Great little camera with BIG features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera has everything I need in a pocket point and shoot. I bought it to take on an overseas vacation because my D7000 and lenses would be too much to carry. I wanted something small....good in low light....a decent zoom range and would take pictures that I actually would want to print...It takes some time to get used to all the features available...it can be a little overwhelming but it can be mastered with a little time (buy it ahead of time if you plan on taking it on vacation)....also if you shoot RAW then most of the image processing features are not available. The video and sound are excellent also from what I have used so far. The focus is lightening fast and I love the face recognition selfie features.....I preferred this over the Mark II because I did not like the flimsy pull out screen...I did not need WIFI and the hot shoe had little to offer. This is a great camera for a DSLR user looking for a point and shoot.....a novice may find it a little complicated.

Takes Excellent Pics and Perfect Size.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The genius this Sony RX100 is that it manages to squeeze a comparatively large 1in sensor into a compact form that you really can slip into your shirt or jeans pocket. Its small size doesn't mean the RX100 is lacking in features either. With great quality 1080p50/60 HD video, built-in stereo mics, face tracking AF, 10fps continuous full resolution shooting, RAW support and a 3 inch extra-bright high resolution LCD display it's a very capable compact. Add in Sony's array of specialised stacking modes for enhanced tonal range and improved low light performance, sweep panorama, focus peaking and a wide range of picture effects and the RX100 is the equal of anything its size.

good camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera has a large sensor for its price. It also has two good automatic modes. In one of them, if the camera senses movement or marginal lighting, it will take several exposures and stitch them together. The result is excellent photos for low photography skills. The camera also allows manual control of most settings, so you can get great photos if you know what you're doing.

Outstanding Semi-Compact Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Outstanding quality camera that I can fit in my pocket! I have been keeping my eye on the RX100 since it hit the market. The flexibility of photo features, 20 MP, and ease of use make it my new go to camera. I was not looking for a full SLR with extra lenses, etc. but more of an everyday quality camera. The RX100 has met my expectations. I would suggest that you also purchase the EYE-FI Mobi memory card to allow for wifi photo downloads.

This is an exceptional pocket camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking at a number of point-and-shoot, small pocket cameras I decided to give this one a try. I am highly impressed by the resolution and ability to take shots in poorly lit situations. It also takes impressive video. It is one of the very best, and most capable pocket cameras available on the market today.

Best camera I've ever owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is absolutely amazing!. Big CCD and hi def (20mp). The absolute best part of this camera is low light photos. Ridiculously great imaging at night, better than my old 35mm film camera. We took this on vaca in the Mediterranean and the night shots were unbelievable. This is a Big Deal on digital cameras, and the fact that you can put this in your pocket means you'll take it everywhere.

Fantastic camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Takes better pictures than my expensive camera. Could use a bigger zoom lens, but hey, that's not really what this camera is for. It takes great pictures in low light, it's compact and easy to carry, and has a wealth of effects and settings for fun pictures.

Compact camera with professional features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great compact camera that comes with professional features and manual controls to take high-quality pictures and videos. A large sensor, 20 megapixels, a bright f/1.8 lens, a control ring in the front, lots of functions and many customization possibilities make this a perfect product. Highly recommended!

Great point and shoot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The two cameras I was deciding between were the rx100 (versions 1 through 3) and the canon g7x. I'm a canon guy since 2006 with a sd700is point-and-shoot and a t2i SLR, so I was leaning towards the canon. After going through reviews, I thought the rx100 was more polished. I sprung on the rx100m1 when bestbuy had a great deal a few months ago. I'm so glad with my purchase. I couldn't fit my SLR on a trip to Vancouver and Seattle, so the rx100 was a great alternative for me. If I did have the space, I would have taken the T2i, but I prefer the rx100 for places where compactness is useful. I was also worried about the rx100m1 being many years old since I purchased it just two months ago, I recently found out the rx100m4 specs are out and reflecting on the decision - I still think the rx100m1 was a great deal and I would buy it again.

Excellent Point and Shoot, but there are better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was extremely interested in the RX100 series, but was unsure if the base model RX100 was the right pick. The size, photo quality, and versatility of this camera were fantastic, but in low light situations this camera fell a little flat. I eventually decided to give the RX100M3 a try and was much happier with the upgraded sensor and enhanced lens in low light situations. If you are going to be using this camera outdoors and in decent lighting, this is a great deal. If you want more versatility out of a camera look for the RX100M2 or RX100M3 to get better results in nearly any situation.

Great Picture Quality and Perfect Size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From my past experiences with "Point and Shoot Cameras" I was very hesitant about purchasing the Sony Cyber-Shot, but I read the reviews on the product and I have to say that this camera really is ideal for anyone who wants a small, lightweight camera that takes professional quality photos. I would highly recommend you look into the Cyber-shot point and shoot cameras from SONY.

Great point and shoot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having had my older point and shoot stolen, I was in the market for a new one. I was thinking twice as I was also buying a new SLR camera the same day (since that on was also stolen) and didn’t know if I would really need two again. But, I’m really glad I decided to go with this camera. I’ve had a Sony point and shoot before and I hated it, so while I was leery about going back to Sony, I had only read and heard great things about this model. The pictures have been amazing. Even in low light I can get great pictures without using the flash. The only two things I don’t care for is that when you charge it, you charge it from the camera adapter, and not by taking the battery out. And the other is that to change the ISO when in manual mode, you have to go through the menu settings to do it. So when trying to change it fast, you are pretty much stuck. Overall though, it’s been really great.

Great pics indoors, auto settings are great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm very happy with this camera. I got a great deal and my main concern, decent indoor shots with sketchy lighting, was more than achieved. It's small enough to fit in a pocket or purse, but gets high quality photos and the battery lasts quite a while. There are tons of setting options that will serve any kind of photographer. My only quibble is that the way I'm used to holding a camera, the flash popup gets blocked, but I'll get used to that. I do plan to buy a more substantial strap.

Fantastic close-ups and more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My main purpose in buying this camera was to have something that's good for taking detailed close-up shots of products, for use in my work. And in fact, the images are crystal-clear and detailed, But it's also won me over for its tiny size and ease of use. I can set it to auto and the results are great. One day I may play with the more advanced options but suspect I'll never really need to. Great little camera and a great value!

Great for any user
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera has the features that an experienced photographer is looking for in a compact camera, and is easy enough for a beginner to use. Given the 1" sensor and 20 MPixels, Image quality is very good as well.

high end prosumer camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A large sensor in a small full featured camera. This camera offers intelligent auto modes, along with full manual control. Appropriate for both a beginner as well as a professional. Great picture quality, easy to use, hard to master, but enjoyable and fun to use. Offers both stills and movies. You can shoot raw and jpeg. On board flash is til table. Highly recommended.

Nice camera for what it is!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a decent camera for those wanting something to carry around instead of their DSLR. It will not give you DSLR quality, but it is very good quality that you can carry in your shirt or pants pocket. In terms of comparing it to other compacts, it doesn't get much better than this.

Takes great photos!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great camera. I took it overseas to use as an easy point and shoot, and it was worth using over a phone camera. The quality is crisp, has a smart aperature for blurred backgrounds, and is great in low light situations. My only complaint is the price. The price gap for the ne t model up is reciculous, and while selfie options and wireless are nice, it wasn’t necessary for me. If like to see the price lower from Sony- BUT, I’d say it’s one of the bast lines of digital cameras on the market.
