, I feel that received more than I paid for

I maInly got this DVD player to go with my TV. It was the easiest electronic I ever hooked up. Hooked right up to Netfix with no problem. My TV was supposed to do this, but it did not. I like that this is small and fits right under my cable box.

I traded an Apple TV to get this Sony which works better with the Wifi than the Apple TV. Could never connect the Apple TV. I have only used netflix, blue ray player, and youtube. There is much more to it but haven't had time to explore. Easy to use and connect.

The Sony - BDPS6500 - Streaming 3D Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-ray Player begins playing the disc much faster than my old Blu-ray player. The quality is top-notch and the player is easy to operate.

u was looking for a stand alone blu ray player to watch movies on so I did not have to use my PS3 & PS4 so much. After a little research, I decided on the Sony BDPS6500. I wanted a good 3D player and this one is perfect. The dvd upscaling is great & the ability to upscale blu-ray to 4K means that when I do get a 4K tv, I will not have to buy another player. I don't use the smart function of the player as all my streaming is done through my smart tv or PS3/PS4, but when I did play around with the offerings, the player was fast & I did not experince any problems. I have had the player for over a month now & couldn't be happier with my purchase.

This player works flawlessly. In addition, it is an excellent update to the older Sony Blu Ray players. We watch Netflix and Amazon Prime videos through this machine, and the search engine is markedly improved (as good as Apple TV), and runs without issues. Our older Blu Ray player (Sony) had a lot of issues with shutting down in the middle of streaming movies, or trouble with the actual streaming, but this one works great. Also, great picture quality. Look at the ports before you buy, make sure they will work with your system (there are less ports than prior versions). Also, there is no "clock" on this machine, just so you know....

Sony's top blu-ray player for 2015 plays DVDs and Blu-Rays well. Player is very quiet and movies load quickly. Player has the ability to stream services such as Netflix, Amazon, and Pandora. However, you do not need to utilize those services if not interested. The remote is tiny, but functional. Player should be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable at least once to get firmware updates. Player also allows you to turn off horrible BD Live features that tries to auto connect to internet on certain Blu-Ray movies.

Easy to set up and use with our 50" 4K HD tv. Remote is a bit funky for my taste, but otherwise functional. I like that it's rather on the small side, so it fits nicely with our DirecTV genie receiver, which both sit upon our elevated wall shelf .

I purchased this DVD player to replace our old combination DVD/VCR. It is small, so does not take up a lot of space. It was very easy to set up and is easy to operate. I would purchase this model again.

I recommend this player. It's easy to set up and it's user friendly. I'm not a big app user so I primarily use this for blu ray viewing. The 4K upscaling works great and I like the bonus that it plays SACD's. Great purchase.

I was impressed by this machine. It has a small footprint and is packed with a lotta stuff! It is Blu-ray and wireless and has a bunch of Apps. The small remote is surprising also. It even works with Sharp televisions.

Up to 4K quality. Best Buy had a substantial price reduction. It was enticing! The installation of this player was simple and works easily. Another characteristic which was positive is the compact size of the unit.

This player is loaded with features for the price. I got it for $99 and I think it is a good value. The kids have played blue ray discs and a usb key with movies on it with no problems and the picture looked great.

I have no regrets for purchasing this blue-ray player. It is easy to use and well worth the money. Great brand, great picture quality and a great product. Was easy to install and easy to change out from my old player.

Overall, this is a good player. If you have it plugged in rather than going on wi-fi, it's an absolute dream. On wi-fi, it does well most of the time, but some apps really hate keeping a smooth connection (I'm looking at you, Hulu!)

Blown away by the quality of such a small device. Made everything look better with upscaling. Great compliment to my 65" 4K Sony tv. Had it for almost two years now and still works flawlessly.
