This is my first Sony TV purchase, and price was my main motivator. I was looking for a 48' , in my "price range", that wasn't an LG as I had just had an LG go dark on me after a little over a year. (Bad LED Driver)
The smart TV apps seem to work seemlessly..now I can pop right over to Netflix without firing up my Xbox. There are alot of apps..I have only played with a few.
The picture has taken some "tweaking" for it to look as sharp , bright and colorful as I like to see it. The large variety of picture settings were a little bit overwhelming. Dynamic mode by itself didn't have the desired picture I was looking for so I spent an hour + going through each option... I still find myself playing with the picture settings.
Fast motion is what you would expect from a 60hz refresh rate. But it is 10x better quality than what got with the Insignia brand I returned when I bought this Sony.
The picture looks the best when viewing straight on, and considerably looses quality when viewing from the sides, as with most LED tv's it brightens or looks hazy to me.
For the price, this "budget" smart TV is worth it until I can afford a 4k curved one, one day. :)

Sony made a great tv. The picture is vivid and easy to adjust. It is a smart tv that can use the Internet and comes with a lot of apps including Netflix. It even changes inputs when selecting a blue ray player or directv. The tv also has play station capabilities. It was a great purchase that replaced a plasma tv that quit working. The only problem is when you use the Internet to watch streaming video the remote is unable to select full screen.

I had a Sony Bravia for eight years but in my household years I think that totaled about 20 years. The TV is on almost 10 hours a day. When it came to getting a new TV I went right back to a Sony Bravia. This time I went for the Smart TV and it does not disappoint!. I have an older DSL modem and the TV works great, even with that. I do not have cable. I have an antenna on the roof and the reception is wonderful. I do use Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu and HBO-GO and they all come in great, Apps/Sens button brings up these quickly . The extra options are great. Guide and related search buttons give great info on tv shows at a touch of the button. I did not realize it had picture in picture which my last TV did not have and love that feature, but I can use it only when the DVR is on for the second tuner. Great price was also a huge plus. It has a football mode button but only thing I notice is a change in the sound and like regular sound better.

First I had this toshiba 49" they were selling for 350 but its picture quality didn't convince me to keep it but i also learned that tv was the same one on sale around black friday for 150, then i felt like i was being cheated, i don't know.... i took it back and got this one instead, it was 50 bucks cheaper than bb online at my local store. so far, i'm happy with its picture quality, all the smart tv features and PS Now weren't a selling point for me since i have appletv, fire stick tv and chromecast, but i do like the fact that has 4 hdmi and 2 usb ports, i dislike the huge power cable box but oh well, sound is ok but didn't care about it since i also bought a sound bar (and btw the sound is great LG LAS454B), i like the fact that sony included the mount brackets (fixed, just what i needed) and once mounted the space between the wall and the tv was good enough to hide all the cables and even a Dish wireless joey and my old nintendo wii. i'm happy with it, i only hope it stays like that for long time, nowadays with technology anything could happen, with my old vizio tv, 1 of the hdmi ports went bad (no audio) just a little bit over a year (hence, out of warranty) and it also has this ugly line right in the middle of the screen from top to bottom that kinda goes away after a few minutes being on but not completely, first vizio and the last one.

This TV is a great buy at its then sale price of $649-- big, great picture and sound, very thin, light, energy efficient. As soon as we got it home, it took only about 15 min to set it up in the included stand, install the included batteries in the remote, and then baptize the TV with an episode of Planet Earth. It was a great experience.
The Smart TV features are wonderful, picture quality and sound are both very good. The TV is a bit brighter than my previous Samsung plasma. The refresh rate is 60 Hz, but with Sony's smoothing technology there is no motion blur. We liked the SmartTV set up. It's not as smooth as Roku's system but perfectly fine. For what it is, we love it. We're not fans of 3D TV so we didn't go for that. The ultra 4xHD TVs were nicer in comparison, but wayyy more expensive and we didn't think there was enough ultra HD content out there to merit its cost anyway.
Lots of connectivity options. Wireless connection was painless to set up. I like that the remote control has a Netflix shortcut button. There are lots of settings you can play with to adjust the picture and sound to your preferences.
Notes: The apps are solid, other than not having a Spotify app. We supplemented the apps with a Roku so I don't mind the lack of Spotify. The Amazon Prime video app didn't work for the first couple days but then it suddenly started working. With our purchase, Sony Entertainment included a few free movies of our choice to stream. The other things you might buy bundled at BestBuy (HDMI cable, wall mount, and insurance) are cheaper elsewhere. We bought the Best Buy insurance but then regretted the price (and couldn't figure out from the brochure what the actual coverage was) and ended up returning that and getting an online company's insurance for the TV instead, which gives you a prorated value for the TV as it ages. The Best Buy salesperson was great at telling us about the TV's features and the competing TVs without being pushy or going overboard with a hard sell.

I love this tv. It's just the right size and the picture quality is great. One of the simple pleasures of having this tv is that there is a netflix button on the remote. My tv is for video games, movies, and netflix (I don't watch cable tv), so it is nice to not turn on my playstation, and grab different remotes, and surf through menus.
The tv is very light-weight and the stand is steady and aesthetically pleasing.
The sound quality is just ok, but that is to be expected of the stock speakers. They have to be so small to fit in the tv that their quality will be lacking. That is a given.
Along with everything else, the price is great. I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is an excellent TV, you get what you expect from Sony. Tons of settings to adjust to your hearts desire with the picture. The Smart TV functionality is good, it has the necessary apps you need like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus and Youtube. I really the feature of having 4 HDMI inputs which you can never have enough. The thin bezels make it more immersive experience as well.
I bought this for $448 which was the lowest I have seen at Best Buy and Amazon.
The picture quality is great, no LED backlight bleeding noticed even with a full black picture on the TV. The TV looks classy too and you wont be ashamed to display it in your living room. The remote is nice as well it has the functions I need and the Bravia sync lets me control my PS4 and some Chromecast functionality as well.
The one and only gripe is the decent sound. It gets loud enough but it is not the room filling sound which is expected from a LED TV. You can resolved this issues easily with a soundbar.

This TV replaced my old plasma that was the same size. This Sony Bravia TV is so lightweight and easy to set up I was watching it within 15 minutes of taking it out of the back of my vehicle (and that's with two toddlers running around). It also weighs probably 25% of what my old plasma did and no matter how long I leave it on it doesn't put off any heat like the old plasma did so I know it's running efficiently. The picture and sound is great and the apps work very well.

I was looking for a TV to replace my Samsung 46" that, disappointingly, only lasted about 4 years. I tried a Sharp, but didn't like the picture quality, or the on-screen menu display. I also tried a Vizio smart TV, but, while the picture quality was good, it lacked features like adjustments for the 120Hz setting, and the ability to play movies in 24p mode. I was also thinking it would be nice to be able to connect my smartphone to the TV to share pictures, movies, etc. I couldn't do that with either TV mentioned above, but I can with this Sony! So let me start from the beginning. This TV is easy to set up, has great picture quality, has a ton of settings that you can adjust, does play movies in 24p mode, and it's super easy to connect your smartphone to it (an Android phone at least). The sound quality is so-so, which is to be expected from a TV (get a soundbar if you want great sound). The thing I love most about this TV is how easy it is to connect your smartphone to it (again, an Android at least). It has a "screen mirroring" input where it will show whatever is on your phone's screen on the TV. You can also create an account on the TV and upload your photos and videos, and share them on the TV that way. If you're using You Tube on your phone or iPad, you can tap a button, and it will transfer whatever you're watching to the TV. It couldn't be easier! This TV is awesome! It's my first Sony TV, so here's to hoping it will last longer than 4 years.

We bought a larger Samsung TV first, brought it home and spent hours trying to set it up and get it working. We gave up and took it back, but then Best Buy salesman convinced us this one was a really easy set up and a great picture so we tried it. Had it working in 10 minutes! Great picture, and we like the size better than the larger 55 " that we had tried first. Very simple to use... (we have it hooked to Apple TV not cable.) We are very happy with this one

I bought this TV as the replacement for a 32" Vizio I had for about 3 1/2 years. Couldn't be happier so far. Great picture quality and set up was simple. Also, very light. No worries hanging this one. I'm also a pretty heavy gamer and for the price point I would be hard pressed to find a better option. (PS4)

Best price for a 48-55 inch Smart TV. I bought a Sony that ended up being faulty due to a pixel problem. The LG was easy to set up and perfect for my 83 year old parents. Remote is very simple and easy to use. Has a Netflix button that makes it so easy to operate. Good Picture.
I wish it had standard Audio out, for theatre sound hook up on older A/V Receiver. Has optic and digital audio outputs.
For $60 more then the Sony and 7 inches bigger screen, was a no Brainer.
Great TV for the Money!

I didn't see the need for 4K so this tv fit the bill nicely. Incredibly lightweight, easy to use. Great picture. I don't use any of the smart TV Functions but just by playing with them once I can see they are somewhat slow to navigate through. No issues, hooked right up to my WIFI and Apple TV 4 with no issues.

My mom recently dropped satellite TV service after her town got high-speed internet. She uses Roku and Netflix, and wanted to get rid of the old CRT television, and so assigned me the task of buying a whole new setup. I was comparing lower-priced brands, but the Sony was the only TV in this size class that had a low enough overall height on its stand to fit into the wall unit in her living room. I was already leaning towards Sony because she's been a happy Sony TV owner since the 1960s, so even though the technology has changed and everything about the company and the world has changed, Sony is the best brand for her. I also purchased a Sony BDPS-1500 blu-ray player and a Roku 3.
The TV assembly and setup was quite easy. I wired everything up to a switch instead of using wireless because the internet setup is in the same cabinet. The firmware upgrade the TV needed over the internet was easy, and the Blu-Ray player integrates with the setup as it should. The picture is great (I think Sony has really been doing better recently), the remotes for TV and DVD easier to use than my own Samsung equipment, and the Blu-Ray I used for testing looked fantastic (Lord of the Rings), and most importantly, my mom loves the whole rig, and (most importantly) can use it without calling me to tell her which buttons to push.

i've had this tv for about 2 months and i've been very pleased. the color quality is great - the blacks are really black and whites are whites. it has a sharp picture too. there is a slight bit of pixelation during fast moving sports action but really not bad or too noticeable. I guess I'm comparing it to my current Samsung tv which doesn't have any pixelation/blur at all during sports action - that said the Sony tv has a more vivid, colorful picture. Also, the Samsung smart features are a bit more user friendly but that's not to say that Sony's are bad...they are still fairly easy to setup and use. Also, as many have mentioned the sound quality isn't the greatest but that's expected. Not a big fan of the tv stand either but it being mounted on the wall anyways so that's not a major deal to me. All that said the great picture quality and smart tv features are more worth the money for this tv. Would highly recommend this tv.

After working out our budget for what we could afford to upgrade to, my
wife and I decided we could not afford a 4k . What helped us was the fact the 4 k models would not be used to its fullest .Broadcasters haven't caught up to the technology. Eventually they will and by that time we will reevaluate our position the prices will come down and we will be able to afford 4K. Our research led us to Samsung's 1080P models again. With full intention to buy a Samsung we went to our local Best Buys. To our surprise we compared this Sony Bravio to the Samsung comparitive model. Wow what a difference in the clarity of the picture. The Sony also impressed us with the motion technology compared to the Samsung. They won hands down. We are very pleased with our Sony. The only downside to our purchase was the remote. It was difficult getting used to the different configuration with little explanations how to use the remote. There is no preset for favorite channels that I could find. Thus only 4 rating.

I spent many hours researching tvs. I seemingly considered it all in the 50" size -- from the cheapest to most expensive. In the end, I felt I made the right choice with this tv. I wanted a tv that could effortlessly handle motion, gaming, and have functional built in smart features. Check, check, check. The only quibbles I have is the price and the tv stand. Both were acceptable but the price is on the higher side for a 1080p tv in its size and the stand works but is a little wobbly if the tv is bumped(form over function).
A few personal notable things about the tv...
- at this time smart function has Netflix, Amazon, and plex along with a million other video apps. For nba fans, no league pass at this time sadly.
- smart function is not as snappy as you'd ideally want but it works.
- the picture is very good out of the box but you can make it even better with a few adjustments, the various controls for both audio and video are great!
Overall it won't disappoint!
