I bought it primarily because of the flip screen, in order to take great selfies. It does that extremely well! Additionally, the 30X optical zoom is amazing. As if that wasn't enough, I discovered that the camera takes very good pictures in low-light.

I purchased this camera in 2016 before my trip to Italy. Loved it. It was the best camera I've ever used Light weight, great resolution, great zoom. My camera was lost when my house burnt down and this was one of the first things I bought.

Sony has great video quality for the price i enjoy it very much to start

This is a great compact camera for anyone who wants better pics than an iPhone bit doesn’t want to carry extra gear. This camera has a flip screen, OED, and powerful zoom but keep in mind that the resolution is not best in class and can’t shoot raw.

Very nice colors, but if taking object from close, the flash and extended lens leave a shadow on the picture, not sure what to do about it ! I bought this camera hoping to take close up pictures of nature, but is there a micro setting I can use ?

I had a similar Sony point-and-shot camera but with only 10X zoom and I was not happy with the shots I took in low light -- even with different settings and modes. I REALLY wanted a DSL camera but I didn't want to deal with the large case and the next for a separate zoom. When I travel overseas, I'm VERY concerned about having an expensive item on me, particularly in areas known to have lots of pick-picketers. After talking the Team at Best Buy, they strongly suggested this Sony - Cyber-shot DSC-HX80. I love it! My pictures inside caves and churches came out wonderfully, even in the intelligent auto mode. The zoom is fantastic. I recently was on the Outer Banks, and have a zoomed shot of a shrimp boat just the shore and I could clearly see the captain full view without distortion...without a tripod. Buy it...you'll like it

Camera is everything and more, so many scene modes, super zoom for this size camera. I needed a smaller camera to complement my dslr. I am so glad I purchased it. Good clear photos and so easy to learn to use. Great for a beginner to a pro.

This camera was purchased just before our Disney trip my daughter was looking for something that she can take photos with but also do Vlog videos. the camera's battery lasted all day and it took great photos and videos I highly recommend it
