Customers are saying

Customers value the Cyber-shot RX100's superb image and video quality, along with its compact size and ease of use. Many appreciate its performance in low-light conditions and the range of features it offers. However, some users find the flash design inconvenient and the price point relatively high. It's sophisticated and intuitive to use. The lens is fantastically sharp and sharply focuses in a millisecond. The white and color balance are perfect. Light control is readily available on the selection control wheel. The rear display is brilliant. - I love this camera. It's my constant companion.

There are a lot of settings on this camera that take some getting used to. However, I feel that it just takes a little practice to learn how to use them. The owner's manual is not very helpful so it just takes trial and error to work the settings.

I am just a casual user. I want to point my camera at the subject and have it take great pictures with rapid fire when needed. (Sports shots in motion, my newborn son, etc.) It does that very well and also landscape shots and a variety of effects very well also.

I have had this camera before, I gave it away to a family member, I purchased it again just because it is awesome, still one of the best digital cameras out there, plus easy to use.

I purchased this Sony RX 100 camera for a trip that I'm taking to NY in the summer. I own a DSLR but didn't want to carry it around in the city. I wanted something a little more than a point and shoot camera, but would still fit in my pocket. This camera is just what I was looking for. It has many features that my DSLR has only it's small enough to fit in my pocket.

It is the best camera I ever used, expect DSLR!!! I had Canon 60D for pretty long time. It always make me feel really tied after carry it for the whole day. Then i decide to go for a small size but with great photo ability. RX100 really did the perfect job. You could just put in your pocket to everywhere. Also it could meet all your requirements. Try it, before you go with any mirrorless cameras!!1

For good quality pictures and price it is great! Well worth the money spent (got it as a previously opened product), but haven't had any issues with it. True, it is big for the ultra light weight hikers and cannot attach a lens, but hey that's not what I need it for. Love it and that's all that matters. Just went on a 10 day hike and have a lifetime of photos because of it.

The image quality is very good, but after using it for 1 1/2 years the lens would not retract or close. There seems to be serveral issues like this going on.

Overall, this camera is great for everyday life and capturing the moments. Any fast moments, sports, children running, may present an issue, because in my opinion, the focus is a little slow. Of course I also I an OMD-EM-5 and have been spoiled with its lightning fast focus speed. I also found the start up time a little slow as well. However these minimal problems take a back seat to the amazing image quality you will get out of this camera. Even out of camera JPEG shots are awesome.

Begin with fast start-up. Can be set to multiple pictures, focus on faces, smile etc. Sounds to let me know multiple pictures are being taken. Many, many adjustments available. Preview of pics between shots can be adjusted so you can quickly take followup pics. Not like my last Sony WX5. Easy to switch to view pictures. Many common used features are easily available with fewer strokes. On the negative side, the camera is expensive, does not zoom as much as preferred, a little thick to slip in pocket and, the Sony case hangs around your next and doesn't clip on to belt. Not the perfect pocket camera but the features and quality make up for some of those negatives. If you can live with these negatives, it is a great camera.

Took this on vacation to a very scenic natl park instead of having to haul a dslr around. Obviously doesn’t have the total versatility that a dslr with some good lenses might have, but it’s a great little point and shoot with some cool features you might expect on one of those bigger cameras
