Bought this when it was on sale, which made me very happy. I was upgrading from an old recorder that had no memory card. I read the package to see what all it did and contained (Something several of the reviewers obviously didn't do) and it was exactly what I was looking for, or I would have bought something else. The sound quality is amazing, and I like the ease of transferring files, and the fact it records in MP3 format. I have had no problems, and no complaints. Easy to use, very simple design. I wish the screen was back-lit, but then it would have cost more, and I rarely use it in total darkness, anyway. I put an 8Gig micro sd card in it, and use rechargeable batteries...so this will outlast any event I ever want to record.

    Super Voice Recorder

As of this date 10-10-11 Sony's Web Sight price is about three dollars cheaper than Best Buys. Sony probably lowerd their price and Best Buy has not changed theirs yet. We use this voice recorder for recording sermons. The output of the mixer is pluged into the recorders mic port. We installed an 8G microSD card so if the recorder goes bad the surmons are still on the microSD card. The pastor downloads the recorders MP3 file and burns it to CDs for those that want them for family and friends. this is sure better than loosing part of the sermon when we turn the tape around. Also with the tape we had to real time, load the sermon into the PC, convert it and then burn to CDs. This took a lot of time. Another thing, there is nothing to wear out with this voice recorder. A set of AAA batteries last about 60 hours. We choose this unit because of the Sony name and it having a stereo input.

    Best Buy for the money

I wear hearing aids for I have a 55% loss in hearing. I bought the Sony recorder so I could hear what I was missing or not hearing with my hearing aids. The IC recorder is the best stereo recorder I have found for recording and playback natural sounds as they are present in the sound environment. No external mikes are necessary for stereo recording, although you can add an external mike to record sound. Also, you can use stereo head phones with the Sony IC. Finally, the Sony IC is computer friendly.

    Very Good Recorder

1st of all I got this at BB on sale, but I think it worth the regular price. I originally bought the ICDPX333 for $59.00 (reg. price), and returned it for this one on sale for $65.00, only $5.00 more. The other recorder had a slight glich in the software. This recorder has more features than the PX333. The PX333 came with a basic manual that was very diificult to follow. This one comes with a very good detailed manual that comes with it, along with a CD for the sound organizer (editing software). With the PX333 you have to upload the software and manual to your PC from the recorder itself. I like the fact That I can charge the batt in or out of this recorder. I could also use rechageable batt. in the PX333, but could only charge them out of the recorder with a separate charger. If you remove the batt to charge, after a minute all settings return to default. It's also "stereo" with dual mics. It came with a better quality, longer USB card. Also comes with a carrying case. The sound quality seems to be about the same which is very good. Many of the settings are off by default, and you have to go into the "Detailed Menu" to set & change them. You have to hold the "Disp-Menu" button down, till the Detailed menu comes on screen. There you can toggle through all the settings. If you use any of the scene settings #Lecture, meetings, etc.# all record settings will be auto set, you can't change them. If you want to change mic sensitivity, you can't use any of the scene settings. This recorder comes with 2GB internal flash memory, and it takes added SD cards in the Sd card slot. I put in an 32GB SD card #got at BB on sale# that I use for music, E-books, etc. I use the internal 2GB memory for lectures, meetings, etc. You can easily switch back and forth between internal and external SD flash memory. I also use an accessory cord to plug into the mic/out jack, into my input jack in my car.... and play the sound through my car speakers. Most newer cars have aux and USB inputs. There was a small learning curve with this recorder, but it usually is for me with new gear. But since I'm a simi geek and tech savvy, I catch on to tech gear quick. But this recorder is pretty easy to use and should not be a headache for most people. I can tell you that Sony ups the overall quality of their gear as the price goes up. Better cords, manuals, more features, ease of use, etc. The PX333 was bare bones compared to this one and was only mono. I expect the liability to be excellent and should live up to the Sony rep. I plan to get a mini external mic for this recorder.... maybe a wireless one. It will give me more flexablity in using it. This is an excellent recorder and I will get good use. Thumbs up on this Sony product.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He owns his own construction business and is always on the phone with customers. His truck was full of paper work. This little recorder has saved him so much time. Much easier & safer to use while driving down the road too! I almost bought him a tablet but this was a better choice and safer choice. He now has been using it at home to. Very Happy Customer!!!

    Great Recorder

I bought this recorder to record the 2 way radio transmissions on a school bus. I wasn't sure if it would be sensitive enough to pic up the voices over the motor noise. I laid it on the dash near the radio & it worked great. It also picked up my voice very well. There was some motor noise, but that was to be expected as it is an older bus. I let another bus driver try it on her new bus, which is much quieter, and the background noise was non existent. Extremely satisfied. Thanks Best Buy for honoring B & H Photo's online price.

It's excellent for college students and anything else. I also use it to record cooking shows, and other things I might forget. You will enjoy it very much ! I love mine, without it taking notes at school would be hard.

I bought this recorder to replace my other recorder that does not record in stereo. I like the ease of use and the kick stand that is built in the recorder.

You can use this as a USB drive, but there is no software for the Mac. This really stinks.
